Have you ever wondered about the mystery of speaking in tongues, what it is, how it works or why it holds such supernatural power? You're not alone. This particular episode is more than just an expose on this wonderful spiritual practice, but it's also going to be a game changer for you that will unlock realms beyond the natural. So if you're curious, buckle up, because we're diving into a journey of biblical secrets. I'm going to be sharing personal revelations and also the mind-blowing benefits that will come with the practice of this divine gift. Welcome to DIY Salvation Podcast, where you take responsibility for your faith journey and I. I am your host, pastor E, and I'm so excited to have you here. Today's topic is how to unlock the supernatural. In our last episode, titled how to Use the Prophetic Word, we explored 2 Peter, chapter 1, verse 19,. That says that we have a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the day star arises in your hearts. In that episode, we emphasize three key points. Number one is that the prophetic word that you receive, you have to take it as being sure and certain. Every prophetic word carries within it the seed to produce what it speaks about. So, even if you do not understand how it's going to unfold, you must take every word that resonates in your spirit very seriously. The second thing we talked about is that most prophetic words are not automatic. Even when a prophecy seems to come to pass instantly, oftentimes it means that the prophetic cycle had already been completed. And the third thing we talked about is that we have to take heed to the prophetic word. You know you have to take it first, like a light shining in a dark place where you are yet to see the manifestation. You have to hold on to that prophetic word by praying, by focusing on it, by meditating consistently about it or confessing it consistently, until you said how long are you going to do this? You're going to do it until you see the promise become a reality. You don't stop halfway, because then you've aborted the cycle of the prophetic word.
Speaker 1:Now today's topic will build upon this foundation and we will be exploring how to unlock the supernatural, specifically through the hidden power of praying in tongues. You know, we said you have to hold on to your prophetic word by praying, and by praying I don't just mean you know speaking words in your understanding for a long period of time. You know, really, I don't even know how people, how Christians, who do not speak in tongues actually cope, because I do know that even with speaking in tongues, you find that there are different cycles for you to be able to see manifestation, you know. So I could be praying for a job and I could get a job in a month, and then I could be praying concerning my business and I could get it in two months, or I could even get it in a week, or sometimes you see people go through these things like in a year, and they are speaking in tongues, right. So I now wonder because speaking in tongues has to do with you generating spiritual energy, you know, for that thing to come, to pass into this realm, to come into this realm Because they already exist in the realm of the spirit right Now. If you are praying in your understanding all the while, I just wonder how long it will take you, because people who are praying in tongues, sometimes it takes them a year, two years, three years, depending on the situation or the circumstance. It takes them some time. You know it has to do with a lot of, you know, laboring in prayer and then you're speaking, only your understanding, and I'm wondering, like is it good? Maybe that's why some people's manifestations come, like 20 years later, 30 years later, why? Because there's not enough in tongues and so let's just dive in, okay?
Speaker 1:So for me personally, I discovered the power of praying in tongues, like much later in my walk with God, although when I first gave my life to Christ, you know, I started speaking in tongues, right, but it was on. It was not until later that I discovered the power of praying in tongues. And I'm telling you, the moment I discovered the, the benefits of praying in tongues, or the power of praying in tongues, right, my entire life just changed. It was from then, it was from me, like I'd been a Christian for many years, you know, and I'd been in ministry also for many years, but from the moment I started praying in tongues my ministry everything just changed, you get. So I discovered it later, because if I had known, I would have been practicing it from way back. And when I met some like pastors that have been practicing it from the time, they were young, because they had parents who, you know, encouraged them or they had influences in their lives, they encouraged them to practice it from secondary school, you know, and I'm just like wow, I'm just blown away by how much you know progress they've made in their lives. You have to speak in tongues. You have to speak in tongues. But the good thing about this episode is that I'm going to go lay a foundation and then, gradually, we're going to build on it. If we're not able to finish, we'll finish in another episode, all right.
