Fear Tried To Mute You; We Changed The Settings

Silence can feel safe, but it slowly starves purpose. Today we lean into a different standard—one where obedience beats approval and impact matters more than applause. We share a raw journey of speaking openly about faith and visibility, losing followers, and finding fruit that numbers can’t measure. If you’ve felt the tug to step up but waited for permission, this conversation gives you language, tools, and courage to move.

We start by unlearning performance: that trained habit of being agreeable and quiet even when your spirit says otherwise. You’ll hear the core reframes that change the game—performance says look at me, purpose says look at God through me—and how that shift turns content, business, and everyday conversations into ministry. We talk about creating to connect rather than convince, serving from stillness, and finding influence without image. Then we tackle fear head-on with a simple breath practice and clear declarations to replace the lies that keep you small.

You’ll walk away with focused journal prompts to identify where you’ve been silent, what fear has delayed, who needs your words, and what choosing obedience looks like this week. We close with a prayer for holy boldness, asking for clarity, compassion, and courage to speak in rooms that once felt too big. Your life is the microphone. Every conversation, every caption, every yes to God can carry light into places algorithms will never reach.

SPEAKER_00:

Alright, sis, if you're still with me, take a deep breath. You've made it through the first part, the part where we acknowledge the weight of silence. Now it's time to move into the work, because being the woman God called you to be means walking in obedience, not approval. It means understanding that your voice is not about ego. It's about impact. And it means detoxing from the fear that's been telling you to shrink. Since we live in a world that runs on approval, like, comments, views, tiny digital dopamine hits that try to measure our worth. But obedience to God rarely goes viral. It often looks quiet, unnoticed, and uncomfortable. When God called me to start speaking openly about faith and visibility, I lost followers. People said she's getting too deep. Or she used to be fun and it hurt. But the fruit that followed proves something. Obedience produces impact that approval never can. If you're afraid of disappointing people, remember Galatians 1 10. Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings or God? If I was still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Every time you obey, even when it costs you claps, heaven applauds, and that sound is so much sweeter. Let me ask you, where in your life are you still waiting for permission from people God never told you to consult? What room are you avoiding because you think you need credentials instead of calling? Since obedience opens doors that validation could never knock on. The next lesson is about unlearning performance. Maybe you grew up believing that being good meant being quiet, agreeable, or non-confrontational. So now, as a grown woman, you perform peace instead of pursuing purpose. You smile through meetings you should be leading. You say it's fine. When your spirit is screaming, it's not. Since God isn't asking you to perform for him, he's inviting you to partner with him. Performance says look at me. Purpose says, look at God through me. When you chase purpose, you stop competing and start contributing. Your content, your business, your voice, it all becomes ministry. And ministry isn't always a microphone. Sometimes it's a DM, a caption, a conversation with another mama who's on the edge of giving up. Ask yourself, am I creating to connect or to convince? Because connection heals. Convincing drains. You can serve from stillness. You can influence without image. You can shine without striving. That's the beauty of purpose. It lets you adhere. It lets you exhale. Now let's talk about the thing that keeps so many of us quiet. Fear. Fear of judgment. Fear of failure. Fear of getting it wrong. But underneath every fear is a lie. The enemy whispers, if you speak up, they won't like you. God declares, if you stay silent, they won't heal. So let's do a detox right now. Close your eyes if you can. Take a slow breath in through your nose for four seconds. Hold for four. Exhale for four. Now say this with me quietly. I release the fear of being seen. I release the fear of not being enough. I release the fear of rejection. Now replace it with truth. I am appointed for this. My words carry healing. I am safe to be heard. Since when you trade fear for faith, your voice finds volume without force. You stop shouting and start shining. Alright, see, we've walked through obedience, purpose, and letting go of fear. Now let's land this episode the way I always want you to end your week. Grounded, grateful, and ready to move. Grab your journal, or if you're driving, just speak these out loud. I want you to get honest, not filtered, not polished, just real. Write or think through these questions. Number one, where in my life have I been quiet when God was nudging me to speak? Two, what conversation, proposed, or project have I delayed because of fear of judgment? Three, who suffers when I stay silent? And four, what would it look like this week to choose obedience over approval? Now underneath those, write this declaration in big bold letters. My silence no longer serves me. Say it again until your spirit believes it. Because every time you speak truth, heaven echoes back. That's my daughter. Maybe your silence started as self-protection. You were told, don't rock the boat. But sis, the same God who claimed the storm also called Peter to step out of the boat. And it's time for you to step out too. Let's pray together. If you can, close your eyes and lift your hands just a little. Open palm, ready to receive. Father, thank you for every woman listening right now. You see her heart, the dreams she's buried, the words she swallowed, the call she's tried to quiet. But tonight, God, we ask for holy boldness. Remind her that her voice was heaven designed. Remind her that you don't make echoes. You make originals. For every moment she's felt dismissed, restore her dignity. For every room she felt too small to enter. Widen her confidence. For every time she doubted, whisper again, daughter, I chose you. We silence every lie that says she's unsqualified, unseen, or unheard. And we declare that she will speak with clarity, compassion, and courage. Let her words heal homes. Let her content carry light. Let her business become ministry, and let her obedience outshine every ounce of fear. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Since take this moment in. You don't need to wait for someone to hand you the microphone. Your life is the microphone. Every conversation, every caption, every yes to God amplifies his glory. You were never called to stay quiet. You were called to stay faithful. So speak with love. Lead with humility and live like your obedience matters because it does. There's a generation of women waiting for the sound of your courage. Let them hear it. If this episode spoke to your heart, do me a favor. Share it with another woman who's been dimming her life. Tag me on Instagram at Tammy Maynard underscore official. And tell me your biggest takeaway. Drop the words I will not stay silent in the comments so I can cheer you on personally.
