Speaker 1:

Welcome back to DIY Salvation. Today we'll be talking about bearing fruits, bearing much fruits. From our last episode, we talked about the fact that the more conscious you are of the person, nature and the character of God, the more you experience God's manifested presence. And I asked the question what is the benefit of you having God's manifested presence in your life? Jesus thought in John, chapter 14 and verse 15, that the more you know about God, you get to have the revelation of God, the more fruits you will bear. Okay, so we're going to be looking at John, chapter 14, possibly a few verses from chapter 15. It's quite a read, but I assure you that even if we just read this chapter or these two chapters and don't talk about anything tonight, it's enough.

Speaker 1:

I did say that these chapters are some of the most confusing in the Bible, but we'll look at them together and break them down together, and I want to also remind you that the first rule of interpreting the Bible is literally. Whatever Jesus is saying and we're reading right now, it is first literal. Understand it literally. It is first literal, then it can be many other things, and I've also said that my personal favorite method is reading the Bible literally. All right, let's read it. This is the message translation, jesus speaking.

Speaker 1:

He said don't let this rattle you. You trust God, don't you Trust me? There is plenty of room for you in my father's house. If that were not so would I have told you that I am on my way to get a room ready for you, and if I'm on my way to get your room ready, I'll come back and get you so you can leave where I live. And you already know the road I'm taking.

Speaker 1:

Thomas, who is always doubting, he immediately spoke up. Yeah, I think he's always skeptical. He said Father, sorry, master, we have no idea where you're going. How do you expect us to know the road? Jesus said I am the road, also the truth, also the life. No one gets to the Father apart from me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him. You've even seen him.

Speaker 1:

Now, just a side note understand that Jesus has just mentioned the father and has mentioned him. So here we're seeing God the father and we're seeing God the son. Philip said Master, show us the father, then we'll be content. You've been with me all. Jesus is replying. You've been with me all jesus is replying. You've been with me all this time, philip, and you still don't understand. To see me is to see the father. Don't you believe that I am in the father and the father is in me? The words that I speak to you aren't mere words. I just I don't just make them up on my own. The father who lives in me crafts each word into a divine act. You see what Jesus is saying. I told you.

Speaker 1:

This part of the scripture is like one of the most confusing parts of scripture. Jesus said to see me is to see the father. I told you, literal. What do you think he means by saying to see me is to see the Father? If I ask you, what does the Father look like? He looks like Jesus. What does the Holy Spirit look like? Looks like Jesus. If you were to see the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit together in the distinct persons, they would look like triplets. Basically, it is what it is.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the Bible is so simple, so people find it difficult believing simple things. They rather it's very complex. So jesus says as you've seen me, you've seen the father. But then jesus makes another statement. He's not just talking about the father in heaven, he's talking about another father in him. He says the father who is in me, the father in me crafts each word into a divine act. So you see him introducing the Holy Spirit as the Father in him.

Speaker 1:

In this verse of scripture we see Jesus identifying as he is the Father. He also calls the Holy Spirit the Father and he makes references to the Father in heaven. So we see Jesus introduced the Father as a term. You know that is is instead of using the word Trinity. The Trinity is not in the Bible, but rather the word that the Bible uses to represent the Trinity is the word the father. So every time you hear Jesus talking about the father, or in several places in scripture, it's not just talking about God, the father in heaven, he's also talking about the Trinity. He's talking about the Godhead. For Trinity is for lack of a better expression, because the word Trinity is not in the Bible, but we see Godhead in the Bible.

Speaker 1:

We also see the Father in the Bible. So he says believe me, I am in my Father and my Father is in me. Do you see that now? If you can't believe that, believe what you see. So if, as I'm telling you that, the things I've told you now and as simple as it is, I've just given you the entire thing, right, and you don't believe it. You know Jesus is even saying just believe, believe me, I am in my father, my father is in me. If you can't believe that, believe what you see these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing, but even greater things.

Speaker 1:

This is where I'm going to that if you understand the truth of the Godhead, the fatherhood, you know, like the father, the Godhead, the father, the son, the Holy Spirit, if you understand the oneness of God, if you understand this truth about the God of the Bible, what did he say? He says you will do greater things because I, on my way to the Father, I'm giving you the same work to do that I've been doing. This revelation is what is going to take you places. This revelation is what is going to put you over as an ambassador in the kingdom. He says you can count on it from now on. Whatever you ask alongside the lines of who I am and what I'm doing, I'll do it. That's how the father will be seen for who he is in the son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I will do it. Wow, do you see that?

