You know those moments when your chest is tight, your thoughts won't stop spinning and everyone keeps telling you just take a deep breath, but it doesn't help. You've already tried the breathing, you've tried the journaling, going for walks, distracting yourself, and still anxiety comes back louder than ever. And, if you're being honest, you're tired. Tired of the strategies that feel like quick fixes, tired of not knowing what actually works for you and tired of feeling like you're stuck in a loop with no exit. This episode isn't about throwing you one more random coping skill. It's about giving you real tools that actually work in the moment, strategies that help you feel more random coping skill. It's about giving you real tools that actually work in the moment, strategies that help you feel more in control even when anxiety is trying to take over. If you've been looking for a lifeline, this is it. Hi and welcome back to Block Out the Noise. The go-to podcast for teens and young adults ready to quiet anxiety, self-doubt and overthinking. I'm your host. Jessica Davis, a licensed therapist, mindset coach and creator of the Courage Method, a framework designed to help you take control over your thoughts, trust yourself and build confidence in the face of fear. Before we dive in, this podcast is here to support and guide you, but it is not a replacement for talking to someone in real life. If you're struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a therapist, and if you're in a crisis, contact emergency services or a local helpline. You don't have to go through it alone. All right, let's cut through the noise and get started. The Anxiety Survival Toolkit was created because I wanted to do something real, something you could reach for when counseling wasn't available and when your thoughts were spiraling, something that felt like support, even when I couldn't be there with you. I've worked with so many teens and young adults who told me they felt overwhelmed outside of sessions. They didn't remember what we talked about or how to even implement some times of things that we discussed. So I thought what if I could give them something to carry with them? That's how this toolkit came to life. It's filled with strategies that you can actually use. How this toolkit came to life? It's filled with strategies that you can actually use, not just deep breathing and journaling, but tools that walk you through the hard stuff step-by-step. And here's what I want you to know this isn't a static resource. I'm always updating, based on your feedback, if something feels like it's missing or there's a strategy you love that's not in there, just text me. My number is in the show note link. I'll read every suggestion and add it to this toolkit so it keeps growing, not just for you, but for others. And how amazing would that be that, if you found something that works really well for you, that that could be implemented and work well for someone else too.

Here's seven reasons why you need the Anxiety Survival Toolkit. One you can use it anywhere. It's fully digital so you can save it on your phone, screenshot the parts you love and reference it whenever you need. Whether you're hiding out in the school bathroom, in your car before practice, whether you're hiding out in the school bathroom in your car before practice or wide awake at 2 am, this toolkit can be with you.

Two coping skills you haven't tried yet. Yes, there are tons of different coping skills to try, and 75 might seem overwhelming, but the idea is to give you different things that maybe you haven't tried that could really work. Of course, journaling, deep breathing and all the things that I mentioned in the beginning sometimes just aren't effective in the moment and maybe you just haven't thought about things that could actually help you calm down and redirect you so that you can problem solve. After Three emergency reset plan for panic moments. This is through a different podcast link, but this section gives you a step-by-step reset to follow when everything feels too big. It is an audio recording so you can just put in a headphone, listen and feel as if you are following a plan to help you get through a really, really difficult moment.

Four a guided meditation. This isn't just background music. This isn't a typical guided meditation. I think it's unique in what it's describing and what the actual goal is behind it, and I really hope that you know. If you haven't listened to it and you hear this, that might be something that you actually try. Guided meditation often people feel like is so difficult, but I think the cool part about this is, with guided meditation, it's literally painting the picture and then you just get to experience it and I really do believe when you use guided meditation, you do feel calmer and more at ease.

Five courage method cheat sheet. That's a time twister. Sometimes you just need a reminder of what the courage method is. Of course, I strongly believe in the courage method and I think that by having a cheat sheet it makes it easier to remember what you can do and what steps that you want to potentially implement in that moment. I would definitely screenshot that page and if you haven't yet, I strongly encourage you to listen to episode five, why courage is the missing piece to overcome anxiety. It walks you through all the steps of the courage method and I am actually also going to add it into the anxiety survival toolkit audio version so that you can hear that as well. I'm going to also add it to the RSS speed so that you can listen to it there as well, with all the other strategies and tools within the anxiety survival toolkit.

Six it's made with you in mind. I spent lots and lots of time, hours upon hours, trying to formulate something that isn't just a gimmick. That is something that would help and really support you in that moment the language, the tools, the way it's structured. It has been built from feedback from people just like you. Seven it will keep growing. This toolkit isn't finished. It never will be, because you're still growing. If something's missing, text me and I'll update it. This is a resource we're building together.

If this toolkit helps you, even once it's worth downloading, all it takes is your email and, who knows, maybe it helps you more than you ever expected. Don't wait until your next spiral For your greatest moment. Go download it, keep it on your phone, explore one section, save a page. Just try something new this week from the Anxiety Survival Toolkit and then send me a text if you have an idea. Let's build something that truly helps other teens and young adults manage and overcome their anxiety.

The link is in the show notes. You deserve to feel supported outside of therapy. You deserve to have tools that don't overwhelm you and you deserve to feel like you have real options. There's this quote that I love from Dr Clare you can learn to live with anxiety, but, more importantly, you can learn to not let it rule your life. This toolkit is one way to take the power back. If this episode gave you something to think about, share it with someone who needs support to Thank you so so much for listening. I truly appreciate it. Until next time, keep moving forward, trust yourself and never forget you have what it takes to block out the noise.