Speaker 1:So in my experience in praying in tongues, my interaction with praying in tongues, I found out that every other spiritual gifts that I now operate in, be it faith, be it healing, even my teaching ministry, preaching, working on miracles, casting out demons, writing books you know, my creativity generally was any of these things all like. These spiritual gifts were either revealed or developed through the practice of praying in tongues, when I wasn't really praying in tongues that often I could. Only I knew that I was supposed to write books, like lots of it. You know, um, I knew I had, I had the skill, but I just didn't have the, maybe the capacity, you know, to actually write. I knew what I wanted to talk about, but I just don't know how. I just didn't feel energetic inside enough to be able to pen down anything but one time. I started praying in tongues, like for about six months stretch, you know, more than six hours in a day, and then, within that period, I could sit and then I could finish writing a book in a day.
Speaker 1:Now, I'm not talking about research. I'm not talking about research. I'm talking about something that you sit down and the Holy Spirit just begins to download some of which you don't even know, some of which you don't even know, but then by the time you check with the Bible, the verses, you just know that this is something that was just downloaded from the throne room. That kind of thing where I cannot even boast that I have much like on my own. I have this kind of information, you know.
Speaker 1:So you, these kind of things that are happening in my life, my life and I was like the gift of tongues. You know, from the gift of tongues you can unlock any and every spiritual gift that either you desire, or maybe something that god already put in you but you didn't know that you had. Do you understand? You have there's so many things that god has put in you don't even know that you have. There's so many things that God has written. You don't even know that you have them until you know you begin to pray in tongues more often and then they start to, you know, unveil, gradually, you start to see it is coming out and then you, even if you, if you practice the skills, you find out that there is already an anointing on that skill that God has given to you. All right, so without this gift of praying in tongues, you know, I wonder how my experience in all these areas that I've mentioned will be. They'll probably be, you know, minimal or non-existent, you know so. So, yeah, it's something that you have to desire, that you would do If you're already speaking in tongues. You have to practice to do it more. You know, if you're not doing it more, if you don't speak in tongues at all, keep listening, because I have more information for you, all right.
Speaker 1:So when I was growing up, I had very little regard for the gift of tongues, and I know that this is many people's experience. You know people. I met a pastor who had been praying. He had been praying in tongues for many years, but then, I don't know how, he started this study or research and he came to the conclusion that, although he could speak in tongues he's just gibberish, you know. Because, like, when he met me, he was like you know that he was like you know, all that thing that you guys do is gibberish. And I said I can do it, let me do it for you. And then he started, you know, praying in tongues, and then he says it's just gibberish. I said, why do you say it's just gibberish? He says because there's no understanding in it. Okay, so you can see that this person does not even understand what he's doing. Do it and he can isolate it from his normal language. You know, it's something that he does have. He got an anointing, but he just doesn't know what to do with the gift. All right.
Speaker 1:So I know a lot of people have very little regard for the gift of tongues. For me, my family, my sister, was the first person to become a born again Christian. We were raised Anglican and my father, you know, back then he used to frequently deliver sermons. You know, I wouldn't say he was a pastor, but I don't know the reason why he was delivering sermons back then, because I was quite young and even when I grew older I was not particularly, you know, like close to my dad for me to be able to ask those kinds of questions, but he used to deliver sermons back then, but then he also strongly disagreed with the teaching teaching on tongues, speaking in tongues, because he and he called it heresy.
Speaker 1:Now, when my sister became born again, you know she started attending this church, you know, and you know she received the gift there and all of that. It actually created a storm in our home. And to make matters worse, anytime, you know, my dad would confront her about maybe neglecting her normal household duties or anything at all. When it came to them, scolding her for something, do you know how she would respond? I would never forget it. She would respond in tongues like really angry, loud tongues. So it just looked like for me, from where I was looking. It just looked like a tantrum.
Speaker 1:I completely disagreed with what she was doing. It looked really strange, you know, because this is someone who back then I knew was not a problematic child per se. You know she wasn't. She was just. She was just herself. You know what I mean? Like just doing her normal thing and all of that. But then she gets born again and then she has this weird character out of the blues where you talk to her and she replies you in tongues, like, you know, like if you're scolding her, not like maybe normal conversation, but if you're scolding her, she replies in tongues. So of course that caused like issues in the house, you know, and it really, really, you know, made my father, like um, frustrated. That was the reason why he started calling Pentecostals um, um, fanatics, you know.
