Hey everybody. What's up? Hi.
SPEAKER_06Hi, friends.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Is that your new thing now? The first point point point.
SPEAKER_06Depends on what game I'm playing, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02That means viewers are your friends. No, you should have one that you do every time.
SPEAKER_06I do. Not.
unknownYeah, you don't.
SPEAKER_02You don't.
SPEAKER_06It depends on what game we're playing. It depends how devoted I am to that game, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Don't give me that stink face.
SPEAKER_00You always gotta feel it. Yeah. Well, she's got an attitude, too. Okay. Welcome to Game Verse Pub, uh, the podcast. Today we're doing something very special. It's Olive's player profile episode.
SPEAKER_03Finally, how many podcasts have you been on without doing a player profile?
SPEAKER_06Hmm. Maybe. Oh, wait, let me count on my book. One, two, three, four, five. Oh, already.
SPEAKER_00Can somebody please ask me what a player profile episode is? What is a player profile episode?
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm glad you asked.
SPEAKER_00Well, a player profile episode is one where uh there's one specific guest. Today it's Olive. We'll get to know all about your gaming history. And I gave you some homework for that. You did. And what was that homework?
SPEAKER_06I was overachieved in my homework. Yes. And uh it was just to questions to prepare questions.
SPEAKER_00How many questions did I ask you to prepare?
SPEAKER_06Three.
SPEAKER_00How many did you do?
SPEAKER_06Four.
SPEAKER_00Let's see if we have time. Uh so for each bonus question. Exactly. Yeah, okay. So for each question, you have uh multiple answers. I do. So for every one of them, uh we'll we'll get talking, try to figure out what might be the right answers. Um you can decide if you want to try to trick us, but you can't lie. You can omit to say something, but that can be a tell. You can play mind games, can do whatever you want, but in the end you cannot lie.
SPEAKER_06So, like my fifth amendment.
SPEAKER_00One must not lie. Tell lies, right? Is that the Harry Potter thing? I must not tell lies.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Okay. But it's also, I think, uh, one in the seventh came out. I I didn't go to church. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I must not tell lies. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that's why he doesn't know.
SPEAKER_00So just before we get there, so of course we have Olive, the player profile uh person. We have uh a little image there for you.
SPEAKER_06It's so cute. Yeah, there we go.
SPEAKER_00Uh we got the beer guy. Yeah, you this guy, uh, we make sure to invite him, or else it costs money to the other ones who uh are acting beer guy. So we need to save on uh a few bucks. And the uh well, he's the beer guy for a reason. Yeah. Beer guy supplies. Yes.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I like this. Should get the t-shirt made.
unknownOoh.
SPEAKER_02Um logo and then face with two beers. Oh my god, beer guy supplies. Nice, that'd be great. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_00I'd wear it. Um, and we also got one of the another OG four. Yeah, right. Original four uh podcast uh members of this uh beautiful podcast. Hello G.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, G.
SPEAKER_00G.
SPEAKER_02Because you're a genius sometimes. Yeah. Not what my girlfriend says sometimes.
SPEAKER_01Hear that, honey? I'm a genius.
SPEAKER_04Tell me, I'm smart.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, no, I'm glad to be here. Thank you for inviting me. Yes. Um, yeah, I'm looking forward uh to this because I do not know you at all. It's the first time meeting you, actually.
SPEAKER_06We talk a lot, but we never met.
SPEAKER_02We do? Yeah. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06Well, on our messenger.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. With the yeah, with the with the chat and stuff. Yeah. So now you've met for the first time ever in real life. Yes. Uh, and you uh as doing your player profile, you chose your cast.
SPEAKER_04All right.
SPEAKER_00So you were stuck with me because, well, I'm the host and there's no moving me around over here. Uh, but you chose specifically the beer guy. Why'd you choose the beer guy?
SPEAKER_06Because we did Hogwarts together and I loved it.
SPEAKER_00You lost your podcast virginity with this guy. Amongst others.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And he also brings beer. He also brings beer.
SPEAKER_06He does bring beer, but yeah. No, I think we had like a good chemistry too when like we did the Hogwarts and it was like just a good vibe.
SPEAKER_00Nice. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I like to go off vibes.
SPEAKER_00That's vibes. Yeah. Um, and why'd you choose this guy?
SPEAKER_06I never met him yet.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you like the the new.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's the mystery.
SPEAKER_06It's the mystery. Yeah. Yeah. We never met yet, so I figured why not?
SPEAKER_00Oh, there you go. I'm gonna have zero questions right.
SPEAKER_06That's not gonna happen.
SPEAKER_05I'm sure you'll get some right. I'm sure you'll get some right.
SPEAKER_00You know what? Who's the actual mastermind of these games is this guy. Like, he will like figure out the nuances in your face ticks, and it's like, oh, because of that, this is the answer. Watch your face ticks.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, watching.
SPEAKER_00The answer is A. Damn it. Oh, dude, if it's A, that's crazy when it's quite. Alright, so before we get started, okay, guys, just I know you know. Okay, everybody at the same time, the most important thing in the world is uh that was good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean health and love too. Oh, yes. Yeah, lotioning.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, lotioning.
SPEAKER_02Why'd you go there though?
SPEAKER_00Because you went there at some point. Yeah, that's funny. It was funny. Lotioning. So now that we've established what the most important thing in the world is, we got somebody designated for that.
SPEAKER_06All right, and today beer guy supplies.
SPEAKER_03Always, always. And uh today, um, as you know, yesterday I stopped by Beyond the Pill and I grabbed a few beers uh over there. Uh so we're gonna have a choice to make. So I got two different beers. Uh they're both darker beers.
SPEAKER_06I didn't know if you like dark beers, but I'm gone for anything.
SPEAKER_03So the first beer, it's called The Darkness. I want that one. Ooh, the darkness. So that's an oatmeal stout. For me, it's one of the best stout in Ottawa. Okay. Wow. And also another dark beer. Because, you know, you've got to get a second one. Dublin up, Dublin or nothing. Dublin or nothing. I like that one. So, yeah, that's an Irish stout road. It's almost like a Guinness, but a craft beer, so it has a like a more chocolate note, roasted note, so better than Guinness.
SPEAKER_06I love chocolate. I like that. So I like the name of the other one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's your episode, you make your choice.
SPEAKER_06Oh no. Oh no. I like the sound of the chocolate one, but I love the name of the other one. Oh my god, just go whatever. Surprise me. You have to choose. No, surprise me.
SPEAKER_02It's like Sophie's choice all over again.
SPEAKER_03Well, gee, which one do you want?
SPEAKER_02Um okay, fine, sure. I'll take the Dublin.
unknownDublin.
SPEAKER_00Dublin or nothing? Dublin. Buddy, which one did you did you uh oh this one you think is the most uh the best one in Ottawa?
SPEAKER_03But the other one might be very good.
SPEAKER_06I have to go with the darkness. I just love the name of it and it kind of like it talks to the bigger. Winner gets the best one.
SPEAKER_00Rock, paper, scissors, rock, paper, scissors. Do we do the shoots thing?
SPEAKER_03Oh, we gotta just rock, paper, scissors.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Rock, paper, scissors. All right. Which one do you want?
SPEAKER_03The best one. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god, I almost opened it.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_06Oh, look at this side of the table. There's a line that crosses that we're like, we're on the darkness side.
SPEAKER_00We're on the dark side. Doubling or nothing. Uh, my friends, let's get crack it.
SPEAKER_03I was late too.
SPEAKER_06No worries.
SPEAKER_03And gee, you can pour aggressively. It's a nitro style. How can we pour? Uh, just gently.
SPEAKER_00ASMR, am I right?
SPEAKER_05It's pour.
SPEAKER_00We're rich.
SPEAKER_06What are you doing?
SPEAKER_03I'm not screwing this up.
SPEAKER_06Bring your cup like this way a little bit.
SPEAKER_03There you go. Come on, come on, get some foam in there.
SPEAKER_06He's nervous. No, don't put it straight.
SPEAKER_03It's the pouring pressure. No, you can at that point. Yeah. Yeah. Just go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There we go. He was nervous.
SPEAKER_03That's okay.
SPEAKER_06He was nervous. Keep saying that.
SPEAKER_01Great, honey. Okay. Alright.
SPEAKER_00Oh. Oh, that looks good. They all look good. Yeah, that looks good. Thank you very much for your generosity, sir. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for having a player profile.
