Victor Spiritual Teachings Chapter seven Mind and Thoughts One of the first things to master is your mind and thoughts. This is one of the more important aspects of spiritual awakening and opening. For most people, the mind is constantly busy and on the move. Thoughts come and go and they lead to emotions and thus control people's mental and physical well being. As mentioned before, the spiritual sight of men is based on three elements the soul, the true self, the ego and the mind. Where lies the personality that makes the person who they are? The personality is composed before the soul is incarnated, and its composition is determined by the tasks that the soul intends to accomplish in the life to come. The personality is very diverse, and its combination can be in many ways. Also the age of the soul determines its composition. For example, a young soul chooses a personality that is not shy but rather assertive and determined, and often chooses greed, which become a driven force that creates a lot of energy to get hold of and gain what greed reaches. An old soul can choose a personality that leads to a lot of solitude in the life to come. Then the older soul gets the opportunity to make up its own mind and begins to look inward, and worldly goods and things are now less important. The personality acts as a kind of filter in front of the soul and the ego, and all the individual communication with others take place through the personality. It is then the nature of the thoughts that determines whether it is the ego or the soul that works with the mind. At its core spiritual awakening and opening is about liberating the soul and pushing the ego aside, thereby uniting the mind and the soul. That person is often called the soul safe and lives on the soul side of life. But what thoughts nourish the soul? The answer is first and foremost to look at things positively and be optimistic. Think positively about yourself and your neighbor. Think of life as a cooperation and not competition and be loving. Thoughts lead to words and deeds and therefore evil thoughts lead to bad words and evil deeds, while loving thoughts lead to beautiful words and good deeds. Many people are familiar with anxiety, but then there is a fearful thoughts and revolve around the future. Here are the delusions of the ego that create a lot of fear and distress in the person. Such thoughts can be amplified and anxiety can eventually become overwhelming. The individual imagines that everything will take a turn for the worse, and the anxiety intensifies. It is important to push such thoughts away when they come to mind and start thinking about something positive and beautiful, letting your mind wander about pleasant memories from the past. This pushes away the fearful thoughts of the ego and thus beats the anxiety. Therefore it is important to always be aware of one's thoughts and to divert those that are negative create fear and anxiety, and can ultimately lead to evil actions and words. From the soul come loving and positive thoughts that bring joy and true happiness to man from within. Such happiness is eternal and dependent on no one. The ego feeds fear and creates divisions among people, so the ego thoughts can be negative and evil toward others, which eventually leads to a great unhappiness, distress and suffering. As mentioned before, when the individual begins to awake the soul with loving and positive thoughts that eventually start to push the ego aside little by little, the ego will react like a person fighting for his life. Therefore a lot of internal conflict and impulse is created during this process. The ego sends an even more fear than before, as well as anxiety and as this to maintain its control over the individual's mind. Therefore it is very difficult to be firm and always aware of its thoughts, words and actions. It is good to review the thoughts of the day in the evening and consider whether they have nourished the ego or the soul. In slow steps the thoughts change and become more positive and loving, and this becomes involuntary in the end. When this has lasted for a while the person will clearly identify the thoughts and words that nourish the soul, and if evil thoughts appear, they will become very noticeable, and it will be easy to repent and do better next time. To master calming the mind and the flow of thoughts it's good to meditate and thus empty the mind. There are many ways to meditate what shoots each person is different. It's good to sit down and close the eyes, then start by relaxing the body. Let the shoulder sack back and lower back and it is important to lie down well in the chair. Let the buttocks sink down well and the soles of the feet sink to the floor. When the body is well relaxed, it is good to breathe in very slowly through the nose and let the air go far down into the abdomen. Hold the breath down for a while but without any effort or conflict. Everything should flow slowly and in a normal way. Then let the air out very slowly through the mouth. This is repeated during the meditation. The next step is to empty the mind of all thoughts and achieve complete peace of the mind and body. If this is done long enough a connection established to the soul and the inner wisdom. This exercise can be done once or twice a day, slightly increasing the time it stay. In slow steps the mind calms down and balances the body nervous system. It is an important part of spiritual awakening and opening. In the beginning it can be difficult to calm the mind and empty it of thoughts which come up in the mind all the time. At first the ego tries to counteract this with fearful thoughts that disturb the person's calm. Also many people feel itching or discomfort somewhere in the body, in which case the ego is in control, disturbing the calm and concentration. You must ignore all this and continue under it. If meditation is practiced often enough and for a long time, you will eventually find balance and calm in your mind and body. Once a person has mastered their mind and thoughts, this exercise can be done anywhere and in a different situation, such as on a walk or on the couch in the living room. When this has been practiced for quite some time and the person has learned to calm his mind and thoughts, he begins to connect with the inner wisdom of the soul and the universal wisdom. Then information comes to mind that answers the questions that the awakened person had in the beginning of the awakening. Certainly he knows lot of things he didn't know before about life and existence. And so the number of questions steadily decreases and in the end there are no questions left in his mind. At this time he has reached a perfect opening and connection with the soul and its wisdom. All questions disappear from the mind and a perfect balance is reached in the mind and nervous system as well as the body. The results of the meditation exercises. Also problems and worries will disappear and the daily things pertaining to the earthly life will become much easier and life will begin to move on. The awakened will flow with the current of life instead against it. In the beginning it is important to balance the body's nervous system as well as the mind and thoughts, and push out all negativity and evil thoughts and words from the person's life. In this way consciousness rises and the awakened person gets in more tune with the energy of God and his true self. There are several methods to meditate. One is to sit down in silence and stillness and empty the mind that way. You can also find meditation materials online led by someone who speaks in shooting tone and even with calm music in the background. Then you can have only quiet music in the background to calm down and balance the nerve system. What shoots each person varies, so it is good to experiment and find out what is the best for you. In the beginning the body nerve system and physical health can be very imbalanced, so it can take time to balance the body and the cellular system. In order to achieve a full spiritual opening, the spiritual side of the person as well as the body must be in a great balance. At all stages of spiritual awakening and opening, never force anything forward or through, nor make a decision in the mind, but allow things to move forward in a balanced and in tune with your abilities at any given time. Forcing things forward does little more than slow down and delay. One example of making decision in the mind can be deciding to completely change one diet from one day to the next. Such a rapid change can negatively affect the health of the body. Everything has to happen by itself in a slow step so that everything stays balanced and develops in its own natural way. It is important to be aware of your mind and thoughts and always direct them in a loving and positive direction, and at the same time to ward off the evil and negative. In this way the person mindset changes as well as their behavior. Thus begins the inner transformation and the spiritual opening. Everything is born in thought which results in words and action that will never be better or worse than the thoughts. Evil thoughts never lead to good deeds, and in the same way loving thoughts never lead to evil deeds. Therefore, this is a very large and important part of spiritual awakening and opening. The spiritual path or path to eternal life and freedom is very winding, and it is easy to derail and stray into the broad path of destruction and suffering.