Speaker 1:

So, once you understand this is the reason why we said that for you to understand the, if you have a, if you know, understand the God of the Bible and you know him. You know, I told you that the correct pronouns, pronouns for God, the God of the Bible, spirit, son, holy Spirit, correct pronoun is is him, he, him, he, he's okay, masculine, um, singular, masculine, right. That is the correct pronoun, not they, not them. One. If you understand this oneness, that God is one, you understand all the other things. I mean. This is just. We're only scratching the surface. Don't think that this is just the end of this conversation because, like, I have a lot of information to give to you. I'm just, I just pray for, for grace, for God to just help me to show you all these things.

Speaker 1:

By the time we're done, I'm telling you, your relationship with God will be on a whole new level. It will be different. You know, you would know who you are because, let me tell you, the more you know God, you find yourself. That's how you find you, that's how you find your purpose. Your life is hid in Christ, in God. Do you understand? The Bible says that you are dead. Do you get it? You are dead. You are dead Like the you, the you that was born here. You are dead, you don't even exist. Your life is hid in Christ, in God. So, but then you would be experiencing death in your life, struggle in your life, as long as you don't find that your life that is hidden in Christ, in God. And the only way for you to discover that your life that is hidden in Christ is first to discover Christ. You have to first find Christ. You have to first understand him, get to know him, get close to him, find Christ first.

Speaker 1:

If I tell you that I hid something for you at number 20 Adela Street, you know, at a particular place, and I give you the location, you will not find the house first. Sorry, you will not find the thing. You will not go looking for the thing. You will first look for the location. When you get to the location, you find the house. When you get to the house, you find a way to get into the house. Then you look for it in the room that I told you that I hid it in Before you find the thing and you take it. You get it now. So your life is hidding Christ in God. You first have to find Christ, then you find your life that is hidding Christ. Glory to God, hallelujah, glory to God. This is just so awesome, like God is just so amazing. God is just so amazing anyways.

Speaker 1:

So the rest of the scripture in John chapter 14, you can read the rest of it, but a quick summary of what John chapter 14 and 15 says it says Jesus is the way. So that means that there are not many ways to God. Whoever told you that there are different ways to God? You know, and there are different. Yes, there are people that can crack into. You know universal laws and they work for them. That does not mean that they have found the way to the Father. Jesus says there are not many ways to the Father. There is only one way, and Jesus. Jesus is the only way to the Father. So that means you need to find Jesus first, okay, and you have to understand Jesus first. You need to give your life to Christ, you need to receive the Holy Spirit, and then your spirit is even quickened for you to understand these things that I'm telling you. He says Jesus is the Father.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, jesus is the way. That's number one. Number two Jesus is the father. We've talked about that already. He is in the father, the father is in him and he is the father. He is in the father. Are you getting? The father is in him, he is also the father. So if you know Jesus, you know the father, and I've said it in simple terms. If you were to look for what the image of jesus is, the image of jesus will not be different from the image of the father. I will not be different from the image of the holy spirit. They would look like triplets. If you were to observe the them distinctly separate person, the distinct separate personalities, they would look like trip they I'm using these not correct though language he will look like triplets. Anyways, I told you, the correct pronouns for God is is him he's and him he's he. Okay, yeah, so anyways, jesus is the father and the father is in him.

Speaker 1:

We've said that this is much more deeper than the lion king's um theme song. He lives in me, you know. No, it's different, it's much more deeper. You know, jesus made simple the mystery of the oneness of the godhead. He just explained in a nutshell that god is one. You know, holy Spirit, the Son, and God, the Father, is one Okay, oneness of God. He also explains Jesus also reveals that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons, yet one. So we find the doctrine of the Trinity here, even if the Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible, or you could say the Triune God, even if it's still not mentioned in the Bible.

Speaker 1:

Now the key question is do you believe? Because if you believe, you will do greater works than Jesus did. And what is this greater works that Jesus did? Also, he said you will always have answers to your prayers and you will always bear fruit prayers and you would always bear fruit, all right.

Speaker 1:

In chapter 15, we see Jesus say this is from verse one to eight. He says I am the true vine, my father is the husband man. Jesus says every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away, and every branch that bears fruit he purges that it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto. You Abide in me and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abides in the vine. No more can you except you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches, he that abides in me and I in him. The same brings forth much fruit, for without me you can do nothing.

