Talking with Bernie Hernandez - Inside/Out Program Coordinator - Part 2
On this episode of Educate Everyone, our guest is Bernie Hernandez. He currently serves as the “Inside/Out” Program Coordinator for the Justice Education Center at the Claremont Colleges. Bernie graduated from Pitzer College in 2023, while incarcerated, as part of the B.A. cohort program at Norco prison. Bernie was selected as the commencement speaker for the 2024 Chicano Latino Student Affairs graduation at the Claremont Colleges. Bernie and Dr. Atman talk about the transformation the program has made in Bernie's life and how he continues to work with Inside/Out to offer the same chance at restorative justice to other incarcerated individuals.
