We move through 1 & 2 Timothy, Galatians, 2 Thessalonians, and 1 Corinthians to draw a straight line between sound doctrine and spiritual safety. Paul’s message leaves no wiggle room: there is no other gospel, and any teaching that perverts the gospel of Jesus Christ is not “a different perspective,” it’s a dangerous substitute.

Welcome And Why This Matters

Speaker 1

Grace and peace, grace and peace. Welcome to another rendition of the Moral Compass Chronicles. I am your man. I'm your brother. I'm your friend. I'm your host. I'm Eyon Jay. You know you can find me just about everywhere on almost every single platform in every single capacity. It's a pleasure to be here today. I have a few things that I want to say. I have a few scriptures that I want to share. I hope not to be too long on today. I don't really feel like preaching, but I do have um a little something that I do want to share with us. Um and I hope that the spirit doesn't take me in any other direction because I just want to stick with this and get up out of here. All right. And so um I have a few scriptures I want to share. Uh and now we we understand that you know this conversation is a very specific one. You've heard me say that on many different occasions. Um it's a particular conversation for a particular set of people who understand the truth of God and the truth of this world. All right. Um this conversation may not resonate with those who have not yet come into the truth and the revelation of who God is. All right. And so um as I share these scriptures, we understand that uh Paul talks about um a lot of these things, and he he specifically mentions that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, okay? And it's profitable for doctrine and uh for correct correction and for reproof and for instruction in righteousness specifically, all right, and that the that the man of God may be perfect and and may become perfect, right? Because we're we'll never attain perfection. We know we'll never attain it because only one person was ever perfect, um, and that's uh why he died for us, right? That we may go on to perfection, uh thoroughly furnished unto all good works. And so um I thank God for the word. I thank God for the word and for the scripture. Um uh for for for what it is and for what it's supposed to do to me. It's supposed to change me from the inside out. I'm supposed to be different. I'm never supposed to be the same after reading and watch this, after reading and applying scripture to my life. I should never be the same. I should be changed. I should begin to change,

Scripture Should Change Us

Speaker 1

and and as I read and as I study to show myself approved, right? I should be changing over time. I shouldn't be the same today as I was yesterday, right? And so I thank God for the for the word that that comes forth constantly um to his people through through through through the word, the preach word. Um I hear my past one of my pastors always say that we're thankful that uh God is still using the foolishness of preaching to save the souls of men, and I'm grateful that I am one of them that can still hear it. All right, because it doesn't go in my ear and go out the other. Um it resonates with me, and I'm truly, truly looking to be changed and to become a better person, one that God can be pleased with.

Departing From The Faith

Speaker 1

Alright, and so let's go to uh Timothy. Um, and that's funny enough, that scripture I gave all scripture, um, no pun intended, is given by inspiration of God. That's in 2 Timothy. We're gonna go to 1 Timothy very quickly, and we're gonna shoot over to Thessalonians, and we're gonna shoot over to Galatians, then we're gonna um, you know, maybe uh uh go a little back and forth through Corinthians. Um excuse me, first Timothy chapter four and verse one, it says it reads as thus Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Um and I don't even I don't even I didn't even really need to read any further. Uh the spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, some shall depart from the faith, and we're seeing that every single day. And uh why would one watch this departing from the faith that implies several things that implies that you were once indeed in the faith, right? You can't depart from something you were never you can't depart from a place you were never in. Right? You can't depart from a place you were never in. In order to depart from somewhere, you have to be there. You've got to be there at some point, right? And so, and so Paul is telling us that some are going to leave, some are gonna leave the faith, some who are in the faith are going to leave the faith uh by because of them giving heed to these seducing spirits, uh being succumbed, being overrun and overtaken Um by these seducing spirits. In in the book of Luke, Jesus warns Peter that uh the that the enemy is looking to sift us and devour us, sift us as wheat. And he he's he desires to have you, is what Jesus said, right? And sorry to paraphrase. He Peter Satan desires desires to have you that he may sift you, he may devour you and sift you as wheat, if I'm not mistaken, right? And so some are gonna depart from the faith, Paul is saying, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, doctrines of devils, that false doctrines is what he's saying. So uh watch this. Some are gonna be in good places, on good, planted on good ground, in a good church, right? Where they are being strengthened, their their their belief and their faith of God is being strengthened daily and weekly. And some of these people are not just gonna leave the because the faith is not referring to the church itself, the building. The fit the the faith is referring to the church of Jesus Christ, which is a building made not by hand, right? Some are going to leave their faith and renounce their faith in the truth of who God is, because they're gonna give heed to the lies of the enemy. And and if I can now continue here, and so so now, okay, watch this, watch

