GUEST: Rod Bradshaw is a 5th generation farmer who grew up on a farm north of Jetmore, KS. He first got involved in agriculture raising his own hogs and cattle at 13 years of age. He was also an active 4-H and FFA member, serving as vice president and president of the Jetmore FFA chapter. He began his own farming operation in 1974, purchasing 80 acres and renting 160 acres of farmland. He was also heavily involved in operations for his father-in-laws' company, Northend Disposal. While in production agriculture he raised wheat, grain sorghum and a cow calf operation. In 1982, 1985, and 1987 he was awarded the Farm Bureau Century Farm Award. After that he continued to expand his operation and in 1994 he took over the entire operation of his parents farm and ranch. In 2001 he was appointed to the USDA grain inspection council.