SPEAKER_02Participation too.
SPEAKER_00And thank you, viewers, for watching this. Um, wait, yeah, this one. You want to do it? Let's go. As soon as we tap. Okay. Cheers, everybody. Cheers.
SPEAKER_02I succeeded in pressing.
SPEAKER_06Interesting.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's good. Oh shit, that's a good thing. Delicious.
SPEAKER_06I've never, I don't think I've ever drank a dark beer, but it's good.
SPEAKER_02I taste the chocolate. I'm going for seconds.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. There's like a like this. I don't drink coffee, but like there seems like there's a no coffee. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Roasted, like a it's roasted malts and it it's basically sugars. So the more you roast the sugar, the more it's gonna get like a coffee, chocolatey taste. So it's really good. Yeah. Love dark beers.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I've never had one. It's really good.
SPEAKER_03No more thrills for the pills? Oh, both. It just depends on the time of uh year, day, or in 30.
SPEAKER_00This will be episode, I don't know when we're gonna publish it, but uh 30 to 47, 38 to 40 about. Uh have we ever had a dark beer on the show? I don't think so. No, huh? I think this is the first time you had a dark beer. Oh my god. There you go. So um how about we just get started? Okay. You want to say question number one? Okay. Let's go. Let me get my book out. Oh my god. I'm so nervous. I can't believe you were stressed for this.
SPEAKER_06I just I just I just hope my game like my games, my my questions are like good enough, you know?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06This one you might know. So I'm not gonna- I don't know if it's a good one. Is that is this one?
SPEAKER_00Okay, so if if it's clearly obvious that I know, I I won't answer. Okay. But if I'm on the fence, that means that's I feel like you'll know this one. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so what game made me fall in love with gaming? So A, there's Duke Newcomb 3D on PlayStation 1.
SPEAKER_02Wow, okay, you're going.
SPEAKER_06I'm going far. By the way, I have no idea. B Mar Mario on Nintendo. Which one? That one.
SPEAKER_03The OG. Three?
SPEAKER_06No, like the Mario One on Nintendo, yeah. Mario Brothers. Spyro the Dragon.
SPEAKER_02On PlayStation 1.
SPEAKER_06PlayStation 1. Like, and Meta Evil also on PlayStation 1.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Meta Evil. That was good. Yeah. I remember that game. Wow.
SPEAKER_06This is one like the these are like old games I don't think a lot of people have ever like came back to think about, you know.
SPEAKER_02So Meta Evil. Interesting. I just want to say.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, go.
SPEAKER_02You've got one shooter, you've got a 3D platformer in Spyro, you have a regular platformer with Mario, D N E S, and you have Meh Medieval, which is like a third person action game, right?
SPEAKER_03Um I I find it's it gets close to almost um what's that uh that cartoon there that's um Oh geez, I The Nightmare Before Christmas.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah, that's the same thing. I find the characters are very much alike. Medieval so the character.
SPEAKER_00Like Medi, Medi and Med-E.
SPEAKER_06M-E-D-I, and then evil.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Is it like in in in medieval times?
SPEAKER_06Not even. It's like an dark game though.
SPEAKER_02Can you describe uh the Mario game that you've played? Because I know you said you played like oh that one and you pointed the NES, but there's three on NES.
SPEAKER_06This is the first one that ever came out of the pros, yeah. Yeah, the pros, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So um can you take us through the games and explain how those games came to be on your list?
SPEAKER_00Let's start with Duke Nukem. Which one?
SPEAKER_06Uh Duke Nukem, the 3D one. So the one that came out on PlayStation. Because there's one that came out before I think it was like computers. Yeah. So that one came out and it wasn't the same. So the 3D one was PlayStation one. That's like really where I started my gaming as a PlayStation. Well, Nintendo, and then PlayStation was my next step, I guess you can say.
SPEAKER_03Was it on the demo?
SPEAKER_06It was what on the demo?
SPEAKER_03Uh the the Duke Nukem game.
SPEAKER_06No, I had the game game.
SPEAKER_03Okay, but like I you know, whenever you bought the PlayStation 1, there was a game with all sorts of demo games on it. God it was it that version? I don't remember that far. You went to a strip club and uh there was like uh pigs and PG podcasts. Oh no, it's Duke Nukem.
SPEAKER_02Duke Nukem is like all over the place. Yeah, yeah, it's all over the place. Very graphic and yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like not meant for me to play at that age. Really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Okay, so ca can you please repeat the question?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so what game made me fall in love with gaming?
SPEAKER_00Oh, deep.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_00What game made you fall in love with? Okay, so that's so that means it would have been at an early age. So Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I was uh I think my sister was seven, um, eight, nine, that's probably like eleven.
SPEAKER_00For Duke Nukem.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, for all the PlayStation One games for sure.
SPEAKER_00I got my answer. Okay. Um so so for Duke, okay.
SPEAKER_06And I got my answer.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_06What about Wow?
SPEAKER_00You just had to do it.
SPEAKER_06So confident.
SPEAKER_00You just had to do it. No, I am very confident. I have an explanation. Perfect. That's perfect. You can you can have your answer, but I have more questions.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I have to talk to you. So um Spyro.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_00Spyro. What's this about again? Is it that little like that dragon? That orange just dragon. A purple dragon that like there's no orange on him?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_00Is is like maybe the cover of the game? There's some more.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, he spits fire.
SPEAKER_00Oh, fire is orange, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Oh my gosh, that's not.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um, and then he has like a little fairy that follows him around too.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06So you go like uh retrieve eggs and whatnot and battle.
SPEAKER_03What'd you like the most about that game?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh, she's making a face. That means that's the answer, guys.
SPEAKER_06Um being a dragon. There's like hopping around everywhere, I guess. Like, the dragon hops.
SPEAKER_00Does he not fly?
SPEAKER_06He jumps, he flies, he glides.
SPEAKER_00Oh okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so it's just like you when you jump from like place to place, you like glide. And you have to learn how to glide, you have to learn how to do all sorts of stuff like throughout the game. Um just like all the missions, I guess. Okay. There's not really like one thing in particular that I love.
SPEAKER_00Does it get redundant? Like all you do is just jump and glide?
SPEAKER_06Or is there no no, there's like different missions you can do, like there's different portals you go through, and it's like a different world that you have to like find all the eggs and stuff.
SPEAKER_00Okay, is it a side scroller or is it like 3D world?
SPEAKER_03It's 3D. I find it's very similar to uh the first uh to Mario Mario 64.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03It's a 3D platformer.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Got it. Okay. I mean what what is media evil? Is it another zombie game?
SPEAKER_06You're not a zombie, you're like a like a setting little skinny skeleton that you go like through. Um there are also different stages to like fight off all sorts of things. Um there's one part that you go like through a cemetery, but there's always like something you're fighting to get to the end of the game.
SPEAKER_03Okay, have any of you ever played this game? No. I I've played Meta Evil. Um, I think it was the demo, and the demo made me want to play more of it. Um and honestly, like I I want to go for that game just because I had a lot of fun playing that game, and just you saying it brought back a lot of uh nostalgia.
SPEAKER_06Do it.
SPEAKER_03I I I I like it.
SPEAKER_06So I have replayed it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Is it as good as like does it hold up or I'm not gonna lie, it made me really dizzy.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_06It made me really dizzy to replay it because I think we're so used to now gaming the way we do that having a game like that, um, well, for me at least, like a different angle made me nauseous, but like it's still like you say it's nostalgic, and it's just like it brings like back the shivers and like the oh that's a big tell, but it's too obvious.
SPEAKER_00I know, I know. Like I understand. You kind of uh skipped over Duke Nukem, but whatever. So Super Mario Bros.
SPEAKER_06Um okay I used to play that with my brother all the time when we were little.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, do you get along with your brother?
SPEAKER_06I do.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so there might be some nostalgia there.
SPEAKER_06He was at my house yesterday. He brought the fire truck and everything.
SPEAKER_00What do you mean the fire truck?
SPEAKER_06He's a fireman. He brought the fire truck and a firefighter. He's sorry, he's a firefighter, so he stopped. He's a captain, so he's not allowed to drive the the truck anymore. So um, yeah, he like just knocked on my door and I looked outside and he was there with the damn truck again. That's cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so did all the kids in the neighborhood come out?
