If you’re a fan of local shops and boutiques, Downtown Dallas, Georgia, is the place to be. You’ll find everything from cute gift shops to unique stores you won’t find anywhere else. One of our personal favorites is Boho and Bark which is a locally owned pet store owned by Lexi. Her ultimate goal has always been to provide our community and our pets with the highest quality pet treats and products. And her store is so cute!

And when it comes to one of my new favorite restaurants? Oh, honey, you’re in for a treat. If you're craving some good ol’ Southern comfort food or something a little more upscale, then check out Downtown Eats.

And let’s not forget about the local services.

Need a reliable mechanic, a trustworthy contractor, or even just a good place to get your hair done? Downtown Dallas is full of businesses run by folks who truly care about their community. It’s one of those places where people still know your name, and that personal touch makes all the difference.

Take Heath Flooring Concepts - this family owned and run business is a staple in Dallas Georgia.

Doug Heath, a second generation flooring expert, founded the company in 2005.

His knowledge in the field is unmatched. Doug grew up helping his father with the family carpet business, learning every aspect of the industry. His son Doug III is carrying on the tradition of helping families. They not only do flooring, they do tile work, and countertops. I personally have used Heath Flooring in my own home and so have lots of our clients.

Y’all, I just love the Downtown Dallas historic Dallas Theatre.

Downtown Dallas is home to a fascinating piece of history with its iconic theater. Originally known as the Strand Theatre, it first opened its doors in July 1927. Tragically, the building was destroyed by fire in March 1948. Determined to rebuild, the theater’s founder, Mr. Wendell Welch, reconstructed and expanded the structure, reopening it in October 1948 with seating for over 700 guests.

In 1965, the theater was repurposed into an office building, requiring significant renovations that stripped away many of its original features. However, in 1999, the City of Dallas recognized the building’s potential to recapture its former glory. They purchased it from Dean and Judy (Welch) Hardy and embarked on an extensive restoration project, bringing new life to this historic treasure.

During 2004-2006, the current structure was designed and constructed as a performing arts facility, with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, and seats for approximately 550 people.

The Dallas Theatre proudly presents live shows and movies.
