Timberwolves Unleashed

Kambria Mellum - UNBC Women's Soccer

Dan O'Connor (UNBC Sports Information and Marketing Coordinator) Season 1 Episode 8

Kambria Mellum is a natural leader.

When the moment calls for light-hearted fun - she can bring it.

When the moment calls for focus, intensity, and leading by example - she can bring it.

Fresh off her third season in Green and Gold, Kambria Mellum has become a mainstay on the backline for the UNBC Women's Soccer team. She's played in 41 career games and has started ALL OF THEM.

Perhaps surprisingly, Mellum's soccer future hit an uncertain patch as high school was winding down and she was not being aggressively recruited by Canada West schools. But a timely conversation with now teammate Kate Rattee, and a conversation shortly thereafter with UNBC Timberwolves head coach Neil Sedgwick changed all of that.

In Episode 8 of "Timberwolves Unleashed" Kambria Mellum shares her story of:

- Growing up on an orchard in Lake Country, B.C. with her parents and two siblings.

- Learning different forms of soccer leadership from Timberwolf greats like Mara McCleary, Kiana Swift, Paige Payne and Hannah Emmond.

- Playing soccer and living life with passion and authenticity while still not allowing herself to feel comfortable or entitled with any success that she's experienced.

- How UNBC and Prince George have profoundly impacted her and have allowed her to feel like she can be her true self on and off the pitch.

All of the above and so much more can be heard on Episode 8 ft. Kambria Mellum on "Timberwolves Unleashed."