SPEAKER_06Um the neighbors usually end up coming out because they're like, oh my god, there's something wrong, and it's so embarrassing, but yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00The firefighters.
SPEAKER_06Well, that and they think something's wrong, but yeah, and I'm just like, oh my god. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I love them, but and did you guys play Super Mario Bros. while he was there working?
SPEAKER_06Working?
SPEAKER_00Well, he was there with his truck, no?
SPEAKER_06No, when we were young. You're an idiot. When we were young, we used to play. No, but yesterday. And I can even remember when he went to your place. He just came to pick something up. Oh, okay. Because he had just battled a fire. So you didn't play. We didn't play yesterday, but we played when we were young, and he would uh like do all the hard, harder parts for me. But I still remember the room we played in where we were sitting in front of the that window. I can tell you what was outside.
SPEAKER_00Was it the living room? Nope.
SPEAKER_02Uh no, I'm not certain about the answer.
SPEAKER_06It was it was in my mom's room. She had a TV and we would sit aside like she had a really big bay window, like in her room. I don't know if that makes sense. Um but we would play there, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I don't I don't foresee a Mario game being somebody's origin story into gaming. Like, hey, Mario really put me into gaming, and like I I don't know. It's a great game. A great game, don't get me wrong. I just don't think that it's a turning point for someone to like fall in love with gaming.
SPEAKER_06And I used to play it at the dentist actually, too. They had cool games. Um that's cool.
SPEAKER_00I I personally disagree. I don't think Super Mario is her game, but I I I disagree because for me, if I had that same question, the Super Mario World is my game to answer for that.
SPEAKER_03Not Mario 1.
SPEAKER_00No, I think it's not a good idea for a lot of people. Um I don't think it is for you because when we mentioned that we wanted to do a podcast or just to to to play uh Super Mario Bros. 3 and mentioning retro games the other day, you don't feel like you click with them. You want to play more modern games. So I don't know. I I I wouldn't uh I wouldn't think you're a Mario, uh Super Mario uh. So I'm trying to trying to put myself um in my shoes?
SPEAKER_03In your shoes in Olive's shoes uh when you were a kid. What puts you what puts you into gaming? Uh Duke Nukem, like it's a little violent and it's a little bit, but like yeah.
SPEAKER_06But like when we were young though, I don't think we thought of it like that.
SPEAKER_03Probably not.
SPEAKER_06Because now that I look at it, I'd be like, no kid should be playing the game.
SPEAKER_03But uh, I don't know, maybe your fiery attitude uh for Spiral. Like, I don't know. We'll get her mad. She'll shive us.
SPEAKER_01I shiv.
SPEAKER_00What do you think? You've been quiet, you're never quiet. What's going on? No, I'm not nervous. Um G nervous, yeah, I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02Um I went the logical route, so I don't think that it's Mario because based on your age that you told us before, you were a bit too young. 50? So it depends on the vibe. It depends. It depends on when you played Mario, but then you said I remember when I was a kid, I was playing with my brother.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_02So that means that you probably had Mario when it kind of came up. So that also means that you were way too young to understand what you were doing. You just wanted to play with your brother.
SPEAKER_06Look at him, I think he knows how to game.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. No, no, I was kidding.
SPEAKER_00I think he's onto something and it has a very logical point.
SPEAKER_06It was pretty good.
SPEAKER_02You have three PS1 games. Yep. So you skipped a whole generation of Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, which means you fell out of favor with gaming in between. This guy's smart. That means that we are on the generation of PS16.
SPEAKER_06I am a PS girl. I even have the tattoos.
SPEAKER_02What game made her fall in love with it?
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_02Duke Nugum 3D, I don't think so that you would fall in love just because of the style of the game, unless you're a freak and I don't know. Um, two. Sean. So that leaves us. So that leaves us. I'm going for Duke Nukem. Um that leaves us Medieval, which you speak very highly of, and Spyro the Dragon. Based on your age and when the PS1 came out, I think Spiral of the Dragon is way more whimsical, way more approachable, which meant that, and also you said that you all the levels, you finished all the levels.
SPEAKER_06I never said I finished the levels.
SPEAKER_02You said all the levels at some point, all of the levels. Anyways, you said something along those lines. Okay. That there's a lot of levels. There is a lot of things. That made me think that you completed the game. So my my pick is Spiral of the Dragon.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um first of all. I'm very impressed with your uh analytical uh viewpoints on this. I bring my A game. Yeah, you did you did bring your A game. You let us speak like idiots. Fall on your face. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um I'm gonna leave now.
SPEAKER_00Duke Nukem is the game. If it is Duke Nukem and you are a freak, well, I just want to say this podcast is all about diversity and inclusion. So we can have freaks. Yeah. Monsters and freaks are welcome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Anytime.
SPEAKER_00Um I think I know the answer, but it's because I recall things you've said in the past.
SPEAKER_06That's why I said you'd know the answer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So uh I'll I'll just write it down, and I don't want to say it out before you say your answer, but I think I do know the answer. And but if it's not that, um like yeah, clearly I didn't know, but I I'll go with what I think.
SPEAKER_02It's a good question because it's a great question. Sean knows a lot. It's not the first game she's played, it's the game that made her fall in love with gaming, so that's different.
SPEAKER_00I know a lot because I interviewed her for five hours before knowing that uh she was okay to come on the first podcast, Hogwarts Legacy.
SPEAKER_04That was so scary.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know. I'm like, I'm not gonna have any uh any weirdo come on the pod, right? Five-hour interview was uh pretty much a step.
SPEAKER_06But I waited till we were on the podcast. It's so weird.
SPEAKER_00I can only have one of those. Oh, okay. So I'm the weirdo. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_06Finally found out.
SPEAKER_00He said his answer. What's yours?
SPEAKER_03He didn't say his answer. Yeah, spiral. Spiral? Yeah, spiral. Um I I want to diversify and I want to make this a fun game. Um I'm gonna go with my evil.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, wait. I know it's spiral. Okay, but I'm going with my evil.
SPEAKER_00That's what that's what I want to know because usually you don't go with your what I want, you go with your uh logic. And it's like he's playing that game today. Are you playing it differently? You can tie it. What are you going with?
SPEAKER_06Are you sticking to I'm not telling you what to do with this? No, no, I just I just I have high expectations for you.
SPEAKER_03Oh I'm I'm sorry to disappoint. No, I'm gonna go with Mudai Evil just because I had a lot of fun playing that game, and I remember being like it was a really cool game, but I do think it was Spyro because just Spyro is such a more lovable character and something that really you associate that with Olive? Excuse me.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_03You called me an idiot earlier, alright? Sorry, it's um and I find Spyro was a staple of PlayStation 1 as well. Like, so I I wouldn't go for that, but I'm going to crash bandicoot medieval. Oh my god, they both came out at like at the same time.
SPEAKER_00So you're going medieval? Yeah, okay. You can't after that say, yeah, but honorable mention. Like, no, if you go medieval, you'll lose if it's not that honorable mention to the case. But if you get that's pretty impressive. Okay, so I'll I'll say it after. Did you write it down?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course it was spiral.
SPEAKER_00I got spiral.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's because I've spoken to you about it all the time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you did speak to me about it. How was my analysis? It was good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So Spyro, um what you guys don't know is that all the races and all the scary parts I made my sister do, which was younger than me. Oh. And then this is our me and my husband's like winter Christmas game. And I still make him do all the scary and the races too. But yeah, the scary parts? The scary parts. Like the the the boss battles kind of thing. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00They're scary for her because they're difficult.
SPEAKER_06Yes. So I make him do it by like, yeah, that's like our Christmas game for sure.
SPEAKER_02That's fun. Oh, that's so cool. Yeah, having a Christmas game. That's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00I can't wait to have the uh the the uh gaming couple episode with you and your husband. That's gonna be cool to know that dynamic of what it must be like to he probably thinks I'm so annoying when I play games. Oh, yeah, yeah. But I'm sure he knows he knows that's pretty cool. All right, awesome. Thank you for your first question.
SPEAKER_06For sure. Oh, wait, I have to find my page again. Sorry. Moving on! Next question.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna skip the second one because that's like uh great question.
SPEAKER_06Thank you. Yeah, I was really nervous about my click.
SPEAKER_02Let's hope the other three don't suck.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god. Do we want me to leave now? No, just leave. Um, okay. Well, what's my favorite couch co-op? Ooh, that's so split fiction.
