16. How I get discovery calls from social media
It clicked for me this morning—was my approach to booking discovery calls on social media too impersonal? I’ve been rethinking how subtlety and personalization shape our client interactions, especially when people are looking for genuine human connection.
In today’s episode of The Work From Anywhere Agent, I delved into my journey of refining the art of getting potential clients to schedule discovery calls. The realization that saying "book a call" felt too robotic led to experimenting with more inviting and personalized scripts. It’s been a game-changer in how I engage with people across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
I explored various scripts that have worked wonders in converting social media interactions into scheduled calls—without making clients feel like they’re dealing with a salesperson. Whether it's learning about their goals or offering a glimpse of my past client reviews, there’s a subtle yet effective way to connect.
Want to join me on this journey? Tune in to unpack these strategies and see how they can transform your social media outreach. And, as always, feel free to join our ongoing discussion in the Business Systems for Realtors Facebook group. See you in the next episode!

In today's episode we're talking about how to get people to book discovery calls on your calendar from social media. In a previous episode I talked about why we do the discovery call and the difference between the discovery call and an actual consultation, but today we're going to talk more about the how right. So when we think about getting somebody to actually schedule time on our calendar, the first thing to keep in mind is that in most cases, they're going to reach out to you directly. There will be some people who will go to the link in your bio on your social media and they'll just schedule a call there. But the reality is a lot of people they still see you as an actual person and so they're going to want to kind of do the back and forth DM thing. And so, as we go through this process, the first and most important thing to remember is that subtlety is everything right. If you just go in where they reach out and then you're like book a call on my calendar here's the link they're not going to book the call on your calendar because they want to deal with people, they want that personalized touch, and so this is where that philosophy of high tech and high touch come into play. So, with that in mind, this idea of subtlety needs to feel like an invitation, and do not use the words book a call, because when we take the approach of saying just book a call, it doesn't feel personal and it feels like it's serving us, not serving them. So instead, I wanted to give you a couple of very quick, very easy scripts that you can adopt in your DM conversations.
Speaker 1:When somebody reaches out or you are reaching out doing your DM outreach that we recommend from our DM domination bonus that comes along with conversion funnels, and what you'll find is that you will start a lot of conversations and so getting somebody to actually take the step of scheduling time with you again, these scripts just work amazingly. So the first one that I typically use is I would love to learn more about your goals and see how we can help. Right, like so simple and it's very much focused on them, and they're like yeah, that would be great. And so this one I typically use when they kind of reach out and you know they're like oh, yeah, I want to do this and I want to do that. They start giving me the whole story and I'm like great, that's awesome, I would love to learn more about your goals and see how we can help. The next one is it sounds like there's more to chat about here. Would you be open to a quick conversation? And so this one I use in kind of the similar style, except if someone's a little bit earlier in the process and maybe they feel a little nervous, they feel a little apprehensive about talking to a salesperson, we have to make it not feel like a salesperson, right? And so sometimes they'll say, oh well, I'm not ready to do anything yet, and you're like no worries, I just want to make sure that we start putting your game plan together so that way, when you are ready, you know exactly what you need to do, and they're like oh okay, that sounds good.
Speaker 1:Another for my higher D personalities not you being a high D, but the person on the receiving end being a high D using something like just to save the back and forth, here's the link to my calendar, and so that way we can skip all the conversation that we know that they don't want to have to participate in either, and that just gets them directly to the link. The last one that I typically use is do you have some time to chat this afternoon and I'll send it in two messages. I typically use this one when I'm already in relationship with somebody and I want to give them a little bit more of that personal, gentle touch. So, like I said, do you have some time to chat this afternoon? And I would send that as the first message. And the second message would say, alternatively, here's the link to my calendar to schedule some time ahead, and so that's a very easy one where you'll find most people will look at your calendar and they'll just go schedule. Sometimes, if I feel like it's someone who really needs the social proof, I will also say, oh, and, by the way, if you click on that link, you'll also see my past clients and reviews, and so, purely out of curiosity, they'll go and look and in a lot of cases, they'll end up scheduling that way anyways, and so I hope that this has been helpful for you.
Speaker 1:This is a really short episode because I wanted to give you just a couple quick punchy scripts that you can use when you're having conversations in your social media DMs to get somebody from Instagram on your calendar, from TikTok on your calendar, from Facebook on your calendar. Right, and, by the way, you can use these in your video scripts as well. So, as you're introducing yourself, as you're talking about whatever the topic is, you can say something like hey, if you want to chat more about your particular situation, just to save the back and forth, you can go to the link in my bio and schedule some time to chat on my calendar. Like, instead of using book a call on my calendar, use the word schedule some time to chat. It makes a big difference in how it gets received, and so, as always, join our daily discussion in our Business Systems for Realtors Facebook group and I will see you in the next episode.
