Educate Everyone

Talking with Frank Torres, Middle Tree Director of Strategic Initiatives - Part 2

Dr. Joseph Atman Season 1 Episode 25

On this Episode of Education Everyone, our guest is Frank Torres. He's Middle Tree's Director of Strategic Initiatives.  In his role at Middle Tree, Frank designs and scales district partnerships and programs—Canopy (after-school care & staffing), Heartwood (high-dosage/JiTT-inspired tutoring), and STEM & LEAF enrichment, while leading strategy, proposals, and compliance aligned to CA Expanded Learning Quality Standards company-wide. His work embeds PBIS, SEL, trauma-informed practices, UDL, and CCSS/NGSS frameworks and standards into Middle Tree best practices and procedures.

In this conversation with Dr. Joseph Atman, Frank talks about the advantages that a Community College can have for students as a starting point in their higher education journey and that the conceptions about 2-year schools is justifiably changing.  He and Dr. Atman also discuss how reading to a child, no matter how young they are, can have lasting effects on their educational success.