No Other Gospel

Speaker 1

this. If we go to Galatians, this is Paul now, again, he's saying, I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. I'm I'm so surprised, I'm amazed even that you're so soon removed from the truth, and you have gone on to another gospel, a lie. Your mind has been corrupted. Lord help me. I said I don't want to preach unto another gospel, which is not another, because there is no other, but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. This is a consistent message. This is a consistent message. This is a very consistent message. Some would pervert the gospel of Christ. And so Paul then goes on now to to to make a he goes on to make himself clear about the gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth and the instructions, right? All scripture. What is it given for? Or it's given by inspiration of God and what? Profitable for what? Doctrine. So Paul is saying, he's about to make a claim. He goes on now. This is Galatians chapter 1. We were reading Galatians chapter 1, verse 6, verse 7. Now we're on to eight here. Paul says, but though we or an angel from heaven would preach any other gospel unto you, then the than that which we have already preached unto you, let that man be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you, other than the one that you have already received from Jesus Christ himself, unto his apostles, Paul being one of them, let him be accursed. Okay. The world is full of lies. Be not one that succumbs to it. So now let me tell you what I'm taking from

Love Without Keeping Company

Speaker 1

this. Paul is saying, and if I can go now to Second Thessalonians chapter three, if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. And he goes on to say, though, yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. Bro, that's the gospel. Love. Paul is saying, bro, if you see someone that is not regarding the entire word of God, that which was given to us by inspiration of God. If you come across somebody, if you are in an assembly with someone, you have relationship with somebody that does not abide by this word. Have no company with him, but continue to love him because we are we are called to love one another regardless. You have to love your neighbor, you have to love your brother, you have to love your enemies. But you don't have to be friend okay now here we go. I don't gotta be buddy buddy with you. I don't have to come to your functions, and I don't need you at mine. I don't need to be friends with you. I'm your brother, but I don't have to be your friend. We don't have to be close. I don't need to talk to you on the phone. I don't need to be texting you. I ought to have no company with you, but I still gotta show you love. I need you to feel the fact that I want nothing to do with you. Holy Ghost help me. I need you to understand that I want nothing to do with you. Because you're lost and you're not gonna drag me down. But it is my job to continue to love you and to show uh uh uh to show my light, allow my light to shine that you might be able to see it and change those wicked ways. Alright, I I said I was I didn't want to preach, and and so we've got to be careful. This is gonna be a short message, like I said, we've got to be careful, brothers and sisters, children of God, even with people, and so I was talking about those that have departed from the faith.

Speaker

And and I went on now to those who in uh 2 Thessalonians, as I said, who choose not to obey the words of these words of the Scripture and obey the Scripture itself, which we know is from God, those that are departing from the faith.

Speaker 1

You gotta be careful of those who have not departed from the faith, though. They appear to still be in the faith, and watch this, some of which are in the faith, like they they are truly in the faith. They just either haven't fully surrendered to the Lord or they don't understand the scripture the way they ought to.

Ignorance And Biblical Separation

Speaker 1

If I can go to 1 Corinthians, and I maybe have two or three more scriptures, 1 Corinthians 14, 37, if any man think himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Speaker

Be careful.

Speaker 1

Some people are not abiding by the totality of the scripture. That's why I love it. I I've said this before, I'm gonna close the Bible. I've said this before about the apostolic faith, right? I believe, and and we we talk about separation and how, oh my god, you know, we we've all separated from ourselves, and and it's so funny. People who people who are not a part of the faith, in truth, holy, submitted, they love to say how, you know, like one of the things they don't like about the faith and the church and the people who you know attend and people who call themselves Christians, they talk about how separated we are. I remember the spirit revealed to me, we are called the Bible itself calls us to be ye separate. Come out from among them. Come out from among them. It is my job to be separate from them. Them who call us uh liars because and and and call us hypocrites because of the amount of denominations that there are. I I listen, the apostolic church is the only one that doesn't pick and choose what parts of scripture we want to abide by. I and I and I'm not gonna I'm not even gonna talk about no other nobody else. Honestly, I'm I'm not even gonna get into that right now. We don't pick and choose. Hey, God, don't leave it, let me get into Jesus being God Himself versus the ones who will argue until Jesus comes that Jesus is only the Son of God, or the ones that are gonna argue that Jesus is just a prophet, just a messenger, the ones who are gonna argue that Mary deserves more praise and more glory and honor than Jesus. I'm gonna come in here, you say five Hail Marys. I'm not even gonna do it right now. I can't. I don't have it in me right now. I don't got the energy. This is a simple reminder of the scriptures that I just gave

Stop Using Feelings As Proof

Speaker 1

you. To remember to study the word of God for yourself. There are some things that are happening that I see taking place, and we are looking to man for valid oh Lord, we look to man for validity of certain things where the scripture is already explaining what we should be doing. We're using the eye test and how we feel to dictate and determine what's right and what's wrong, even in the church. And we're not looking to the scripture. The scripture is clear and it's plain and it's right and it's just and it's sharper than a two-edged sword because it's supposed to cut both of us at the same time.

Speaker

It ain't me vers you.

