But I feel like it’s the same way in life. Whether it’s a dream we’re chasing, or a goal we’ve set, we all have marks that we want to hit. Those marks guide us to where we need to be. I sat down with my friend Jacques — an actor and improviser who uses comedy as a way to connect with people. That’s always been his starting point. Now that he’s acting professionally, he says it just feels like getting paid to play. And honestly, that mindset is what’s carried him through the tougher parts of the journey.
We talked about how his time doing theater prepared him for the fast-paced world of TV, starring in a Nickelodeon show - Side Hustle. He shared what he learned from that experience and how his training gave him the foundation to thrive in that environment.
Now, with improv, he’s tapping into a different side of his creativity — one that’s helping him find his voice and become an even better actor. He’s learning how to stay present, respond in the moment, and just trust himself and his scene partners.