SPEAKER_02Oh shit. I haven't played that one.
SPEAKER_06Plant versus zombie garden warfare. Sorry, I have to wait for someone. Someone's a little slow. Garden Warfare. Yeah, yeah. Plants versus zombies. But there's more than one, so it's the garden warfare one.
SPEAKER_03Is there more than one on your list? No. Okay. That's what I'm telling. Wait, what is the first one again?
SPEAKER_06Uh split fiction. Oh yeah. It takes two or a way out. Okay. So split fiction, it takes two, and a way out are all created by the same people, which is uh haze light.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. What was the third one? Which one? Uh the third one? It takes two.
SPEAKER_00It takes two.
SPEAKER_06And then a way out.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Which ones are created by the same one?
SPEAKER_06Uh Split Fiction, It Takes Two, and A Way Out.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. So you just got Planet vs. Zombies that is a different one. Yeah. Sound like those uh villagers in the Minecraft. Planet vs.
SPEAKER_02Zombies is is on which platform?
SPEAKER_06Uh everything's on PlayStation. I'm a PlayStation girly.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay. And it was uh oh yeah, wait. I played that. Yeah I played that with my brother super.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and these are all games where you have to play. Um I think Plant vs. Zombies you can play alone though. Uh but the three others you have to play with someone. Like it's a very co-op game.
SPEAKER_02Who did you play it takes two with?
SPEAKER_06Really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I have to ask.
SPEAKER_06My husband.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course. Okay. That's a divorce game, right? No. Uh it takes two.
SPEAKER_06It takes two is the divorce.
SPEAKER_02No, it's about an actual divorce.
SPEAKER_05Yes. It's about an actual divorce.
SPEAKER_02I thought it caused divorce. Sorry. I know.
SPEAKER_06It could cause divorce. It could cause divorce.
SPEAKER_02No, it's because I thought that's because divorces. No, no, but it was super mario.
SPEAKER_06It is a game that could cause divorce, 100%. Yes. Yes. Yeah, because it makes you You have to work to g every single game you have to work together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it makes you think about your own relationship too.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Which is with the that that book uh what uh Hakeem, the Book of Love.
SPEAKER_00Isn't the Book of Love, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I didn't play it, but I saw my my kids did play it, and but I was watching for the f the first part, and you see like it's a real it's a situation where two parents are getting uh divorced and but then they're because of the book of love or magic, they're brought into like the real world, but as two little little dolls or whatever, and they have to work together to uh I d to I don't know. I don't know the story enough, but uh I'm guessing, please don't spoil it. At the end, they get back together. That's what that that that I'm like oh well I probably know the ending. This would be stupid if they don't fucking fix their their marriage, so so uh that's fair, or they don't. Hey, maybe one day, maybe one day I'll play it.
SPEAKER_05He hasn't played it, you haven't played it, no, so we won't tell you, you never know.
SPEAKER_00So I'll say at the end why I don't think this is the answer.
SPEAKER_05Okay, you'll say at the end, yeah, because I don't want to influence others.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I already did. Okay, so I'm just gonna say it. I don't think this is the answer because on a previous episode um we didn't mention a divorce game and we had that same kind of argument, not argument, but uh oh the it takes two's a divorce game, then you're like, it's an actual divorce. You know what I just did to you? She did it to me the other day. Oh, okay. Because me too. It was to me, it was like talking about divorce games like that you don't play with your spouse because you'll want to kill them. Yeah, um, and but I thought that was a good game. Murder. I didn't I didn't see how that game Where are the tomatoes?
SPEAKER_06I haven't played that one.
SPEAKER_00I didn't see how it takes two would be a bad game for couples. Like it looks fun, it doesn't look like you can ruin somebody's time, can you?
SPEAKER_06Well it depends how it depends if your other half is a player, a game, like a gamer. Playing the game and losing with some shit. I think it depends if it depends if your other half or whoever you're playing with is an actual gamer. Because you you s in like co-op games, I feel like you you still need skill to play co-op games because you have to work together. So I mean you need the patience, right?
SPEAKER_03Okay. Okay. Um I want to hear more about plants versus zombies because I know you like plants, I know you like zombies. You probably have a garden warfare out in your backyard.
SPEAKER_06I mean I wish so. It's like a 3D game. Um, so basically the plants are killing the zombies, the zombies are like invading everything. Um so you have to go and you can be like a sunflower, you can be like I don't know what they're called, but it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_02Isn't it like is it is it like the team deathmatch one?
SPEAKER_06You can do kind of like a team deathmatch one. But if you're like you can be a sunmatch, it's a 3D, right? Yeah, yeah. So I wish I had like a picture of it, but like you could be like a big sunflower. There's so many characters you can pick from.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um and then you like go around. It's it's really cool, yeah. So you like go around and you're like, you have to kill the zombies if the zombies come after you, and it's like it's thrilling.
SPEAKER_02But why is it a couch co-op?
SPEAKER_06Uh, because you can play up to like four players on this game.
SPEAKER_02Uh huh. Yeah. Split screen four players. On a couch.
SPEAKER_06That's why they call it that. Yeah, so that one's uh yeah, it's a couch co-op for sure.
SPEAKER_00It wasn't that wasn't that like a mobile game, Plans vs. Zombies back in the day.
SPEAKER_02Back in the Angry Birds days, there were it is, but it's a different type of game what you're describing. I think it's like the hero that match shooter.
SPEAKER_06It's so pretty, too. Like it's a good game to play, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're the only one who would find zombie things pretty.
SPEAKER_06No, but like, I mean, like the the cartoony-ish of it, like the art of it is very, very cool and very pretty. Yeah, the zombies are like super cute. Look well, cute. They're cute. They're cute looking. Stand by, that's okay. They're darn all.
SPEAKER_00I'll ask this about this game, and it'll come for every other one as well, because I think it's an important thing to consider, boys. Um what's the replayability on this game? I know there's not much for it takes two, because once you know the story, you know the story.
SPEAKER_06So you can replay it all the time. You can replay it all the time.
SPEAKER_00What about it takes two? Have you replayed it?
SPEAKER_06Yep. I'm not even kidding. I've replayed all the co-op games. All of them? Yes.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Which one have you replayed the most?
SPEAKER_06I can't even tell you because I've replayed all of them. I played the fifth. I played the fact. No, but like I seriously replay all of them. Like when you especially have like rainy days or like especially in winter when we're just like, well, now we have the dogs because we live we bring them for walks, but like when we have nothing to do or like it's snowing and I don't want to go outside, we will replay platform like the co-op games.
SPEAKER_00Imagine gaming as much as this.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, but we have older kids too, so it's not as bad, right? We'll get there. Yeah. So we love to like replay co-op games, and we're always looking for new co-op games to play. Okay. So it's definitely like we've replayed every single one of those games.
SPEAKER_02Step one, have a partner that also games.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Step two, get Battle Block Theater. Oh my god. Oh no, you don't game on Steam. Oh my god. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I love it so much. I wonder if it's on PlayStation. I did, I didn't know. Scratchers is probably.
SPEAKER_06I did look into getting a Steam, but they don't sell them anymore.
SPEAKER_02Getting a Steam or getting a Steam Deck? Like the Steam Deck, yes. Ah yeah. Yeah, I know. It sucks.
SPEAKER_06It sucks that they're I went on the website, they're like, non for sale. Okay.
SPEAKER_02So split fiction and split fiction. I'm assuming that's the one you didn't replay the most.
SPEAKER_06I replayed every single one of those.
SPEAKER_02I know, but the most, I mean. Yeah. Because it came out not too long ago.
SPEAKER_00What is split fiction?
SPEAKER_02Somebody please have.
SPEAKER_06So basically, like there's two girls and they go, they were like into like a uh a writer's uh I don't know how to explain it, world. Yeah, world, and they put them in like a little like bubble and they try to take out like they don't know this is happening, and they try to take out all their information from their brain to be able to like steal them basically. But she falls into the same bubble as the other girl because she was like, This is getting a little weird, and then so they fall into like a science, science sci-fi slash fantasy world. So you kind of like flip-flop and you have to work again, you have to work together to be able to apparently it's very good.
SPEAKER_02Very good, yeah. So, yeah. How good?
SPEAKER_06Very good. I I've replayed it a few times.
