at all, like you can. welcome once again to another episode of Dragon's Gold, the magic of mindset. We spend every episode diving deep into the journeys of world-class entrepreneurs, dissecting the trials that they've overcome, revealing the mindset shifts that fueled their success. But every journey ultimately leads to the question of legacy, the message that we leave behind when the quest is complete. Today we take you inside the Hall of Heroes. We've curated the most powerful, profound, and non-negotiable truths, the core mandates that our guests have etched into their metaphorical statues. This episode is pure wisdom distilled down to the essence of persistence, courage, and impact. Every hero has to start somewhere, often at terrifying precipice, facing an uncertain leap. Before you can grind, before you can win, you have to choose to start. I'm in this process of learning how to listen to the unconscious mind and just letting things come up. And right now the thing that just came up was unapologetic. And I don't know that that's where I'm currently at, but that's where I want to be. I want to live my life unapologetically me. Everything that I am capable of creating. everything that I'm capable of giving to others, the value that I can produce, And I think unapologetic is just one of the ways to describe that. And for some reason, it's the first one that came up. So let's go with that. The audacity to simply take the leap. That's the most difficult first step that any entrepreneur will face. stepping away from their comfort zone and into the unknown. Once you jump, you must anchor yourself in the present moment, recognizing that everything you need to survive is contained in today. There's a great, it's a Persian, I think a Sanskrit, would you call it a poem? have it. It's, it's look, look to this day for it is life, the very life of life in its brief course, lie all the realities of existence, the bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the glory of power. Yesterday's only a dream tomorrow, a vision. Well, today, well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. That's what it would be, which is, you know, today. Today, it's all about today, what we can do right now. And what I love about that is in the middle part, they talk about the bliss, And every single day, you know, I wake up, if I'm breathing in and breathing out, I can take action, I can grow and I have the power to do that. We cannot control yesterday and tomorrow is a vision. True power is found only when you embrace the bliss of growth and the splendor of action in this moment. To sustain that presence, need profound internal courage, the courage to live your life on your terms, away from the pressures of the status quo and conventional wisdom. really just that when I'm dead and gone, I'm dead and gone. Right. But the living sometime needs to be empowered. And one of our famous mentor always say in all of his speech, when he's empowering people to take their life, to take their power back. You always tell them you have greatness in you. Right. Because when I'm dead and gone, the statue is there. However, we still got people that need to keep this machine running and keep this machine running effectively with good people. Right. And everyone need to know that they have greatness within them. Hutch's message is the ultimate inspiration. You already possess the innate greatness and the power to control your own destiny and growth. But simply having the potential is not enough. The journey toward achieving Dragon's Gold is often brutal and requires overcoming tremendous difficulty and adversity. What is the core mandate that separates those who break through from those who falter? What two words encompass the entire theme of tenacity and perseverance? It is the non-negotiable principle that you must internalize when the path becomes painful and the world stops believing in you. This is such a loaded question and I love it. as much as I love to talk and podcast just like you, like I could easily give you a one hour thing of what this is what my statue should say, but I'm gonna go with this. Don't quit. Don't quit. It's a two word manifesto. It's incredibly powerful because it reminds us that every person that's trying to be great in anything will face doors slammed in their face in moments of debilitating pain. That perseverance is supported by simple universal wisdom passed down through generations. Ooh, that's a really good question. You know, I don't know, when I think of statues, I always think of the poem of Ozymandias, King of Kings, where there's just this inscription left and he's talking about how great he is and everything he's built, but it's just a bunch of ruins, you know? And it's just showing nothing lasts forever. if I was gonna have a statue of me... I would want to put on there the best lesson my dad ever taught me is quitters never win and winners never quit. And it took me a minute to really understand that, you know, because if you quit, obviously you're not going to win. But like, if you don't ever quit, eventually you will find success. You might have some failures and things that set you back. But as long as you don't quit, you don't lose. That foundational