Speaker 1:

Imagine a branch cut off from a source. Do you think it's going to live? No, it's going to wither away and die. If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth. This is just what I said Cast forth as a branch and is withered, and men gather them and cast them into the fire and they are burned, good for nothing but firewood. If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you will. He's repeating the same thing again. If you just stay with the knowledge of God, if you get to know God, if you maintain intimacy with God, he says, you will ask what you will. It shall be done unto you. He says. The reason why this is so is because God is glorified. God is glorified that you bear much fruit. This is how you show that you are his disciples, if you stay with the Lord in intimacy.

Speaker 1:

Now the choice of words that Jesus used here. You know the tree, you know the imagery of the tree, we are trees, he's also. He's a tree, you know, and we are his branches. The imagery here can seem strange. Strange, especially in the light of the fact that I've said that when you read the bible, it is literal. So is jesus really saying, is he saying literally, yes, but if jesus was not saying literally, are you saying he's lying, like I'm throwing it back at you now? If it's not literal, do you think jesus would be lying? Does he have any reason to just fabricate stuff? No, no, it is a fact. Okay, so does that mean we are literally trees, since the Bible says we should? Since I said we should always interpret the Bible literally. Yes, you are a tree. Jesus compares us to trees in several parts of the Bible.

Speaker 1:

You might already know that this is not just spiritual, spiritually true, but it is also physically true. You know that right. Well, some of you might already know that right, because the human body, if you, if you were to look at um, the, the systems in the human body, you find that the human body has several systems and structures that can be seen as having a tree-like or branching pattern. I started researching this when one time I was listening to I don't know if I can remember her now, anyway, but this neuroscientist, I think that's what she's yeah's, yeah, you know, and she started talking about how she found it, um, fascinating that the brain, you know, seems also. She also talked about the nervous system, you know, and she, she felt like it was shaped as a tree and because of that, you know, she got the revelation that you needed to speak right words, because the more you spoke negative words, it affects the trees and, you see, it started to wither. You know the nerves and all the parts of the body. You could actually see it if you were to observe it withering away. And when you speak good things to it, it began to blossom, you know, and when you speak good things to it, it began to blossom, you know. You know, that was like a long time ago, but that was what made me to start to research the rest of the human body and I found out that the nervous system, particularly the network of neurons and their dendrites, they resembled the branching pattern of trees.

Speaker 1:

I'm also particularly mentioned, fascinated at how you know, like this lady mentioned, the brain's neural network spread out like branches as well. Also, did you also know that the spinal cord, your spinal cord, with its peripheral nerves, extends into the body like a tree trunk that has branches? What about the respiratory system, specifically the bronchial tree that has a branching structure? What about the trachea? That's the windpipe which divides into the bronchi, which further branches into smaller bronchials resembling the structure of a tree? Should I continue? The circulatory system also has a branching system. The heart pumps blood through arteries that branch into smaller capillaries and similar to tree branches as well. Veins and venules bring blood back to the heart, completing the circuits. What about the vascular system within the organs, liver, kidneys they also all display a branching system and pattern. Blood vessels and ducts also spread out like branches to efficiently distribute and collect substances.

Speaker 1:

The lymphatic system have been particularly into, you know that recently trying, you know, to have lymphatic drainage, massages and stuff like that. I'm sure you too, you've been looking at it. If you're into fitness, yeah, you know so it also includes a network of lymphatic vessels and nodes, you know, if you know where to, just, you know, press down, you know, put your hands here, you know, just gentle, and then you're able to. There was one time fluid collected in my chest. I started having this chest pain, you know. It was just so painful and I was wondering what was going on for some time. You know, I would pray about it. It was. It just was not going away, but it was just. It was just so painful. And then one day I just felt like I should just, you know, start to massage it downwards, and you know that's how the pain went, so fluid actually collected in my chest, and all I needed to do was to do a lymphatic um drainage. You know so, this network of lymphatic vessels and nodes they also branch throughout the body to help in, you know, immune responses and also fluid balance, like I've just mentioned to you. Now, all these tree-like structures are efficient for ensuring effective distribution, communication across, you know, across different systems in the body.

Speaker 1:

Jesus said, remember Jesus said I am the vine, you are the branches. This is deep, because not only are we just the way we are, like this, as human, with the complete system Jesus reminds us of. So, when the Bible talks about us being the body of Christ, do you get it? Do you get it? Jesus is the head and we are the body, one being. How will God want to just join himself with us? Like it's much bigger, this thing, this thing about your walk with God, christianity, is much bigger than you even think it is. He says abide in me, and if you do, you will bear much fruit. Okay, so from this we see that the ultimate goal of knowing and understanding the God of the Bible is for you to bear much fruit, and you are only bearing fruit when your faith is producing results.

