Educate Everyone

Talking with Jason Tavarez, Director of Institutional Resilience at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA - Part 2

Joseph Atman Season 1 Episode 15

In this episode of Educate Everyone, it's Part 2 of our conversation with Jason Tavarez. He's the Director of Institutional Resilience at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, where he oversees risk management and emergency preparedness. He also serves as Secretary of the Board for Middle Tree, supporting educational equity and access through community-focused programs. Jason and Joe Atman go back a long way - all the way back to college - and in this episode, they compare the college towns of Santa Barbara, CA - where Jason is now - and Claremont, CA where they both went to college.  The conversation centers around what makes a college town so special and so challenging to live in at the same time. The two also look at how Middle Tree has grown from basically a tutoring program for students to an enrichment program that is a valuable asset to many school districts in California.