wisdom ensures success is inevitable, provided that you never throw in the towel. But this commitment requires more than a goal. It requires a visceral primal energy that acknowledges the setbacks, the inevitable punch in the face, but refuses to shut down even when exhausted. Yeah, no off switch. And what that means is everything we're talking about, man, one foot in front of the other, no matter what. Doesn't have to be fast, doesn't have to be glamorous, but you'll never reach the finish line if you don't keep moving towards it. That belief, that sheer force of will that it takes to embody the no off switch mindset, that's what gets us across the finish line. No matter the pain or the state of the journey, as Jason reminds us, you can't stop moving forward. You can't stop moving towards the finish line. But relentless action alone is not enough. That fire, that engine of tenacity that must be directed by purpose and authenticity. The true measure of a hero after surviving the grind is having the mindset required to define victory, not by external accolades, but by the unwavering adherence to their own truth. It takes tremendous courage to stand outside the status quo and push forward on your own terms. It means choosing to walk upstream. I had the courage. to live my life. on my terms. I had the courage to walk upstream. Because what I'm doing is not conventional. I was supposed to be on Wall Street. was supposed to be this. I was supposed to be so many other things. And I was like, I'm not doing that. Like, I'm doing this. And when that time, 1988, in Maraffa, Kenya, again, I had so much pain. in my body because of the rage that I I told myself, I don't want to live like this. I don't want to have this amount of pain and discontent in my life. I want to have what these people have. This is Joua DeVive. I want to have that. Okay. What do I need to do? And so I told I'm going to do what brings me joy and happiness and fulfillment in my life. And I don't give a F what anybody else thinks. That's what my life and I want people to own that for themselves. That immense courage, that power of self-determination, that allows you to define success internally, even if means walking upstream against convention. But once you find the courage to define your life on your own terms, the question turns outward. What is the ultimate purpose of your quest? When we talk about passing the torch, the true measure of the gold that we amassed is not what we accumulate, but the ripples that we create and the relational legacy that we leave behind. It's the deep and meaningful impact that strengthens every person who crosses our path. I think there was a time in my life, and maybe it's still there a little bit, of just like, want to have this impact on a lot of people. I want to, you when you go down this capital raising route, marketing route, you want to be an influencer, you want to build followers, you want to make impressions, you want to do all these kind of bigger things. And I don't think any of those things are wrong. I mean, there's a lot of good that can happen from making large impact on a of people. But I think really what, if I could boil down what I would hope. my impact would be, it would be with my neighbors. It would be at my church. It would be in a smaller circle, but a deeper way. I want to have a very solid base of people that resonate with who I am, my values, and I want to help them to the nth degree with their families and their values and their things. So I think that's probably the biggest, you know, way I would answer that question is I want to have a very deep impact in a select amount of people. profound relational impact is the purpose of the hero's journey. But the path to that goal, that high level of achievement and service, that requires a final comprehensive and honest mandate about the cost of that success, if you take anything away from the Hall of Heroes, Let it be this final truth. Ever since I was a kid, I have felt called to something. And I'll admit, I still don't know what that is. And I don't think that I'm anything amazing or great. I'm just me. But I have been blessed with great experiences because I don't give up. And because I just keep trying. But I still believe that God has given me certain capabilities or energy or vision or however you want to think about it. Combination of any of the above, honestly. a kid asked me a little while back, he's like, how do you just, how do you keep doing this? Like, how do you keep going? I'm like, I don't know how to tell you if you don't have it, you don't got it. If you don't want it bad enough, if you're not willing to go hunt it, chase it, fight for it, claw, tooth and nail until you can't breathe, then I don't know what to tell you. I've had that feeling, that vision, that fight. So if I were to say, what's the plaque? The plaque could be something like, don't give up. It is worth it. You are worth it. You can do this. But it will not be easy. Heroes aren't made on accident. Heroes aren't made on accident. They're forged in moments of pain, built on faith and intentional effort, and defined by a resolute refusal to quit. That comprehensive mindset, my friends, that is the magic of mindset.
