SPEAKER_00:

Hey sis, welcome to the Unmuted CEO podcast. I'm Tammy Maynard. And real talk, I've recorded this intro like four times already because I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted it to sound polished and professional. And like I had it all together. And then I stopped myself and thought, that's literally the opposite of what this podcast is all about. So here's the real version. I'm sitting here in my office. I got my coffee that's probably cold by now. I can hear my kids in the background. And I'm about to have the most honest conversation with you about what it really takes to build a business while being a mom, while feeling invisible, while wondering if you're ever going to be ready enough to show up online. Spoiler alert, sis, you already are. Okay, so let me officially introduce myself. The name is Tammy Maynard. I'm a Gemini, I'm from Central Georgia, I'm a wife, and I'm a mom of six. Yes, six children, including twin boys. And I say that not to brag or make you feel overwhelmed, but to let you know that if I can figure out how to build a business, create content, show up online consistently, and grow my confidence while raising this crew, you absolutely can too. But let me back up, because my story doesn't start with six kids and having a thriving business. It actually starts with a little black girl who was bullied so badly that she spent years, we're talking about decades, sis, questioning her worth. I grew up being told I wasn't good enough, that I was too much or not enough, depending on that day. And that messaging, it stuck with me for a long time. Even as an adult, even as I started building businesses, even as I became a mother, I carried this belief that I needed to stay small, stay quiet, don't take up too much space. And for years, that's exactly what I did. I built businesses in the shadows. I had ideas but didn't share them. I wanted to post on social media so bad, but would literally stare at the screen for about 30 minutes to an hour, overthinking every single word. I would record videos and then delete them before anyone could see them. Does any of this sound familiar to you? The turnaround for me came when I realized that my silence wasn't protecting me. It was suffocating me. And more than that, it was keeping me broke, girl. But serious. Like, let's be real about this. You can't build a profitable business if nobody knows you exist. So I made a decision. I decided that I was going to heal. I was gonna show up. And I was gonna help other women do the same. Because sis, I know I'm not the only one who's been building in silence. So that's why this podcast is this. The Unmuted CEO podcast is for women who has been building her business quietly. Maybe you've been working on it for months or even years. Maybe you have a business that's making a little bit of money. You know, it could be so much more if you just showed up. Or maybe you're a mom who's juggling a full-time or part-time job. Kids, a household, a spouse who doesn't fully get what you're trying to build, and you're wondering how the heck you're supposed to fit becoming visible online into all of that. This podcast is for you. And here's what it's not. This is not a podcast where I'm going to tell you to wake up at 5 a.m. and hustle harder. This is not a podcast where I'm going to show you some perfectly curated version of entrepreneurship where everything is smooth and aesthetic and easy. Since if you follow me on social media, you already know. My content gets interrupted by my kids, even the dog girl. My Zoom calls have toys in the background. I have recorded reels while hiding in my closet because it was the only quiet space in the house. This podcast is about the real journey of building a business as a mom. The messy middle, the self-doubt, the imposter syndrome, the days where you question if this is even worth it. But also the breakthroughs, the wins, the moment you finally hit go live and realize you didn't die. The first time someone buys from you, the realization that you're actually doing this, girl, that's what we're talking about here. So let me tell you how I went from that woman who was too scared to post a simple Instagram story to the woman who now coaches other women on visibility and confidence. It wasn't overnight. I want to be really clear about that. This wasn't some I woke up one day and decided to be confident situation. This was years of intentional healing, journaling, faith, therapy, facing my fears, and taking action even when I was terrified. One of the biggest shifts for me was realizing that confidence doesn't come before action. Confidence comes because of action. Think about it. When have you ever felt confident about something you never done before? You don't. You feel nervous, you feel unsure, you feel like an imposter, but then you do it anyway. And then you do it again and again. And eventually you look up and realize I actually know what I'm doing now. That's how I built my business. That's how I learned to go live on social media. That's how I started this podcast. I didn't wait until I felt ready. I just started. And here's the thing that nobody tells you. Even now, after coaching several women, after building multiple income streams, after showing up consistently for years, I still have moments of doubt. I still have days where I wonder if anyone cares about what I have to say. But the difference now is that I don't let that stop me. I feel the fear and I post