00.088) you 18.126) She should feel like 32.366) you 54.134) Welcome back, shapeshifters. This is part two, unplug and rewire. The reset, you didn't even know you needed. This episode is about rewiring, resetting, and remembering who we are without all of the statics. So a digital detox is not about rejecting technology. It's not about disappearing. It's about reappearing in a way that's going to give us a conscious break so that our brains and our nervous system can reset and we can come back. with more more clarity, creativity, more reconnected. So as we prepare for this adventure together, I want you to start by just checking your patterns. This was your homework from the last episode. Notice how often you're grabbing your phone. What came up for you? Do you grab your phone the second you wake up? Do you doom scroll when you're tired? What are your scroll triggers? Knowing our triggers around scrolling, when we're tired, when we're lonely, when we're overwhelmed, maybe when we get home or... put the kids to bed or, you know, whatever it is for you, right? So part of that is just stepping into that level of awareness so that we can not just be automatic in the way that we're tapping in, but we can really start being intentional. And so one of the ways to do that is before you pick up that phone to just say, what am I actually needing right now? Take a step back. Why am I picking up my phone? And then a lot of times we can make up reasons. I need to get this recipe for this. cake that I'm never gonna or I need to find out this meme that I really want to share with my friend. How important is that? Is it a distraction or an inspiration? And that small moment, I promise you that small moment of pause is gonna give you more power and it's just going to give you a beat. And sometimes you're still gonna open that phone. but I promise you there are gonna be a lot more times when you won't. So this isn't about throwing our phones away, it's about those micro moments that we can do to create a major shift. So start small, maybe phone free mornings. The first hour and the last hour of our day are critical in terms of how our days begin and how we release our day so we can fully get the level of deep sleep and restoration required.
Sh8peShift YourLife (03:08.468) to have a new day. So just giving yourself that hour to spirit. Maybe you have app free evenings to really give your nervous system, particularly for those of us who working remotely or have a lot of Zoom meetings. We're already on screens all day and that can just continue to create more stress. Also thinking about device free zones. Get a clock. I have a watch. I need to get a actual clock in my bedroom. So your your phone's not in your bedroom. But really keeping our sacred spaces tech-free to protect our piece the same way that we protect our passwords. So as we are creating more awareness around where devices are, also let's create more awareness around those beautiful analog activities. Maybe it's re-imagining your home or redecorating your home in a way that pulls out some of the things that you love to do. Like if you love to paint, or you have wonderful art supplies, pull the art supplies out so you can see them. Maybe invest in the easel. If you love certain books, put books in the bathroom, books in the kitchen, books in the living room, sprinkle the books around. You have instruments that you like to play. Maybe you have some crafts that you want to do on the sewing machine. Set the sewing machine up. Even if you're not using it, just set it up. Just have stuff already set up and ready to go. And I know people have to be creative with the amount of space that they have. This could even be some activities in a basket in a corner. However much you have, just making sure that you're really filling your space and reclaiming your space with joy. Tap into those analog activities. A record player buying some new, the easiest one that we always know, nature. Nature, nature, nature, nature, nature, nature. Spending time in nature, walking barefoot, going outside, anything that requires us being around life. Animals are huge. If you have pets or you can even get around animals, that is just going to allow you to get that connection hormone popping off. Oxytocin, which is the connection hormone?
Sh8peShift YourLife (05:14.099) that we are wired to want to be around humans. I always, the beginning of a week, make sure that I'm booking some time to be social with people that I care about. Maybe I wanna go dancing or host a friend for tea or go take a walk, whatever it is, just planning that time to be with humans. I know for me, if I wanted to, I could just stay in my house and get everything delivered, but it's important to me to get outside and to walk and take time for community connections that oxytocin, that connection hormone, especially as women, I just learned is very important in our estrogen needs and we need that oxytocin every single day. So this isn't just about a new hobby. Hobby is not the right word here. This is how we're remembering our humanity. This is how we're not becoming robots, y'all. This because the Neuralink isn't just about waiting for the brain ship to get installed if you're going to walk around with the brain chip in your hand. So this is where we step into our humanity, knowing that our systems are ancient technology, that you are the original system upgrade. Your breath becomes your reset button. Your melanin absorbs sunlight and converts it into energy. Your heartbeat is syncing with the drum of the earth. So when we detox from that digital noise, we reconnect to our natural signal. And that's where our magic and our creativity and our intuition live. And again, look at the world. The world is crumbling. The empire is falling. And those of us who really believe another world is possible are going to need these currencies of our magic and our creativity and our intuition like never before. And we will be the architects of a new world. We will be the fluid and agile ones who from the phoenixes will rise again and our victory will be sealed. And I believe that. I know that sounds, you know, wooshy-wash-wash, but that's real for when I know that if you're listening to this, you're one of those people. So think about it as part of your liberation practice. We want to create that relationship with ourselves as we're preparing to close out this Gregorian calendar, because we know this is not the original calendar, but it is the Gregorian calendar of 2025, this nine year of death and rebirth as we prepare to step into the one of