SPEAKER_00Did you say it's your favorite best out of the four games?
SPEAKER_06Is it my favorite? We'll never know.
SPEAKER_01We'll never know. Well, yeah, we will know.
SPEAKER_03We will know.
SPEAKER_06We will know eventually.
SPEAKER_03Is it the kind of game that you would play on the couch? Away out.
SPEAKER_02A way out. Yep. Uh can you yeah, yeah, the prison game. Yep. Uh it's a prison game.
SPEAKER_06It is a prison game. So you're two prisoners at Escape Prison. You have to work together to escape.
SPEAKER_02Super.
SPEAKER_06I cannot tell you the ending, though. I cannot tell you the ending.
SPEAKER_02You've played? Yeah, I've played. I haven't finished it, but you haven't finished it?
SPEAKER_06No. Okay, I really can't tell you. I cannot tell anyone the ending.
SPEAKER_02No, no. Oh, God. It's good.
SPEAKER_06The ending is good? It's so good. I'm not telling you. I can't tell you the ending. She looks really if I tell you the ending, it's gonna ruin the whole game.
SPEAKER_00Well, I got my pick. Have you played uh A Way Out with somebody? We uh yeah, with Gab. You have to play with it.
SPEAKER_06You have to play with some oh the pretty cowboy. You have to play with someone. Okay. Like these are games you have to play with people. Oh, you can't play alone at all? Except the planned versus zombies. Like it's not a game where you can just play alone.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06Okay, they are not games that you can play alone. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh just so just by uh her ex genuine excitement about a way out, like I wanna go there. Um, but I have a I have a I have something about the plan versus zombies. I'll wait to see what you guys answer before I give my thoughts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think there's a replayability uh with plans versus versus zombies. There's an arcadey side that I think you you get mostly like uh for Switch games. Uh you know Switch games are are very good for couch co-ops, Mario parties. I think it kind of brings it together and you can work together and it's not as frustrating. The other three games, and correct me if I'm wrong, but um they're mostly like a story. So once you've done it, you know the story. So there's not there is replayability to do it, but it wouldn't be something that you play the most. What do you do, right? Checking for your tails.
SPEAKER_00Oh poker face. She doesn't have 20 tails, she's just straight hair. Yeah, tail maybe one like that.
SPEAKER_03Where's your tail? I have a no tail like you. Um yeah, so uh I I'm I'm edging towards plants versus zombies as well. Okay, but again, there was a reaction with a way out. And I mean, breaking out of a prison, working with someone, that that's pretty cool too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but once you know it, but once you know how to do it, are you really like okay? What's the fun of redoing it again? So I'm gonna ask G a question.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and a way out. Yeah. Is there different ways to escape the prison?
SPEAKER_02Uh I don't remember. I don't I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03Okay, second question.
SPEAKER_02Have you played the game? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_02I'm looking for your toes. Stop asking me. Okay, so what's your pick?
SPEAKER_03You pick.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you want me to pick first? Yeah. Okay, I am going with Plans versus Zombies. Um for the main reason that you said that the other games are linear, so they end. Obviously, you replayed them because you like them, which is perfectly fine. Plan versus zombies, what got me clicking is your genuine excitement for the characters that are cute and fun and stuff. Yeah. And you said you can play up to four players, which means you can get your whole family involved, which is a nice fun night for a family. So that's my pick.
SPEAKER_06You're influencing all the time.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, we have you on the podcast. Uh I'm just saying, I'm I'm going off of what she feeds. So are you doing plants? I don't know yet.
SPEAKER_04Smoke and plants.
SPEAKER_00Uh I want to go plants versus zombies, but uh I also like I'm stuck like you earlier with you knew it was Spyro, but you wanted it to be something else. Yeah, it's like I thought I I saw an and and a genuine feeling when you were talking about the way a way out. Um so I'm gonna go with that. Again, special mentioned that doesn't count. I won't take credit for it for it, but plants vs. Zombies, even though I put an asterisk next to it. Um but I'm gonna go with uh a way out. Okay. So I just want to say one thing.
SPEAKER_02Although I sounded very confident with my pick, I'm not very confident. The reason why is because split fiction, it takes two, and even I think a way out, they're all they're all very highly rated games. So they're they're like, you know, a split fiction was in uh in the talks for game of the year last year. Really? Okay. So it's a new game. Yeah. So they're all highly rated games. However, the best games are not always the ones you enjoy, the highest rated. You can appreciate them for what they are, yeah. But when you're doing a couch co-op, you kind of want to have fun with with people with you, maybe not play a serious game. So I'm going with that.
SPEAKER_03But that's my pick. So I'm a SG, but I'm gonna ask you, is there different ways to escape the chill?
SPEAKER_05I can't tell you until you play it. I can play it with you.
SPEAKER_00Um my brother doesn't want to play. Can you play online? Uh you have to be on a couch. No, you can play online.
SPEAKER_06Well, he could be sitting on a couch at home and I'll play with him sitting on my own. Well, you can do that.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Okay, okay. But it's not like it doesn't have to be like on one TV with split screen or like whatever.
SPEAKER_06No, you just have to work together.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So what are you going with? Oh, you know, you went with plants. You went with you still haven't decided.
SPEAKER_06He's stressed out.
SPEAKER_00It's between, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I'm not handling them this well. It's okay. Is it right? We're gonna get through this, PL. We're gonna get through this.
SPEAKER_06You're not reading me properly?
SPEAKER_03Uh no, it's just that there's there's there's just two ways of looking at it, and I don't know. Um you know what? I should have met my gut feeling the first time, so I'm gonna go with uh a way out. Boom.
SPEAKER_06So a way out, plants, and a way out.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You are all wrong. No, it's a vision. It was it takes two. Nice. It was good choice. I can see why. I absolutely love playing that game with my husband. He probably hates playing with me because sometimes I have to get him the remote to get by my spot. But yeah.
SPEAKER_00Are you serious?
SPEAKER_06I loved it takes two, yes.
SPEAKER_00That would have been my number four. It was that was the last one.
SPEAKER_06A good game for us to play. Really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you you you're saying it was good for a relationship to play with it.
SPEAKER_06It was good for it tests your relationship a hundred percent for sure. Yeah. Um, and yeah, it was it's a beautiful story. It's a nice story, yeah. For sure. It just teaches like you know, couples to to not just like divorce and just like work at it kind of thing, you know? I just thought it was cute.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's cute. Good story, thank you. Yeah, cuter than uh plants and zombies. Okay, but just for fun, what was your the order?
SPEAKER_06Uh so I would go uh split fiction. I I loved it. For fuck's sakes, but it pissed I that's the one of the like games I I rage quit. Okay because there's one part like I think it was lasers that I just like couldn't laser means laser beans. Um I couldn't like get by. It was kind of um I loved a way out too. We played that one, and then zombie plants vs. Zombies for sure, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay. Nice. Plants vs. Zombies is last.
SPEAKER_06So nope, split fiction was definitely last. Oh, yeah, okay, okay. It was a beautiful game, like uh art styles and everything, but it it really pissed me off. And then like someone gets to like fly a dragon while you're just like rolling around. So that's another thing that pissed me off because I didn't get the dragon.
SPEAKER_00Got it. Makes sense. Checks out though. Yeah, nice kind of insulting, you know. Like, let's all say hi to Aiden and James. Hi guys. Those are my kids. Some of them. Yeah. Third question.
SPEAKER_06Yes, third question. Okay. Which Switch game had me in a chokehold?
SPEAKER_03Oh, wow. In a chokehold. So yeah. Technically, Switch don't have like wires.
SPEAKER_06So like Yeah, they did technically choke me out, but like I could not get off of.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Oh, that's that's what you mean. Like I didn't know what you meant by that. And we just boosted our views by 20% of that.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we should pivot to ASMR. I don't know. Screw you, HR. You mean chokehold as in like you can't put it down.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, I can't put that out. Sorry. Should I probably phrase that better? I just wanted clarification. So the game that like literally had me to chokehold. Untitled Goose Games.
SPEAKER_03Uh Untitled what?
SPEAKER_06Goose games.
SPEAKER_03Goose games.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, untitled goose games.
SPEAKER_00I saw that. I saw that. It looks super fun.
SPEAKER_06I like laughed, cried this whole game.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_06Um Cozy Grove. You guys are writing so fast I can hear it. Do you want my? Yeah. Which ones do you have down? You're not even in the first you're still in the first one.
