I'm Sofia Yvette, co-host, slash producer, back in the studio with Unlimited Auto Wash owner Kevin Dalton. Kevin, how's it going today?

Oh, great, great, great morning here in South Florida, so we couldn't be happier.

Speaker 2:

Awesome. Well, that's great to hear, kevin. So our listeners want to know what are the key factors that have contributed to the growth and success of unlimited auto wash in South Florida.

Speaker 3:

Okay, that's a great question. So I want to say first, the thing that comes to mind is location, location, location. Our locations are set up where they're a few miles apart from each other, in a pattern that allows our wash club members to easily go from one place to another in their travels, and they're also located in great locations right off the interstate, near major communities. The economics of those locations, the demographics of those locations are right where we need to operate successfully. I would also say our processes. We're known for our hand wash, which allows us to really go after the demographic that we need, which is maybe more male oriented, just a few percentage points, slightly older, from 30 on up and with higher income. I want to say those customers have very, very nice cars that they're very proud of and take care of. Of course, people outside of that demographic certainly have wonderful cars and we love washing them, but the word of mouth and those demographics have really helped our business catch on. They're the ones that want that hand wash to help them out with their ceramic coated vehicle or a filmed car and I say a filmed car like a PPF film coating, it's like a wrap on a car. So our phone number. Having that phone number that people can remember and in the back of their mind they can always call for a question, especially if they're a member of our club which is easily affordable by everyone, that really helps. 561-wash-me-2. You can see it right behind me there. And also our consistency and our training processes. Our employees go through at least 40 to 80 hours of training before they're actually given the ability to go at it themselves on finishing a car after a wash. Of course they're still teamed with people and we have a quality control person that walks around and he's got an eagle eye for that employee or co-worker to make sure that they're maintaining our processes.

Speaker 3:

I think the consistency of what we offer our product from vacuuming to doing the exterior windows and interior windows and wiping down the dashboard and the door jams and the cup holders and so forth Tires shine on the vehicle, on the car, on the wheels is very consistent and we're very proud of that. But I think the biggest thing that our customers see and what makes us a great organization our workers, our co-workers that we hire and train. They're wonderful people, I can't say enough about them. They show up at work every day with a smile on and do their job and make the customers happy, and so we couldn't be happier in regard to the way we do business, Not about the almighty dollar with us.

Quite frankly, our wash packages, the prices on those, were really set up based on what would I want to pay as a consumer that goes to a car wash. You know, I know that the other car wash down the road maybe charges $20, but of course it's not a hand wash and that doesn't include the interior. So they don't mind paying $25 or $29 for that same or for a higher quality hand wash with the interior and it's kind of a no-brainer. We try to maximize as many items in a wash package as we can when we create them, but I think our consistency and our training is our number one factor.

Speaker 2:

So, kevin, can you break down how the unlimited Auto Wash membership works?

Speaker 3:

Yes. So you come in and you talk to our ticket writer when you're getting your wash. Our wash is great for occasional customers that don't want to join our club. But if you join our club, we base our pricing on knowing that you're going to come two, three, four, five times a month, if not more. It's unlimited. You can come every day of the month if you'd like.

Speaker 3:

You can come every day of the month if you'd like, but we design it and look at it as you can get, let's say, our $25 wheel deal wash, which gives you an excellent hand wash wheels cleaned, tires shined, blown dry, coming out of the tunnel, hand finished interior windows, vacuuming, dash, door jams, cup holders, wash, wipe down all for less than the price of two of those washes. You can come unlimited. So the $25 wash, which works out to 50 plus taxes like $54, but taxes already included in our unlimited plan at just $49.95. I think it's a great deal. If you just come twice, you've made out during the month. But most of our customers come three and four times a month. They come once a week and they love it. They just love our services.

Speaker 2:

That's amazing, Kevin. So with so many locations, how do you maintain service quality across all of them?

Speaker 3:

Well, as mentioned in previous episodes, our training processes. It starts with our Monday morning meeting with all of our managers at our Jupiter office and we go over numerous items that maybe occurred the week before we go over our good reviews. We rarely have to go over a negative review because we rarely get them, and even then it may be because in March, on a Friday, the busiest month of the year by far on a Friday, which is our busiest day of the week they may have had to wait more than their average time of, let's say, 20 minutes. They may have been here for 35 minutes that day and they weren't happy about that and I don't blame them, but there's really not much we can do. It's very difficult to find people in South Florida, but our training is our biggest thing and we preach sense of urgency. Sense of urgency it's so vitally important in our job, in our business. We're very good at what we do and I couldn't be happier for our coworkers.
