Overcoming Fear - June 22

For many of us, change feels uncomfortable because it disrupts the familiar. As human beings, we crave stability, routines, and a sense of control. When change comes along, it can feel like the ground beneath us is shifting.
Psychologically, our resistance to change is rooted in a few key factors:
- Fear of the Unknown
When we don’t know what’s coming next, our brains naturally default to caution. The uncertainty of change triggers anxiety, making us feel hesitant or even paralyzed. - Loss of Identity
Transitions often challenge how we see ourselves. For example, leaving a job might make you question your sense of purpose, or ending a relationship might make you feel untethered. - Emotional Overload
Change often brings a mix of emotions—grief, excitement, fear, hope. Managing these feelings all at once can be exhausting.