SPEAKER_03Untitled Goose Games. Untitled Goose Games. Cozy Grove.
SPEAKER_06Cozy Grove, Tiny Bookshop. And then Totally Spies Cybermission.
SPEAKER_03Totally Spies.
SPEAKER_06I'm a girl. What's the last one? Totally Spies. Cybermission. Totally.
SPEAKER_02Goose game. Uh Cozy Girl.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Tiny Bookshop.
SPEAKER_00Alright, I have a lot of questions.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_00Okay, because I know I have no idea what any of those are. Except Tiny Bookshop. This week specifically, one of my friends talked to me about Tiny Bookshop. Like just catching up. Yeah. And obviously, me being me, my question when I catch up with people is so what you been gaming lately? Yeah. Right? Huh? What you been gaming lately? This guy gets it. Wow.
SPEAKER_03World of Warcraft? Yeah. Um so um did the person that you talked to about tiny bookshop say that it uh hold on. How did you say uh it uh how'd you describe it again? It's a tiny bookshop. No, no, it uh it uh it what game uh put you in a hold? Choke hold.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03The person mentioned that the tiny bookshop put them in a chokehold.
SPEAKER_00They did not. Oh but they did say that uh it was something that was related to real books. That's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_04It's so cool.
SPEAKER_00Like if I was a book nerd, I think that would be super fun. It would be for me the equivalent of um trading card game shop simulator, but having real Pokemon or Magic the Gathering cards in there.
SPEAKER_06And if you know me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she does like books.
SPEAKER_03And she does have like books about choking people.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna cut it. We are discovering so much about all this today.
SPEAKER_06Smut books. Yes, I read smut books.
SPEAKER_03Will I have to cut this?
SPEAKER_06No, I don't care. Okay. I read smut books, I don't care.
SPEAKER_03What was the safety word there? Uh papaya. No, no, no, no. No, we had a safer from the last episode uh we had a safer, I don't remember what it was. Did you hear it? The word about the book that the guy um the guy ran into the woods and he he said a word prey. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Prey, hunting prey.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_06Remember the book I told you about?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh my god, this is crazy. Interesting. So tiny bookshop. Yeah, it would have a lot of you know smut books in there. Yeah, yeah, and it makes sense.
SPEAKER_06In my bookshop.
SPEAKER_03But is there that those kind of books in the tiny smut stuff?
SPEAKER_06No, because it is like a oh PG friendly.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Okay. Okay. So this one's out. Yeah. Cancel.
SPEAKER_00I I would like, just from my own personal uh knowledge, I would like to know more about the untitled Goose game because I saw that that uh with my my son at some point, and we're like, this looks fun. Yeah. What is it? You get to be an asshole as a goose.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, basically you like you cause chaos as a goose. Like you steal stuff. It's so like when I tell you like I cried laughing playing this game the whole time, it's like not even funny. But like you literally are a goose and you cause chaos every day. Is it like uh goat simulator? I've never played goat simulator, so I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Just basically a goat running around.
SPEAKER_02No, I think it's more um it's more at PlayStation of the month. Top down view. Uh yeah, and then you're like you can static levels.
SPEAKER_06You can like quack at people.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06So people are like annoying, quack, and they're like freak out of the thing. That is so funny. Hey, can I hear quack? So funny, and then like you steal stuff so people like to kind of chase you too, and it's like it's it's very good.
SPEAKER_03So um, and what's the the goal of the game?
SPEAKER_06I don't remember the goal. Like, it's just it's so funny.
SPEAKER_03I think you have like little missions.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you have little missions, but like you just check stuff off, but like I never really paid attention to the goal because of how funny.
SPEAKER_00Did it get you in a chokehold?
SPEAKER_06Did it always? You have to play the game to understand this goose.
SPEAKER_01Look at her, she's like fucking laughing. She's giddy about the goose. Yeah, she really likes the goose. The giddy goose.
unknownSo funny.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Oh man, now I want to play the giddy goose game. So it looks goose. It looks so much fun. Okay, we go.
SPEAKER_00And she's finally crying on this podcast. You're so played, dude.
SPEAKER_04Your eyes are water.
SPEAKER_06Okay, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Alright, so untitled Goose Game. Yeah, that looks actually fun. Uh it comes on special once in a while, too. Every once in a while, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Cozy Growth. Yep.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what the hell is that?
SPEAKER_06Cozy Grove.
SPEAKER_00Grove. Grove. Oh, okay. Why did she say Ghost?
SPEAKER_06Growth, Growth. I'm Grove and Cozy Grove. R G-R-O-V-E.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_02Cozy Grove. Is it like an animal crossing type game?
SPEAKER_06I've never played Animal Crossing, so I'm not sure. Okay. Um, this is kind of like a a hide and hide and seek. Doesn't sound like it has a hide and kind of seek kind of game. So like you're a little like Girl Scout and you put put on an island and you have to like um your dream.
SPEAKER_01I I dreamt to be a Girl Scout. I knew it. I know.
SPEAKER_06And you get put on an island of like bears, and they each have like missions for you to go find stuff, and then you can like dig stuff up and like solve puzzles.
SPEAKER_01The bear on grinder.
SPEAKER_02Um finding friends for your friends.
SPEAKER_06You have different missions. My girlfriend wouldn't like that.
SPEAKER_02I'm grinder, but I don't care. I'm a bear, I don't care. I'm the own person.
SPEAKER_06So you have the bears to have different missions for you, and you have to like complete each mission. The more you complete, the more the the uh island opens. Yeah. And each mission. And they're like kind of like ghost bears or themselves. Yeah, yeah, like spirits animals or whatever. Exactly. So it's it's more I know, has him in a chokehold.
SPEAKER_02Bears, yeah. I knew it. So it has more of a it scratches that itch of like the more you do, the more you get rewarded, sort of thing. And the more the island opens up, the more you have to do, the more.
SPEAKER_06Yes, but like you can only do so much in a day.
SPEAKER_02Oh, interesting.
SPEAKER_06After that, there like after you do all your missions, like there's no more to do, so you have to come back the next day.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so that's an aspect that gets you in a chokehold.
SPEAKER_04Or it does. Or it does.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because because it kept you play a little bit every day, so you don't it doesn't get redundant too quickly. You're not playing too much and then it kills it. You have to go the next day just to to get a little more, and the next day to get a little more, so you're kind of like so it's not like a 24 hour you have to put the game down.
SPEAKER_02It's like you sleep in the game.
SPEAKER_06Well, if I like mobile games, yeah. Those are most mobile games, right?
SPEAKER_00Like heyday or yeah.
SPEAKER_06So you kind of have to like put it down and then you have to like come back the next day if you remember.
SPEAKER_00Ah, okay. If you remember. You're kind of underwhelmingly selling this, so I think um Okay, uh totally spies. Talk to me about that.
SPEAKER_06So it's like the the show totally spies.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I know. Oh yeah, it's like a teenager thing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you played to like whatever. You play up to like four people and you can play with friends. Play with your daughters. But uh no, I played my one of my like friends Sam. Okay and uh Sophie. So we played at her house, and because you have to play at the same house, if that makes sense, like the same TV.
SPEAKER_00Okay, and you just like co-op but an actual same network, yeah. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_06Because we tried to do it online and it didn't work. Um so we all had to like get at the same spot and then play the game together. So we just sat there for like hours just. But what's it about you complete missions as well? Um you're a spy, I can't tell you.
SPEAKER_00Jesus. I'm gonna go right away and say that's not the game because how can you be into chokehold if to play you have to go to some place and you're a cocooning person at your house, is what I learned about you. So you won't just be like going every day to somebody else's place unless they do a podcast. Like you know what I mean? So so I don't think I don't think that's your choke uh chokehold uh game. I do say so.
SPEAKER_02What's what do you do? You just have your own store?
SPEAKER_06Well, you have to create your own store. You like kind of like a little buggy kind of thing, and you just like create your own store and sell books. Yeah, you could sell books and like get books and whatnot. So it's like a whole lot of things.
SPEAKER_00Tell me one book you sold.
SPEAKER_06I'm not telling you anything.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I got my pick. Well, wouldn't you tell me a book you sold? Would that be a tell? It would really tell me telling me the name of a book you sold would be a tell.
