Change is in the air! I’m recording this quick update from my home base at Duxford Airfield to share some news and updates about the podcast.

Hi there and welcome back. I'm recording these short episodes from Duxford Airfield, the home of the Imperial War Museum and also where I am based. You might have noticed a change when you hit play today in this podcast. The name of the show has changed. What used to be the pilot's logbook and my other show travel plans is now officially under one roof Fernando's logbook. So I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you why I'm doing this and more importantly what it means for you. To be honest, the world feels a bit heavy and automated lately. We are constantly surrounded by big corporations and a non-stop cycle of gloomy news and an explosion of AI generated content that can feel a bit hollow. You might agree with me that at times it's getting hard to find something real. I've realized that I'm not here to play by the rules imposed by an algorithm. I never set out to chase trends or to hunt for clicks in the first place, and I don't want a piece of software dictating what I should say, when I should say it, and who is going to listen to it. I want to talk to you simply as a peer and as a friend, as a fellow pilot and traveller. We are here for the hobbies we love. To learn about flying, to discover beautiful places that actually exists, and to connect to real people. I want to make this show more personal because I guess I want to talk to you as one of you and not as a search engine result. And because of that, I want to make a promise to you. In a world flooded with content generated by AI, this show is staying human. We don't use generative AI to produce these episodes, and every engine roar you hear, every photo or video you see on the website, is something I've captured myself in the real world. So I want to be clear. When I talk to you about a destination you can fly to, it's because I've actually landed there and seen it with my own eyes. If it is in this logbook, it's because it was a real experience and you can have it too. And I have to tell you a quick story about this. I've actually had people contacting me asking where I found Joy's AI voice. For those who never heard the show before, Joy is my co-host on these podcasts. It honestly makes me laugh, but it's also a bit sad. Joy isn't AI, she's very real, incredibly talented, and uh hardworking voice actor that I've been working for a couple of years now. The fact that we've reached a point where people assume that a beautiful human voice must be a machine just proves why I need to make this promise. Even the music you hear right now is composed by real artists, real people making a living because of listeners like you. I want to give you something real, moments you can share with your family or a friend, or an adventure that sparks your own next flight. So, what's the plan? I like to think of each episode now almost like a magazine. You will have your travel guides, the chats with people that can teach us a lot, and the stories from the cockpit, all in one place. All the curated guides and travel stories from travel plans are now part of these podcasts. We've got plenty of destinations already recorded from our previous episodes, but we have so many more to come. Because I want to show you the world as I see it when I'm recording these episodes, these podcasts, I also want to put more focus on video and photography. It's not a lecture, it's just a space for conversations with people in our community who have something valuable to share. In the past, we've had guests talk about everything from the logistics of flying to Europe or how to become a professional pilot to more practical things like flying with your pets or even how to wash your plane like a pro. Those are exactly the kind of chats that we will continue here. Real people teaching us real things about aviation and traveling in general. Before I go, I want to share something a bit personal with you. As as you know, uh English isn't my first language. Um up until now. I've been spending hours, sometimes days, scripting every single word of these episodes. Because I've been scared that if I didn't I wouldn't be good enough for the episode, for my listeners. But honestly, that pressure has been killing me. It it takes so much time to try and be perfect that it's getting in the way of actually sharing the content, sharing the adventures, sharing the flights, sharing the new destinations that I've been exploring. And I've realized that I rather be real with you than spend weeks trying to sound like someone I'm not. So from now on, I'm going to be faster. You might hear a few more mistakes, or I might find a slightly odd way to say something. But it will be me. Just talking to you as a peer and as a friend in many cases. I want to spend less time at my desk agonizing over sentences and spend more time in the cockpit so I can bring you better stories. I hope you you are okay with me being a little less polished and a lot more real. I'm really excited to turn this page with you. At the end of the day, a logbook is a record of our journey, the the places we fly to, and the new experience we find along the way. My goal is to provide the support we all need as pilots to make the most of these hobbies we love. I don't want just to produce content for the internet. I I want to document what I know, the places I visit, and a life of adventure so I can share with my peers who value the craft of flying as much as I do.
