Start with a question that matters: what does life look like when you truly live “according to Your word”? We open Psalm 119 and follow its thread through cleansing, guidance, peace, mercy, and renewal, showing how Scripture is not just information but transformation. The heartbeat of the message comes from verse 65—“You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your word”—and it becomes a lens for seeing how God directs our steps and supplies the grace we need.

We walk through the universal problem of sin and the practical answer the Bible gives for a clean path: take heed to the Word. Then we move to the promise of perfect peace—shalom, shalom—for the mind stayed on God, exploring how attention shaped by Scripture steadies us when anxiety, noise, and wandering pull us off course. This isn’t about religious performance; it’s about trust that grows by hearing and doing. Along the way we highlight how mercy is received “according to Your word,” how forgiveness and new life are secured by God’s promise, and why revival is not a one-time event but an ongoing prayer—“Revive me according to Your word”—for weary souls who feel like dust.

We also turn to the power of community. The call not to forsake gathering reminds us that spiritual resilience is a group project. We exhort, we encourage, and we help one another stay aligned with the truth when life presses hard. The result is a life marked by direction and provision: Scripture shows the way and feeds the journey. If you’re seeking clarity, peace, or a fresh start with God, this conversation offers a clear path forward—rooted in the text, centered on grace, and aimed at joy.

Praise the Lord. I call your attention to Psalms 119. 119th Psalm. It's a long psalm, but the whole psalm deals with the Word of God. The Word of God is very, very, very, very important that we live according to the Word of God. Religion without the Word of God is just a cold something, another. But it is, it can't even name it, but it's something. Thank God for the Bible. He came over and over again that what he has given me personally. I give him the praise. There was a time that he was leading me when I didn't know it. But I knew something was different. I didn't know he was leading me. But when I came to a knowledge, that is God who is with me, is God who was helping me all my life and I didn't know it. But oh, when you come to knowledge of the Word of God, you can give Him the praise. There are many verses in this particular psalm that's been ascribed to David. I want to go into the controversies, but I want to want us to understand as God speaks to us in Psalms 119. I want to take uh for a homily today uh one verse, verse number 65, and we want to just meditate upon this verse as we look into what God has done and what God is doing in our lives. Six verse sixty-five, Psalms 119. The Bible says, Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according to, according unto thy word. I want you to really understand that we don't live by just something or other. We live by God's word. David was a man who basically lived by grace, that is, by depending on the Lord to work in his life. All of us should be like David in that sense. Depend upon the Lord working in our lives through his word. Consequently, he trusted in the word of God, the word of his grace, Acts 20, verse 32. David lived according to God's word. Psalms 119 bears substantial testimony of what can happen when one lives in this manner. You have dealt well with your servant, the Lord, according to your word. This strategic strategic phrase according to your word has two implications: living in line with God's word and living by the provisions of God's word. Therefore, those who live according to God's word not only find their direction in the scriptures, they find resource there as well. Every person on earth begins their life with a sin problem. Guilty, condemned, alienated from God. If a person wants to have their life clean up spiritually, they can see that accomplish according to God's word. Listen to verse 9 of this particular Psalm 119 of verse 9. I want you to notice too, each section starts off with a Hebrew alphabet. Beth. It says here, wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? That's a question. And also, not only young men, but young women also. The Bible is not produced against uh uh God's creation. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way, wherewithal shall a young woman cleanse her way. Well, here it is. Here's how we cleanse our way by taking heed dare to according to thy word. Yes, young men and young women must live according to the word of God. It's the word of God who gives young people direction. It is the word of God who gives old people direction also. The Bible says, With my whole heart have I sought thee. Oh, let me not wander from thy commandments. You see, it's the word of God if we live according to his word as he had given us direction. He leads us. We live according to his direction. We don't have to grumble nor complain. No, we live according to his grace, and he gives us serenity, he gives us peace. The Bible also teaches you in me and Isaiah how to have peace, tranquility, and life. The Bible says that would keep him in perfect peace. In the Hebrew peace is given twice. Shalom. Shalom. Translated peace. Peace. Perfect peace is translated. You and I can only have perfect peace when I have a mind. Keep in mind, I have a mind. I have a thinking. It's steadfast, stayed on him. Praise God. Not only are we to just listen and hear the word, but do something. Do the word. Praise God. Every person, as I say, uh say it again so we can understand it. Every person begins their life with a sin problem. Guilty, condemned, alienated from God. If a person, listen carefully, repeated, if a person to is to have, if the face person wants to have lights cleansed up spiritually, they can see that accomplished according to God's word. How can a young man, a young woman, cleanse his or her way by taking heed according to God's word? Anyone who will pay close attention to the message of the scriptures will find therein God's provision of forgiveness and salvation. Listen to the Bible. Let your mercies come also to me, O Lord. Your salvation according to your word. Verse 41. God's merciful salvation from sin and into godliness is endured by those who call upon him wholeheartedly. I entreat your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word. Verse 58. Every person who has found new life through the Lord's merciful salvation, eventually encounter times when a reviving is needed. The difficulties of life seem to choke all the spiritual vitality out of us. Revive me, O Lord, according to your word. Psalms 119, verse 107. Sometimes the battle is so intense that our inner man seems to be smashed face down in the dirt, as it were. Again, it is time to seek the Lord in his word. My soul clings to the dust. Revive me according to your word. Verse twenty-five. Yes, in God's word we find direction for our lives and replenishing for our lives. We need it. That's what a Bible teaches you and me, not to fix the assembling of ourselves as a man of some. We need to assemble together in the church building. What are we there for to exhort one another, to help one another onward in the faith? Praise God. We praise him according to his word. May the Lord help us all, is our prayer. Unto him that is able to keep us from falling, to present us faultless before his presence with exceeding joy. Now and forever, let us soul say, Amen.
