That Can’t Happen to Me! – Coz, Marsha, Terri LaPoint and Kathy Hall May Change
Your Mind About That Feeling
Brought to you by Marti Oakley Legacy Podcast
Kathy was taking care of her granddaughter when there was a knock at the door from
Child Protective Services (CPS) person who said that since Hailey, who was Kathy’s
daughter had taken a trip for 3 days to see relatives had abandoned her daughter,
Brooklyn, they were there to take her. Kathy was horrified, but the end results was that
baby Brooklyn was indeed taken and thrown into a system where she would never
escape. Over 10 years later, Brooklyn has no idea what transpired when she was a
baby or who her relatives are.
Terri LaPoint wrote “Voices That Will Not Be Silenced” capturing the story of the
kidnapping in addition to Hailey loosing her life to an illegal immigrant hit and run.
Devastation continued as Kathy joined Angel Moms with people who had also lost loved
ones to illegal people in the country. She joined forces with a senator from Arkansas to
fight the system. The fight led to an even more sinister plot involving child sexual
exploitation! The book is riveting to say the least. There is more!
People often are living in their world unaware of dangers that seem unrealistic and
that’s exactly how Kathy felt when she heard that knock on the door that changed her
life, her daughter’s life and her granddaughter’s life. Her world was shattered by many
events including another murder. Any day we could be the next person who hears a
knock and sees something happen that changes our view and life forever. Don’t be
caught off guard!
Terri is running for congress in her state of Alabama and is very active going to
Washington D.C. to fight for these and other issues! She is passionate about saving
children and the elderly from the system that is supposed to support and protect those
very people.
Listen to Kathy and Terri unweave the tragic journey.
