
Gary Faules
Gary Faules, a former Oregonian and Californian, still holds records as an Olympic skeet shooter, race car driver, and team owner who competed in the world-famous La Carrera Panamericana, even inspiring a documentary film. He has traveled the world as an angler and is a longtime freelance writer for racing, automotive, and sport shooting publications. His monthly column for SpeedNews Magazine continues to reach thousands of readers. Gary’s previous books include I Slept in Africa, which made The Forbes Book List, and his latest bestseller Treasures We Can’t Keep and Other Short Stories. Recognized in Who’s Who and honored with numerous awards including several Congressional Recognition Awards for business leadership and philanthropy. Gary also served as Executive Director of the famed Unser Racing Museum. Now retired, Gary lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he continues living a life of adventure, writing, and keeping an eye out for the next wild journey.
