Rudy and Rennie North were kidnapped from their home in September of 2013 and made wards of the state under April Parks in Las Vegas, Nevada where they were held captive for almost 2 years. Parks along with her cohorts showed up at their home with no warning and no justification and took them to an assisted living site Lakeview Terrace. Their liquid assets were moved to Parks’ bank account to plunder as she saw fit and charged enormous fees for everything, even phone calls from their daughter Julie asking for their release! Items that were of no monetary value were thrown by the curb to be trashed.
Julie never gave up in spite of opposition and police involvement and she contacted a reporter at the Vegas Voice and received traction and public involvement. In May 2015 after the article appeared, the judge who had turned the North’s over to Parks in September 2013 changed his stance and fired Parks from being their guardian. Rudy and Rennie were able to leave and moved in with Julie and her family.
April Parks and her cohorts kidnapped hundreds of people during their years of terror in Las Vegas but fortunately her greed and theft has put her in jail for 16-40 years while the judge and attorneys remain free and unscathed!