Speaker 1

But we we're so lost, and we swear that we're so found. We swear that we have more spirituality than everybody else, and we know better. And if I talk to this person and they confirm what I feel, that makes both of us right, is foolishness, and the devil is a liar. These are deceiving doctrines that we were warned about, and some of us are some people are falling victim to these seducing doctrines and seducing spirits by choice. Some people are doing it on purpose, spreading a false gospel as if there is supposed to be another and a different one. There's only one gospel and one set of instructions, and and some of us are falling into these things intentionally and some unintentionally. And that's why the scripture is giving, oh Lord, I thank you. That's why the scripture is for the ones who aren't doing it intentionally, the ones who honestly want to want to serve God and and do their very best and to want to abide by the scripture, I I want to remind you to read the word of God for yourself. And don't pick and choose. Because let me tell you something. If if you what you feel is in the word of God, and then there's a disclaimer, there's another part of it that clarifies the part that you feel, and the part that resonates with you. I'm gonna tell you right now, don't look too hard at the part you're right about, don't study too much the portion of it that you know is true because oh, I knew I was right about XYZ. Okay, that's there. What else is there though? What does it say after that verse? What's the context of that chapter? What does the writer go on to say? I'm thankful that all the scripture is given by inspiration of God, and it's profitable for doctrine, the proper doctrine, not a false doctrine, not a secondary one, not a false gospel as Galatians was talking about, and a secondary one as if there is another, there's only one. And the scripture is given to be profitable for the doctrine, the proper one, and for reproof, and for correction. We ought to be correct. It's the word of God that's supposed to correct us. It's not just me, it's not I shouldn't just be coming to try to correct you with my own words. If I'm correcting you with scripture, you need to listen. If you're correcting me with scripture, I need to listen, not with emotion. I always said this, and this is gonna be one of the last things I say.

God’s Word Over Discernment Claims

Speaker 1

Um men can't say what they want, right? We can talk about how we feel all day long. That can't be confirmed. Watch this, watch this. I want you to listen closely. The only thing that cannot be wrong.

Speaker

Is the word of God.

Speaker 1

We can talk all day about how we feel, what we think we know. Oh, the spirit said this, the spirit said that. Uh, and and and from yo, for my prophets, for for my ones who believe they are gifted with the spirit of prophecy, yo, I feel you. Bro, oh my god, if the Lord calls me to cook on this, bro, he has given me so much revelation on this specific topic. This is not what I've been talking about, but since we're here now. If I got a fry on this, bro, some people not gonna like it. We can talk all day long about how we feel, what's in our spirit, what thus says the Lord to us by way of prophecy, or whatever. We can talk all day about that.

Speaker

None of that can be confirmed. All of it can be questioned about whether a person is right or wrong.

Speaker 1

But what can't be questioned, and what there is no possibility of being wrong, is the word of God. My words can fail me. Your feelings can fail you. What you believe you heard the Lord say, what I believe I heard the Lord say, something came to this person by a dream, by way of dream. Bro, all that I could be questioned. But the word of God is what's right. That is how we judge, that is how we prove, that is how we correct, that is how we decide or we discern properly. Because even discernment is one thing. But if I'm discerning something and the word of God says something else about what I thought I was discerning, what's right? The unction that I had, or the word of God itself. That's a whole nother thing. Didn't intend to go there. That's a whole nother thing. And maybe at some point we can get into that. But I just want to encourage us. Like there's no video to this one. I got the biggest grin on my face right now. Cause, bro, if the Lord calls me to fry on that, I am going to fry, bro. I'm gonna fry. I'm gonna fry. I'm gonna fry, bro. Oh man, I tell you. But listen, I want to encourage, I want to encourage, I wanna encourage, I wanna encourage.

Read For Yourself And Stay Grounded

Speaker 1

Be careful, read the word of God for yourself. Let not the doctrines of the world, the winds of doctrines, as the Bible calls it, the YouTube preachers and and all the different live streams going on out there, and people are making everything accessible, everything they have to say, everything, including myself. I'm here, right? But you notice you come here, you know you're gonna hear something Bible-related, and it's gonna be backed by Scripture. That's the one thing I can say. I try my best to leave the emotions out of it. I seek the Lord, and I and if I get something from the Lord, I believe I get something, I make sure I find scripture for it. That's it. At least I do my best. I do my best. That is the goal. So make sure that, and then once you hear scripture, you hear something somebody gotta say, you hear scripture, you go read the word of God for yourself. Make sure you're going to a church that is challenging you to go to the word of God, not listening to what they have to say as law. Because there's a lot of that going on. Hear what I say and know that, and put your trust in me, that I know what I'm talking about. That's foolishness. Tell me where to go find it, and let me go find it and search the scripture for myself. Listen, I love you guys. I love you. I appreciate you listening. I hope I said something or read something as I hold this Bible up that made sense to you, or furthermore, that is going to push you to go to the scripture yourself. Because that's the goal. Until next time, this has been the Moral Compass Chronicles. I love you, and I'll see you soon.