Speaker 1:

Okay, when we look at the two chapters John chapter 14, john 15 together, the bottom line is very clear Jesus wants you to understand the God of the Bible so that you will comprehend, you will understand, how the kingdom of God works. How do you claim that you're from a kingdom if you don't even know the king? If you understand how the kingdom of God works, you would bear much fruit. Understanding God means understanding his nature. God is one Revealed in three persons the Father, three distinct persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Father is God. When you truly understand God and His nature results, it will lead to results because you will understand the workings of his kingdoms clearly.

Speaker 1:

When you remain conscious of the oneness of God, fruitfulness will manifest in your life. And you see, this fruitfulness, this bearing much fruit, is progressive and it comes in stages, because he mentions three things. He says where you've never borne fruits before, you will begin to bear fruit. If you have never known anything like that before, you know you're not close to God. All your miracles have been random. You know from, maybe, prophets, you know from different people just speaking words into your life. You've not really on your own been able to have faith for something and believe God for it and see the manifestation he says that will change.

Speaker 1:

You will begin to bear fruit when you have been bearing fruits before. You will begin to bear much more fruit to get. So for someone who knows these things, you're listening, but you know it and this is like a refresher course for you. Guess what? You'll begin to bear much fruit because revelation is progressive. You heard about this years ago, but you're hearing it again right now. That means there's something else that God wants to show you. There's another perspective. As I'm talking to you, there are even things that you may be seeing that I'm not even seeing. There's another perspective that God wants to show you so that you begin to bear much fruit Because remember he said he prunes. You know he prunes you. Where you've borne more fruits, you will begin to bear much fruit. And this is where we're looking at John 15 to every branch in me that bears not fruit. He takes away every branch that bears fruit. He purges it that it may bring forth more fruits.

Speaker 1:

So I want you to understand one thing that bearing fruit is a choice. Okay, it's within your power of. I want you to understand one thing that bearing fruit is a choice. Okay, it's within your power of choice for you to bear fruit. The power of choices is just so significant. Free moral agency is so significant that it can sometimes cause God's power to remain latent and inactive in your life. You know. So you have to choose it. That's why I'm sharing these things with you.

Speaker 1:

You have to choose to bear fruit.

Speaker 1:

It does not depend on God. You've been waiting on God for a long time now. It does not depend on God. It depends on you. You have to choose to walk with God. You have to choose to walk in his word. You have to choose to worship him, like intentionally, to have a relationship, to have a chat with him every single day.

Speaker 1:

You know to allow, to wait for him to tell you something. You know to every relationships. You know you just meet somebody. You're already exploring it. No, no, no.

Speaker 1:

The first thing is to do is to ask him. And if he has not said anything, don't move. Don't move anywhere. If he tells you, just wait, just wait, just wait. In some situations these people will be taken out of your life. I'm telling you, you know you have to ask him.

Speaker 1:

Even how I handle my children. I have issues with them. I pray, I ask God what is the best way for me to deal with this matter. You know, children are very different. Everybody is different, people are different. Babies are all different. I've taken care of a lot of babies in my lifetime because I love kids. You know, and from the day they are born they exhibit their behavior, their character. You can see it very. You just have to to figure them out and then you know how to win them over.

Speaker 1:

You know you have to to to discover how to win over babies.

Speaker 1:

You know you have to choose. Choose to walk with God, choose to bear fruit. Allow God to prune you so that you will bear much fruit. And this cycle continues until you bear much fruit. Jesus is the living vine. We are the living branches.

Speaker 1:

Jesus made it clear that when we are bearing much fruit, then the Father is glorified. This is what glorifies God. Let me tell you, god is not glorified when we live in confusion, lack, poverty, sickness, depression. No, you're not glorifying God. Your tears do not glorify God unless it's tears of worship and adoration. Otherwise they don't glorify God.

Speaker 1:

You know your tears of sadness, of help me, god. It doesn't glorify God. He's only glorified when you receive answers to your prayers. He's glorified when the word of God, when his word, produces results in your life. He's glorified when you are able to take advantage of the covenant, your covenant rights in his kingdom. You are able to exercise your authority in his name, not only to improve your own life, but also to bless other people and ultimately advance the kingdom of God. At the end of everything, the advancement of the kingdom of God is top priority, but you see, the kingdom of God cannot advance without you first advancing. God is glorified when his word produces results in your life. He is glorified when you are able to bless others. In our next episode, we'll be talking about who is God looking at it in-depthly, so stay tuned. Thank you so much for listening tonight.
