What if the life you’re striving to build is actually meant to be received? We open Scripture and follow a golden thread from Habakkuk to Romans to explore a bold claim: the just shall live by faith. Not a vague spirituality, but concrete trust in what God has said, and in what Christ has done, right now.
We unpack how the gospel reveals the righteousness of God from faith to faith, why Paul isn’t ashamed of this message, and how it becomes real for anyone—Jew or Gentile—who believes. The law demanded righteousness; the gospel provides it in Jesus. That truth reframes both our standing with God and our daily walk. We move from self-reliance to humble dependence, from managing image to embracing grace, from white-knuckled effort to Spirit-led obedience. Faith is not passive. It listens to the word, believes the promise, and acts on it with a steady, quiet courage.
Along the way, we tackle the pride-versus-humility divide, show why grace flows where we depend on God, and reflect on what it means to receive a righteousness that holds when feelings don’t. We close with praise and a benediction that roots our hope in the One who keeps us from falling and presents us faultless with great joy. If you’re hungry for a faith that is both honest and anchored, this conversation will meet you right where you are and invite you deeper into the grace of Christ.
If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can discover the good news that changes everything.

SPEAKER_00We're going to talk to you today about growing in grace through the living, through living by faith. Growing in grace, through living by faith. We have a relationship with the one who created us, our Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, whom God the Father has set forth to be the propitiation of our sins, not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. To live with God, whom no man has ever seen, but we reach him by faith. Listen to the Bible. In Hebakah, we want to start. In Hebakh 2 and verse 4, remember this verse. The Bible teaches, behold the proud, behold the proud. And his soul is not upright in him. But the just shall live by faith. Also, go to the New Testament, Romans 1. And listen, the Apostle Paul is called to be an apostle to us Gentiles. He says, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, the just shall live by faith. We have these two scriptures given to us. Let us meditate upon the things that God has given us in writing. In our previous devotions on Jesus as our ultimate example, we concluded our series on humility and grace and began to consider faith and grace. If we want to grow in the grace of God, we must live by faith. Since faith accesses grace, we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand. Romans 5 and verse 2. Our present initial verse also builds upon our earlier studies on humility, which was repeatedly contrasted with pride. The Bible teaches you and me, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. We saw that in our studies in the past James 4, verse 6. Rebecca was inspired of the Spirit to state the same truth in this form. Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him. James contrasted pride with humility. Here the prophet concluded his statement by contrasting pride with faith. The proud person is depending upon himself or herself. The humble person is willing to depend upon the Lord. The humble person is the one who will be growing in the grace of God. This simple proclamation living by faith is so profound that it is repeated in three strategic epistles in the New Testament. The first mention is in Romans in connection with the gospel of grace. Paul says, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. Paul was not embarrassed by the gospel, the good news of the grace of God that was available in Jesus Christ. Praise God. He knew that it was God's power, power for truth, that would save the soul of anyone, Jew or Gentile, who would believe in Christ. That message of grace offered God's righteousness to all who would believe. For in it, the gospel, in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. It continues in faith. The same righteousness that the law demanded, the gospel of grace provided. But now the righteousness of God and apart. Let me read it again. Now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets, even the righteousness of God, which is through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all. Listen carefully, who believe. Faith must have action. Must believe what God has said in his word. Must believe what has been revealed in his word. Yes, beloved. Initially and continually, for the Bible teaches, keep in mind, the just shall live by faith. We meditate upon the truth found in this gospel. May the Lord be praised. We praise him for the gift of his righteousness. By grace through faith, our heart rejoices, and we have a righteous standing before our Heavenly Father. Our heart humbly cry out and faith for a daily impartation of that same righteousness in and through our life, for a godly walk on earth below, through the grace of Christ. Amen. Now unto him that is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before his presence with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Savior be glory and majesty, dominion, and power. Now and forever, let us all say Amen.