Sh8peShift YourLife (07:38.764) new beginnings. can all agree that the world as we know it has died. Everything we know about the government, everything you know about real estate, everything you know about the music industry, everything you know about the entertainment industry, everything you know about the healthcare system, it's over. It's a new era. The world as we know it has died. And now it's time for us in the present moment to create the future that we want to see. Knowing that that future is not going to be the majority. So if you're waiting for everybody to get on the bandwagon, let me save you some time. They ain't coming, okay? This is tribal. This is, we share vision, values, points of unity. We believe in the divine feminine. This is tribe. This is mindset. This is values and traditions that are going to link people together, and form in a new culture. This is not gender politics, this is not racial politics. This is not identity politics where you can look at someone and you can say, they're black, so therefore we're on the same tribe. Not mine. Or they're white, so they're not included. Not necessarily. You know, I'm not saying they can get in easily, but they might get in. And I might have to leave somebody else. They might not make the cut because some of y'all, I'm not sure. Right. That's just what it is. So we want to make sure that as we step into this 2026, we're re-imagining our relationship with these devices so that we can harness the tools for our own liberation as we are moving into Underground Railroad 2.0. Every single one of us becomes a safe space, a sanctuary, part of the interconnected hub of the Mycelium network that is alive. And we are navigating that network together for healing, liberation, creativity, for safety and abundance because we are not buying into the spell. We're going to watch Babylon fall, but we not going to fall with it. That doesn't mean that things are not going to die with it and we're not going to have to change. And this is part of what the change looks like. And those of us who can maintain our awareness to say, okay, this is getting a little too far. Let me set a boundary. Let me look at my wellness plaque.
Sh8peShift YourLife (09:59.807) practice. Let me think about my tech hygiene. Let me make sure I don't just drink all this Kool-Aid and wake up in a Jim Jones retreat. So how do we want technology to serve us in 2026? And you heard me say serve. Let me make it personal. How do I want technology to serve me 2026? And here's the thing. I'm not, I'm not against AI. I don't agree with how the data centers the level of water usage. I don't find that it's solving any problems. It is extremely harmful to the planet. It destroys our brains. But I'm also smart enough to know that I don't think we're going to like not use it. So I'm always one to learn new technological forms and utilize them as tools and to wield them as tools and to know that my ancestors placed me at this time on the planet. This is the terrain I'm working with. And so I got to work it. And so that means that utilizing this as a tool to push my podcast, to push the healing work that I want to do. That's how I pretty much use technology. I don't really use it for anything else outside of business and uplifting people. And so thinking about what is the way that you want technology to serve you. So we're all taking action, December 25th to January 1st. We are embarking on seven days of collective rest, creativity, and remembering. We are going to do a digital detox. I have an entire PDF designed for you. You might be flipping out. It's free. It's going to give you ways to prepare. It's going to give you an opportunity to list some of the goals that you have for your time. You're going to have an accountability partner. We're going to have a cute little zoom gathering when it's all over just to share what the experience was like. I mean, we can give ourselves seven days, right? It's December 25th to January 1st. What are you really doing that time anyway? And this is the time where we really veg out on screens. You know, your whole family's got to put on matching pajamas. Save that for the family group chat. We don't need that. Like you can still communicate. But what do we really need to do on social media? Here's what my Christmas tree looks like.
Sh8peShift YourLife (12:10.781) We not supposed to be buying nothing anyway this year. Y'all know that, right? We are not supposed to be giving these oligarch billionaires one more dollar. Save your money for the holidays. And with that saving your money, you can also plug all the way out. Not only plug out your financial currency. Unplug your energetic currency for seven days so that we can step into 2026 with this real new beginning. So you can go to my website and click on the digital detox cleanse challenge, sign up for free, download the PDF. we have the 21st is going to be the winter solstice gathering. You can check my website or my Instagram for that. I am, she's a shape shifter. Remember how to spell shape shifter, S-H the number eight on Instagram. Check out all my links for that event. That event is a free virtual event as well for the Winter Solstice. And then we are going to go into the Digital Detox Challenge and we will be coming together for an integration session when it's over just to talk about what the experience was like for us. So again, it takes a village. We're community together and I'm really honored that I've been embarking on almost the last episode of 2025. 30 episodes in y'all. And sometimes I sit in my office and I'm like, what am I doing? And then I get a text or a call or a comment from you all that like, listened to your episode and I shared it with someone and I got something out of it and it keeps me going. And so your energy keeps me going. I also just added a donation link to my website. If you want to contribute a little love offering to support a black business and to support this episode. and to support this podcast because this is not free.
