SPEAKER_00:

Hey sis, welcome back to the Unmuted CEO podcast, where faith meets visibility and confidence meets purpose. I'm your host, Tammy Maynard, Marpreneur Visibility Coach, Mama Six, and your sister in this season of becoming. Today's episode hits home for so many of us. How to overcome social anxiety as a Marpreneur. Because let's be real, walking into a room full of confident business owners when your hands are shaking and your thoughts are racing. Yeah, I've been there. My hands used to tremble so badly. I'd hide them. My heart would pound with one loud thought. They all see you as just a mom playing business. That fear kept my voice small, girl, and my dreams even smaller. But here's what I learned. Confidence isn't a personality trait, it's a skill you can build step by step. And in this episode, I'm walking you through my three-step confidence CEO method that took me from terrified to talking like I belonged in every room I walked into. So grab your journal and let's get into it, sis. The battle with anxiety starts in your mind. Before you ever step into the room, before you ever open your mouth, you've got to quiet that inner critic. Here's your first assignment. Grab a notebook and draw a line down the middle. On the left side, write the anxious thought. Something like, I'm not as experienced as everyone else. Now, on the right side, reframe it with truth, not faith positivity, but that. Your reframe might look like this. My journey is different. And that's my strength. I bring a unique perspective that someone needs to hear. And sis, let's talk about that identity you think is holding you back, being a mom. That's not a weakness. That's your superpower. Because juggling family and business, that's leadership in motion, girl. You're managing crisis, negotiating with toddlers, and running logistics daily. That's CEO training on a whole other level. So reframe it. My ability to manage a household mean I'm built for complex projects under pressure. You're not just a mom. You're a strategist, a nurturer, and a visionary. All rolled into one. Now, let's talk about what to do before you step into that room. Click join meeting or walk into that networking event. Anxiety is physical, so we need physical tools. I call this your pre-meeting ritual. First, grounding. Do box breathing. Inhale for four seconds. Hold for four seconds. Exhale for four seconds. Hold for four. Repeat this four or five times. You're telling your nervous system, I am safe. I can handle this. Second, preparation. Don't screw up what you're going to say. That makes you sound robotic and ramps up pressure. Instead, prepare curiosity questions. Things like, what's the most exciting project you're working on right now? That's just the focus from performing to connecting. Third, affirmation. Speak your reframed truth out loud. I belong in this room. My voice matters. My perspective is valuable. Say it with your chest, sis, because your words shape your energy, and your energy introduces you before you even speak. Now, before we move into the final in the moment strategy, if this episode is resonating with you, sis, do me a quick favor. Take a second to subscribe to the Unmuted CEO podcast so you never miss an episode. Share it with another woman who's been shrinking herself out of fear. And tag me at the unmuted CEO so I can celebrate your courage. We're building a movement of unstoppable Marpreneurs, and I want you in that circle. Alright, let's get into this last step. You're in the meeting, your heart's racing, you feel that silence getting louder. Here's the trick. I call it the speak up early strategy. The longer you sit without talking, the more pressure builds. So within the first five to ten minutes, say something. It doesn't have to be profound or perfect. You could agree and expand on someone's point or ask a clarifying question. Like, that's an interesting point. How did you decide to approach it that way? The goal isn't perfection, it's participation. The moment you speak, you tell your brain, see, I can do this. You move from being an observer to being an active voice. And that's where confidence is born in the doing. So that's the confidence CEO method, sis. Let's recap. Step one, reframe your thoughts. Your journey as a mom is not your limitation. It's your leadership training. Step two, use your pre-meeting ritual. Breathe, prepare, step three, speak early and watch your confidence multiply. You're not just a mom playing business. You're a founder, a leader, a CEO. And sis, I'm so proud of you for choosing courage over silence. Now I'd love to hear from you. What's one step you'll try this week?
