EP1: The culture of productivity (Voices of France)
In this podcast, three students from INSA Rouen Normandie, a public engineering school in Normandy, share their thoughts on the culture of productivity. They emphasize the lack of personal time in their daily lives and the importance of truly dedicating moments to themselves. While socializing with friends or engaging in activities is valuable, it doesn’t always provide the personal space needed to reflect or unwind, as these moments are often planned and scheduled.
To manage their workload and well-being, they suggest establishing a daily routine with set boundaries, such as a curfew for studying, to limit homework time and create space for self-care. They highlight that stress is an inherent part of adulthood, stemming from responsibilities, academic pressure, social expectations, and financial concerns. Their key advice is to strive for balance—acknowledging life's complexities while focusing on what needs to be done without becoming consumed by constant to-do lists.
