GySgt Tawanda “Tee” Marie Hanible (USMC, Ret.) is a national force, a decorated Marine, a bestselling author, a hands-on advocate, and an award-winning entrepreneur, transforming the worlds of veteran support, youth mentorship, cannabis wellness, and social justice 365 Days a Year! After 20 years of decorated service as a U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant — including deploying as the only woman in her unit during the Iraq War — Tee transformed her battle-tested grit into a lifelong mission to uplift veterans, at-risk youth, and underserved communities across the country. As the founder and CEO of Operation Heroes Connect, Tee has personally ensured that thousands of at-risk youth, many from foster care, poverty, or trauma-impacted homes, have received life-changing mentorship, leadership, and opportunity. Every year, she works to send 100 underserved youth to an overnight summer camp, covering all costs and ensuring they have nutritious meals, emotional support, fitness, and the chance to be kids.


For veterans, Tee has worked relentlessly to help them secure their disability ratings or successfully appeal for higher benefits, directly improving the lives of those who have served. She has facilitated critical community functions like the Veterans Holiday Party in Chicago, serving over 100 veterans with warm meals, holiday gifts, and access to essential services. She has led countless homeless dinner services across Woodbridge, Dumfries, Stafford, Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., helping feed thousands of individuals facing hard times making sure they are met with hot food, warm coats, love, and dignity, especially during the holidays and the coldest seasons when they need it most. Tee made history as the National Veterans Chair for the Women’s March — the largest single-day protest in U.S. history since the 1970s, helping organize and elevate veterans’ voices on the world stage, earning national headlines on CNN, MSNBC, The Washingtonian, Newsweek, and the Chicago Tribune.

In 2020, she also led the Veterans March on Washington alongside Rev. Al Sharpton for the historic 57th Anniversary March, ensuring veterans stood united across backgrounds and beliefs to fight for justice, equality, and national unity. Her bestselling book, The Warrior Code (2019), is actively used by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) to help veterans navigate PTSD and mental health challenges, extending her influence beyond the stage.