SPEAKER_06Yes, because you I know too much.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, that's clearly one of the options to consider, guys. She's avoiding this question on this.
SPEAKER_02Well, I got my answer.
SPEAKER_00Gee's answer is tiny bookshop. I can see it. Yeah. Um, but I'm I want to say tiny bookshop two because there's only one. Totally spies, no way, because I already said so. Untitled Goose Game, I'm sure, is really fun.
SPEAKER_01You already said so.
SPEAKER_06No one if I if it is that one, it's no.
SPEAKER_00No. I'm not I'm not taking it. Uh Untitled Goose Game. Um, these games that are really, really fun, they're that's just what they are. They're really, really fun, and then you move on. Well, because you haven't played it. It's not you can't be yeah, you're trying too hard. No, you haven't played it. Okay, well, you know what? I'll give you five dollars if the answer is Untitled Goose Goose Game. Um, Cozy Grove, I still have dollars on you. No, who carries actual money now? I'll send you a new transfer. Uh Cozy Grove. I don't I don't I didn't feel it. I I think the fact that you did not want to say one of the books you sold, I don't know why, but I want to find out more. I'm gonna go with Tiny Bookshop just to at the same place, at the same time, uh, give a shout out to my friend who uh likes that game as well. Okay. A tiny bookshop for me too.
SPEAKER_06You too? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's I think it's a type of game like a farming simulator where you like you look at your watch and you're like, oh yeah, it's 2 a.m. I have to go to bed because I work at 6 a.m. tomorrow.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, that's fair.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what you can do with that game?
SPEAKER_06That's fair.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Oh I mean, that means that's not the answer.
unknownShit.
SPEAKER_00Like, no, I think that means it's not fair. She wants us to change the answer.
SPEAKER_03No, I I think she was trying to throw us off by saying that with Tiny Bookshop. Um Cozy Grove, it's like you already picked your answer.
SPEAKER_06You can't look at me anymore. It's like she didn't sell it.
SPEAKER_03I'll do the hell I want. It's my house. I I think she didn't sell that tiny uh could Cozy Grove enough that it's pr it probably isn't that game. Um totally spies cyber mission. You could you could maybe get some frustrations in there, but if you're playing with people on a couch, then it's just different, and you just hey uh let's play something else and then you move on because you don't get frustrated as a group. Um Untitled Goose Games as fun as it can be, maybe there's some there there's something about what the hell do I do now? Like how do I move on in this game? And there's some actual frustration, so um it's either between untitled goose games, but yeah. Um I'm going with untitled Goose Games.
SPEAKER_06You guys are all wrong.
SPEAKER_03Cozy Grove.
SPEAKER_06Cozy Grove! That is my second choice. But Untitled Goose Game I did play and absolutely love, but that was on PlayStation.
SPEAKER_00What's your order?
SPEAKER_06Um well on because I didn't play Untitled Goose Game. Number one is I didn't play it on Switch.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06So I played Untitled Goose Game on PlayStation, absolutely loved it, and like I said, I laughed, cried the whole freaking time. That was because it was on PlayStation. So for um uh Switch, it's definitely Cozy Grove and then Tolby Spice, because I have not played the bookshop yet.
SPEAKER_03Oh that's why she didn't want to say it!
SPEAKER_01Nice good job, good job, good job.
SPEAKER_06That was a good one.
SPEAKER_01All right, all right, I got one.
SPEAKER_06Sean is so disappointed. I got one. I am so disappointed.
SPEAKER_00I got one point out of it. Uh so yeah, so at this point, uh what how many did you get? I got an honorable mention. How many did I got nothing? Well, you got one, you got the game. No, Spyro didn't count because I knew. Yeah, yeah, I'm being honest. Um, okay. Well, I want I want a chance for redemption, so uh let's go. You had a bonus question. Let's go with the bonus question. Go with the bonus question.
SPEAKER_06Okay, what's my favorite team slash squad game? Dead Island 2, Outbreak, COD Zombies, the number six, COD Zombies World at War, that was in 08, or Dying Light the Beast.
SPEAKER_03Okay, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_06So Dead Island 2 Dead Island 2 Outbreak Call of Zombies number 6.
SPEAKER_02Outbreak is that just one game, Outbreak COD Zombies X.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, the sixth one. Because there's also COD Zombies World at War that was out in 08. So that's Call of Duty The Zombie Mode.
SPEAKER_02Is it Call of Duty game?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, zombie mode, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dying Light The Beast.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_00That's the beast. Okay, so Dead Island, Outbreak, uh Zombies World at War.
SPEAKER_06Okay and Dying Light the Beast.
SPEAKER_03I I did play uh the WOW Call of Duty. Honestly, that well not WOW, but uh World at War. Wow.
unknownWow!
SPEAKER_03That was one of the greatest games. Like for the zombie mode, for the co-op that you could play. Uh I absolutely love it.
SPEAKER_06Can I just FYI? This might be a trick question.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_02What is Outbreak? What'd you say?
SPEAKER_06This might be a trick question. Okay. So it's an open one.
SPEAKER_02You can't say that. Yeah, but what is zombies?
SPEAKER_06Like Call of Duty zombies. So instead of like fighting people, you fight zombies. Yeah, yeah. So there's zombies. Call of Duty took out two different zombie games. Well, more than two now, but those are the two.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so there's Dead Island.
SPEAKER_03No, your choices. Dead Island 2. Oh, you want to do it? Call of Duty Zombies Outbreak, Call of Duty Zombies World at War. Oh, and Dying Light.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_06People just don't listen.
SPEAKER_00No, no. I want G on this one. Okay. Okay. Uh good job for your better at this than us. But uh yeah, I thought that was also very confusing. Okay. Could you repeat them again? There's two CODs.
SPEAKER_06There's two CODs, yes. There's two COD device. Thank you for understanding.
SPEAKER_02A zombie theme going on in there. Definitely. What was the what was your question?
SPEAKER_06Which is my favorite team slash like squad game.
SPEAKER_00So Dead Island 2 is a team slash squad game?
SPEAKER_06Mm-hmm. You can play with more than two people.
SPEAKER_00No way. Yep. Hey, we got that game through PlayStation Share. Yeah, we do. Yeah. So we could we could squad up and kill some zombies.
SPEAKER_06Yes. If I would have known, we would have been playing them a long time ago.
SPEAKER_00No, no, but I actually uh We're actually gonna do an episode on that. Yeah. Uh we want to do an episode on that, but planet planet for uh October for Halloween.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00So uh we might play maybe uh as zombies?
SPEAKER_06We could that's how we talk the whole time.
SPEAKER_00So you know how uh how uh our buddy Shane uh cosplayed at uh the Red Dead Redemption 2 episode? Yeah, yeah, you remember Arthur Morgan? Uh yesterday he was telling me that for the Ocarina of Time episode, he wants to cosplay somebody. Maybe somebody from the village, like he wants to do something.
SPEAKER_02I hope he dresses up as Link and has like this very short skirt going on as a skirt. Yeah, look at him when he's young versus when he's but yes, Link in Ocarina of Time is wearing a tunic, which is like a shirt slash okay like skirt.
SPEAKER_00I can picture it. Yeah, but anyway, so so so the cosplay thing like within the podcast, I think it's pretty cool. Like if you would have gotten dressed as Beatrix that time we did Hogwarts Pegasus, but whatever.
SPEAKER_06We'll do it next time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, I have no clue. I have no clue. I'm gonna say Left 4 Dead, uh not Left for Dead 2. Um Dead Island 2. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um okay, so um I I don't think it's Dead Island 2, um, because I think it's just a very good solo game by itself. Um, a team squad game. There's two Call of Duties in there, so maybe you're just trying to throw us off with by having two choices. Um can you go down into details of what the team squad aspect of Dying Light is?
SPEAKER_06Just like playing with another partner. So I played with my husband, uh, one of my friends Nip and one of our friends from Texas. Oh, Nip? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Ah, I love that guy.
SPEAKER_06I have no idea who he is, but you did do a shout out for five minutes at one of the podcasts. No, that was Levy.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that was Levy? Yeah. Did he play that?
SPEAKER_06He we played all together, all four of us, yes.
SPEAKER_00Was it Nip, your husband and Levy? Yep. Which one?
