Bais HaLevi #21 - Ahavas Yisroel
Okay, everybody, welcome back to the Lech Teich Moser podcast. We continue with the Basilevi and Ahavaz Yisrael, parik Ches, chapter 8. Asinu Geremes, terumah, yisroel Malchalikis. We were discussing how bad not having love for one another, for another Yid, what that can cause, and the most notable amongst those is that a person who does not have Ahavaz Yisrael, he could become a Baal Gaiva, ba'al Ta'iva, ba'al Kas, and he can become a Ba'al Hashon Hara, which is really the worst one. As we quoted last week, the Gemara from Saito says there are four classes that do not greet the Divine Presence, and one of them is a Kat Misabit La'Shon Hara. And we continue in the same thought, in the same thought, in the same line of reasoning as to why one should make sure to have a havas yisrael. And that is because many other sins are caused by hatred, for if you are resentful, you will continue to sin. Be a humble spirit in the presence of everyone and certainly, and more than anyone else, in front of the members of your household, for if you are resentful and fight with your household, a person's end will be Gehenna, moving on to Parak Tess. This is the intent of the Gemara. The early ones whose iniquity was revealed had the end of their exile revealed, but the later ones, meaning from the second base of Mekdesh, whose iniquity was not revealed. The end of their exile was not revealed. What's going on? What does this mean? And the explanation of this is as follows the sinner hatred is the underlying force behind all grave sins, even though they have not yet been committed. Even though the sins have not yet been committed to me, kol makam kavar him be'chaya ch'valei begilui. In any case, their potential already exists, even if they have not been revealed. So this cryptic chazal that we quoted before is talking about the avirus and therefore the exile, meaning their end was not revealed because the outcome depends on the magnitude of the sin that was subsequently sprout from it. In this way does the exile become extended. Just as a doctor will not provide a limit to the patient, the duration of his treatment, as long as his illness has not been divulged to others, rather, remains hidden within him, similarly the end of their exile was not revealed. You see with our own eyes how much this exile has been extended. So the Pesaleve is telling us that our exile, which is really the and we're waiting for the it's been a long extended and we don't know when the end is going to come. Far, much longer than the first exile.
Speaker 1:And what's this a result of? It's a result of sin, a hatred which has corrupted us more than the cardinal sins, as we have explained previously, because we have rectified the Avaris that caused the Churban by Isurishin, which was the Gimel Avaris, chamuris and the second Basavikt, which had Lashon Horus. We see Lashon Horus even more severe than those Avaris. And whatever we are now enduring is because of the product of the initial hatred of Chur B'mayeshini, which is thousands of years ago.
Speaker 1:And if you just contemplate for a moment that we're still paying, we're still in pain, and October 7th and the Crusades and the Holocaust, frightening to think and process that it's all because of Sina. How much we have to work on ourselves to really internalize this and as hard and frustrating as relationships and the different dynamics that go on may present themselves. But let's just think about all these years in the bitter gullus and all the October 7th that have transpired over these thousands of years is all a result of sinna and it's definitely hard to overcome and to overlook and to move past. It's very hard but pretty certain. As we see from this farm over here, we have the capacity and the power in each and every one of us to bring the geula and to stop the bitter galas that we're in with making those right choices, pursuing peace and making those choices for the abish there, as difficult and as challenging as they may be.