anyway. I feel the imposter syndrome and I show up anyway. Because I know that on the other side of my visibility is a woman who needs to hear exactly what I have to say. And sis, the same is true for you. Let's talk about the elephant in the room trying to build a business while being a mom. Okay, girl, we finna get there. Because I think there's this narrative online that you have to have it all and balance it all and make it look easy. And I'm here to tell you, that's a lie. You can't do everything perfectly all at the same time. You just can't. Some days my business gets my best, and some days my kids get my best. Some days nobody gets my best because I'm just trying to survive, and that's okay. The goal is not balance. The goal is integration. The goal is building a business that works with your life, not against it. For me, that looks like batch creating content during nap time or after the kids go to bed. It looks like having my kids occasionally pop into my videos because that's real life. It looks like being honest with my audience when I need to take a break, because life is life. And you know what? My sisterhood respects that. They connect with that because they're living it too. Here's what I want you to understand. Your kids are not a barrier to your business. Your responsibilities as a mother are not holding you back. The reason you're not where you want to be yet isn't because you don't have enough time or because you're too busy. The reason is because you haven't given yourself permission to be visible yet. And I get it, I really do. Because when you're a mom, there's this guilt that comes with prioritizing yourself or your business. There's this voice that says you shouldn't be spending this time with your kids. Or you shouldn't be focusing on your family. But here's the real talk, sis. When you build a successful business, you're not taking away from your family. You're adding to it. You're showing your kids what's possible. You're creating financial security. You're modeling what it looks like to go after your dreams. Your business is not selfish. Your ambition is not selfish. Your desire to be seen and to make an impact and to make money, that's not selfish either. Okay, so let me tell you what you can expect from the Unmuted CEO podcast. First, every episode is going to be a mix of solo episodes. Just me talking to you, like we're having coffee together. And also interviews with other incredible women who are doing the damn thing. Women who have overcome their visibility fears, who have built successful businesses, who have figured out how to balance motherhood and entrepreneurship. Some episodes are going to be super tactical. Like, here's exactly how to bats create a month of content in two hours. Or here's my system for going live on social media without overthinking it. Other episodes are going to be more mindset focused. Because, sis, I can give you all the strategies in the world, but if you don't believe you're worthy of being seen, none of it matters. We're going to talk about imposter syndrome. We're going to talk about mom guilt. We're going to talk about building confidence when you feel like you have no idea what you're doing. We're going to talk about the real, messy, behind the scenes of entrepreneurship. And I'm also going to share my own journey. The wins and the losses. The things that worked and the things that flopped. Because I think one of the biggest disservices we do as business coaches is only showing the highlight reel. You need to know that I've launched offers that nobody bought. I've posted content that got zero engagement. I've had weeks where I made no money. I've cried in my car, wondering if I should just give up or get a regular job. But I didn't. And I'm so glad I didn't. Because on the other side of that struggle is the business I have today. Is the sisterhood I've built. It's the women I get to impact. And that's what I want for you. Here's my vision for you, sis. My vision is that you listen to this podcast, you implement what you learn, and six months from now, you look back and you don't even recognize the woman you used to be. I want you to go from hiding behind your business to being the face of your business. I want you to go from second guessing every post to showing up with confidence and consistency. I want you to go from making a little bit of money here and there to building actual sustainable income streams. But more than that, I want you to feel free, free from the weight of other people's opinion, free from the fear of judgment, free from the beliefs that you're not good enough or ready enough or qualified enough. Because you are. You absolutely are. And I'm not just talking about freedom for you. I'm talking about generational freedom. When you step into your power as an entrepreneur, you change the trajectory of your entire family. Your kids watch you build something from nothing. They watch you overcome fear. They watch you make money doing something you love. That's the legacy we're building here. And you're not doing it alone. That's the other piece of this. I've built this incredible sisterhood of women. Women who are on the same journey. Women who get it. Women who will cheer you on when you finally hit post. Who will celebrate your wins with you? Who will remind you of who you are when you forget. That's what we're building. A sisterhood of unmuted CEOs. So here's what I want you to do right now, sis. Number one, subscribe to this podcast.
