18. 3 things I'm doing to stay consistent with my content
Why does consistency feel like climbing Everest when it comes to content creation?” This morning, I had an epiphany about my own struggles with staying consistent—it's often because we’re trying to conquer too much at once.
In today’s episode of The Work From Anywhere Agent, I’m sharing three strategies I've been experimenting with to keep my content flowing without feeling overwhelmed. From batch recording to capturing those raw, in-the-moment insights, and even sticking to a daily mini-routine, I’ve been on a journey to find what truly works.
You'll hear about my own experiences balancing vulnerability and productivity, and how simple tweaks can transform your approach to creating content. Whether you prefer to go all-in for a few hours or spread the work out day by day, this episode is packed with practical tips that might just change the way you look at your content calendar.

I will be the first one to tell you that staying consistent with your content is the hardest part of content, right, like knowing all the content strategy, knowing how to write the hooks, knowing how to create the content, knowing how to do all the things. Marketing and content just sometimes feels like a whole separate job, and so in this episode, I want to talk about the three different things or different ways that you can approach your content, and what I'm kind of experimenting with to get more consistent with my own content. So the first is batch recorded content. Now, batch recording is when you record a whole bunch of content at the same time, right, whether that's audio or video or whatever it ends up being, but you batch record, and in order to make that work, the most important thing is to make sure that you have a plan going into batch recording. What I found for myself is that if I try to plan and record at the same time, it's never going to happen. Neither of them are ever going to happen, because there's something about this idea of being seen that feels really vulnerable, and so when we're planning and outlining the content and then also recording, it just feels like a lot of vulnerability at one time and I know that probably sounds like a crazy way to explain this, but I find that, like when I really do the inner work, that's kind of how I end up feeling, and so outlining, first, doing that one day and then a couple of days or a week or whatever later, going in and batch recording seems to work really well, where you also get to kind of look at your content or look at your outlines with fresh eyes. The other piece of batch recording that I've found to be really helpful is to record the same type of content and specifically short form content. So, for example, I'll batch record a whole bunch of current events with the green screen backgrounds, using the clips of the articles, and I'll just power through like five, six, eight, 10 of them at one time. They take like less than five minutes to record and it's really easy to scroll through the articles in order to get the kind of context of it so that you can talk about the topic.
Speaker 0:The second option is the in the moment. This is where you see people recording reels in their cars. This is where you see people recording reels on, you know, inside of a property. The way that I think of this is. This is kind of the content that you might post on your story, but you decided to post as a reel instead, and that is kind of the idea here, right, like, if you have a great client story, there's a quick lesson something along those lines that you think your audience will resonate with. The in the moment content feels really raw and authentic and organic and so that performs really well.
Speaker 0:The trick to in the moment content performing really well is do not start with hey guys, so my name is X, y and Z or hey guys, I'm talking about ABC. Give the video a really great hook from the very first sentence. The first thing that you say needs to be something that makes them stop scrolling, and you'll find that that actually captures people's attention. I also recommend making sure that you have your captions on, and it's really helpful if you have like a headline on the video so people know what they're watching and what you're going to be talking about.
Speaker 0:The third approach is to do a little bit every day. Now, this is something that a year ago I would have been like you're out of your mind. I'm never going to stay consistent with that, but, for example, with this podcast that you're listening to. I record one episode every single day and I typically outline the episodes on Sundays and then in the mornings, before I start making my calls, I record a quick episode, send it over to my VA and then she's able to do what she needs to do. Now this works really well. If it's a low ask of yourself For me, it doesn't take me long to outline all the episodes on Sundays. Now, when I go into the week, it's going to take me 10 minutes or so to record the episode and for me to stay consistent, I knew that if I was going to take this approach, it was going to have to be audio only.
Speaker 0:Why, like I said before, going back to the whole feeling super exposed and super vulnerable thing, sometimes I just don't want to be on camera, sometimes I want to have my hair in a messy bun and sometimes I want to look ugly and still be able to do a podcast episode. So I knew that this was going to work so long as I could do audio only. But if I'm doing video, I typically prefer batch recording or being in the moment, and so I hope that this gives you a couple of different ways that you can think about your content and, by the way, you don't have to choose one. It could be like you do a certain type of content, you do your talking head content as batch recording and then you also have some of that in the moment stuff and maybe you also incorporate some day-to-day kind of recurring sort of content that gets created. As always, make sure you join our daily discussion in our agent Facebook group and I will see you in the next episode.