SPEAKER_06Uh the the beast, dying light.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. I'm gonna go with Dying Light then. So is it Sylvain? Sylvain Nippenberg?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So I uh funny story. You know this guy? No, no, no, so so I I don't know him, but I've game with him in the past. Oh, have you? On COD.
SPEAKER_06Oh shit, they probably played with my husband because they're always playing together.
SPEAKER_03Really? Crazy. Like back in the days when I was still living on my parents. Oh, I saw my yeah, and I was friends with uh it's a Mike Charbonneau.
SPEAKER_06Um no, I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_03No. So we we had like he brought over some people and Nippenberg was one of them.
SPEAKER_02He knows everyone. World is small, crazy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so um definitely play that with uh them four.
SPEAKER_00Um you're gonna need to tell them that they've been mentioned, these people on the on the podcast. Yeah, they're basically celebrities now.
SPEAKER_06Levi knows he's watched it and he sent it to his uh his wife. Um, where's she from? The Philippines.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, coming back to the question. So what's the team squad aspect of Dying Light?
SPEAKER_06Like how do you uh you just play as like a team, like you kill the zombies and you get your missions done.
SPEAKER_03Is it like waves? Just like uh in the Call of Duty?
SPEAKER_06You can just be running like anywhere, and then the zombies are literally scattered everywhere. Like everywhere. And then when they do notice you, yeah, they'll like squ swarm towards you.
SPEAKER_03And you have missions?
SPEAKER_06Yep, you have missions, and then you have um like safe spaces, which are like blue lights where you can like stay there, which I usually do because I'm scared of the dark because other kinds of zombies come out.
SPEAKER_02You're so funny. You play all these zombie games and scary games, and they're like, I don't want to play!
unknownHere you go.
SPEAKER_02That's what happens.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Here you go, husband. That's what happened.
SPEAKER_02Do you call him husband? I don't know. I don't know his name.
SPEAKER_06So husband. Hi babe. Um but yeah, so I um I like to stay in the blue light because I'm too scared.
SPEAKER_00Because like not the dying light.
SPEAKER_06The extra big zombies come out, yes. The beast.
SPEAKER_03Uh you're saying like the blue light, not the dying light.
SPEAKER_06Oh.
SPEAKER_03So uh Dead Island 2.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_03What's the team squad aspect of it? Do you do missions or is it like the same as a big thing?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, kind of the same thing, except like uh you don't have like the you have a safe space, but it's like a house instead of like just the blue light or whatever. Um the blue light you have to open them up as you go, and then you have multiple like safe spots. Okay. Um that one you just open up, I guess, like houses or whatever it's called, and then you just those are your safe spaces, but there's not many. So there's like one, there's different towns you go to, and there's like gates you have to go through. And when you go through like a different place where I don't know how to explain it. Um like movies when they have like those round gates where you have to go through portals. Yeah, portals. You go into there and then you're in a new city, so that you have a different safe space in that city. Okay. So it's like you don't have multiple safe spaces like you do in Dying Light, where there's like multiple blue lights where you can go to, but like you need to hurry there at night because the zombies are like uh ten times more scarier. Okay. But like in Call of Duty, it swarms and swarms and swarms.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because it's all waves and you're all in the same spot.
SPEAKER_06And there's some still everywhere, but it's like more swarmy. Yeah, that's what I don't know. That's a word. And then like swarmy.
SPEAKER_03There is kind of a mission with the with the Call of Duty's, and you can like beat it technically.
SPEAKER_06Um helicopter comes, get two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I I was never a fan of the Call of Duty zombie games. Like you have two on them, but I know a lot of people were mental over that. So like that nib feller.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, he probably was. Oh he was yeah.
SPEAKER_00So uh which one did you play the most?
SPEAKER_06Um probably the Call of Duty's Yeah?
SPEAKER_00Yep. Is it one that you you did the the co op thing most with with your own? I've played every single one of them with people. Oh really? Yep. Okay. Um I don't I don't think I want to go with Dead Island two because to me, having played Dead Island one, I think it's more of a Maybe it has a function of that, but I don't think it's made for that. Versus the Call of Duties are made for that. Dying Light, I f I don't know anything about that game. Is it more one or the other? Can can you play single player Dying Light? Okay, can you play single player the Call of Duty ones? Is it like all the other Call of Duties where people like campaign? No, and they just play online.
SPEAKER_03World at War had a solid campaign. Yeah. That's World Yeah, and the outbreak.
SPEAKER_06I think just Call of Duty is just getting a little bit worse and worse. Of course it is. I just want to say it out loud in case there's people out there.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I got my pick. I think it's the consensus. I got my pick. Okay. I'll say last. Shotgun last. I already said mine, so. Really? What is it? Dead Island 2. Okay. I I honestly it's a toss-up for me.
SPEAKER_03So you're saying there's a chance. So you're saying there's a chance. Nice. We got a chance to try cheese. Um Best Team Squad.
SPEAKER_06My favorite. I think he's thinking hard.
SPEAKER_02Look at that frickin' pen go.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, oh, oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He got it. He got it.
SPEAKER_00Um I felt dying light too, but I'm gonna go with Outbreak.
SPEAKER_06Okay. You guys are alright, because I don't have a favorite. I love every single one of them. Damn it! Which one's your favorite?
SPEAKER_00No, no, you gotta choose.
SPEAKER_06I made this question thinking I can choose, and I cannot.
SPEAKER_00You need to choose. I can't. You gotta choose? I don't. You're fired. So you're alright. Really?
SPEAKER_06You can't choose one. I absolutely love every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00Except G, right? Except for G's pick, right?
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah, sorry, except for G's pick.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, G. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That was a stupid pick. No, but seriously, there's not one you liked a little bit better than the other.
SPEAKER_06I absolutely loved every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00It's really tough to I I don't think that you okay. I'm not doubting what you're thinking.
SPEAKER_06You are doubting. No, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_00I do think I do believe that you really think that.
SPEAKER_06I do.
SPEAKER_00But I'm just thinking, as of myself, like, there's always something that can make you like something just even a hair better than one than another.
SPEAKER_06Depending on the mood I am, each single one of them, like blew my mind. No, but I love her in a chokehold. Pad me in the tail color. No, every single colour.
SPEAKER_01Wasn't that another question? The chokehold question?
SPEAKER_06I honestly just preferring to the other one. Every single one of them I absolutely loved. Okay. And maybe it was just because of the people I was playing with, or you know, like just I just loved every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00But seriously, which one is the I don't have one.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna bug me.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna have trouble sleeping. Yes, Sean. People are different from you sometimes. Which one have you played the most of? Um that's the beauty of living in this world.
SPEAKER_06Because was it during COVID, maybe?
SPEAKER_03I don't remember.
SPEAKER_06I don't remember. But yeah. Every single one of them I absolutely love. And I think when I that's why I put an extra question because I was like, oh yeah, that's fair. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But it's fun, it's fun to have games that you actually like that you could go back and love them as much as other games. I love going back to games.
SPEAKER_06I know it's crazy, but sorry.
SPEAKER_00Calm down, Jesus. No, um, don't call me Jesus. I'm not religion. I'm not religion.
SPEAKER_06I am religious.
SPEAKER_00Calm down. I'm not a religion. All right. Hey, thank you very much, Olive. This concludes your player profile. Now we get to know more. We we got to know more about you. Yeah. I'm still stumped on the last one, though. I think there should be a lot of people. We didn't get to know anything.
SPEAKER_01It's like I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_06It's gonna haunt you tonight. Yeah, but that's why I I had an extra question because I knew that one was gonna be like, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's a fun bonus question. We all win, it's fun.
SPEAKER_06Everybody wins.
SPEAKER_02We all get a participation trophy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Goal achieved. Goal achieved.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_01All right. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. All right. Thank you, Olive. Thanks for having me. Thank you guys for showing up. Congratulations. You got your player profile.
SPEAKER_06Sorry, my other one's still drinking.
SPEAKER_01It's okay.
SPEAKER_00But seriously, now that it's all over. Nobody hey, you're just between friends here. Yeah, yeah. Safe space. Safe space. Safe space. No, nothing's recording. This will not go on the air. It's still recording. Levy will not see this.
SPEAKER_06None. I don't have a favorite one.
SPEAKER_00What what do you think the answer is? Oh, yeah, we already said that.
SPEAKER_02You know what the answer is, Sean? Wash frozen and you let it go. Oh, nice. I like it.
