Emily Holmes - UNBC Women's Basketball (Alumna)
UNBC Women's Basketball alumna Emily Holmes (2015-2020) is not the type of person who you can easily define.
Yes, the Prince George product is a basketball player, but her skillset and passions also include the world of insurance, coaching, art, and world travel. Her leadership, versatility and authenticity are obvious from the jump, and have allowed her to thrive in a number of different areas of life, and also allowed her to experience some incredible moments at UNBC both on and off the court.
In Episode 6, Holmes shares her story of:
- Growing up in a basketball household, being coached by her parents, but needing to come to the realization herself that basketball (and not soccer) was something she wanted to stick with and wanted to pursue at the U SPORTS level.
- Spending five seasons on the UNBC Women's basketball team and experiencing some game-changing moments.
- The most memorable game she ever played in - which happened to be a double overtime road playoff game in Lethbridge (2020) where she set career highs in points and minutes played.
- Why UNBC and it's people have forever made their mark on her life, and why she prioritizes giving back to her alma mater.