Speaker 1:So for many years the topic of speaking in tongues became a taboo in our home and for me personally, I viewed it with contempt because every time it came up it seemed to create division in our family. I didn't understand it. But then again, if you're like me or like back, then the lack of understanding of a thing should not lead you to instantly speak against it. Sometimes just observe and just move on, you know, it could look wrong, it could look very nasty and things like that. Sometimes, just observation, when it has to do with the kingdom of God and there are many things that are unknown in the kingdom of God, you know, there are many things that I do not know. I'm searching. I do know some things because God has shown me some things and that's part of my calling. But I know when I didn't even know these things. I told you. More time I spent praying in tongues, I began to know more of these things, but there was a time I didn't even know these things. So there's no need for you to speak against things that you do not understand and you mustn't really understand everything. Like I said, there are many unknowns, but the Bible also warns us against criticizing things that we do not understand. That you can find in 2 Peter 2, verse 12. It says that people speak evil of the things that they do not understand.
Speaker 1:Anyways, so for the longest time, I dismissed speaking in tongues as unnecessary. I didn't see any reason for it. My family was deeply religious, but it was frowned upon in our home, right. So, and like I told you, my father would call it heresy, you know. And after my sister got it, it just felt like she was challenging everything that we had been taught. So of course I rejected it, you know. But here's the thing just because something is unfamiliar does not mean that it isn't powerful. You know, that you don't believe in something does not negate its power or its efficacy, you know. Or how good that stuff is. You know what I mean. So, anyways, years after my father had received sorry my sister had received the gift of tongues.
Speaker 1:I too, you know, kind of, I also became what my father would call unorthodox, you know, all Pentecostal right so, and my father also, you know he started, you know, giving me, you know, hell on earth, worse than what my sister even had suffered. You know, it was really really worse, you know, and because he feared that I'd join the fanatics, he didn't want to even give me room. In fact, I used to say this to my sister. I would tell her that it was because of her, because she didn't pave the way. She was supposed to be born again in my house, but she didn't pave the way. You know, for the rest of us who were going to be saved, you know, to have like a soft landing. You know, she made it so hard for us that you know it was tough really. You know. I know countless times I had to sleep outside. You know, if I dared go to church, there was problem. I had to suffer lots of beatings from my parents, you know, and I was already big, you know like I wasn't like a small girl. You know what I mean. So, um, you can imagine you're already past teenage and then they're beating you like beating? Oh my goodness, just because you went to church, you know. So, yeah, anyways, when I got born again, I started attending this small, vibrant church, you know, and there I was.
Speaker 1:I was taught about the gifts, you know, and how I could receive the Holy Spirit and that if I receive the Holy Spirit, it will be accompanied by the evidence of speaking in tongues. I learned it. The first time I learned it, in fact, I actually challenged the pastor. But over time I started, you know, calming down to really really get the word in and I started yearning for it. My Bible teacher, such a cheerful, humorous man you know that I call fondly Uncle Benji, so he made the teaching really simple and engaging and he shared stories with me about people who had, you know, received the Holy Spirit, and he also connected me with such people, you know. So I met with these people. They would talk about it, their experiences. So I was fired up, you know, I really wanted it.
Speaker 1:But do you know that, despite my longing, I didn't receive the gift of praying in tongues or speaking in tongues right away? Weeks passed, months passed. Everyone else, you know, that were in that particular class with me in church had already started speaking in tongues but me. They didn't have anything spectacular from the first day. They prayed for them. They received it. They started speaking in tongues, but I didn't receive it, you know. So I prayed, you know, I begged God for it. I didn't know about fasting that time and, of course, I wasn't praying in tongues, so I was just praying in my understanding oh God, want to do this for me. Oh God, do this for me, oh God, want to do this for me. You know, but one terrifying night, something happened that changed everything for me. Something tragic had happened. You know, there but one terrifying night, something happened that changed everything for me. Something tragic had happened.
Speaker 1:You know, there had been a bloody war between our community, my community, and the neighboring community. Back then such wars were quite frequent between the two communities. So if you know where I'm from and, um, you know, you probably know the community I'm talking about, okay, so there were. Those wars were quite frequent back then. You know, you probably know the community I'm talking about. Ok, so those wars were quite frequent back then. You know, now there's a lot of peace over the years.
Speaker 1:So it was now reported that prominent men from my village were being kidnapped and killed, you know. And so our community was on high alert, you know so the king of our community, a very proactive, young, strikingly very handsome man back then, you know, he was the one that led the group of soldiers and young I won't call them soldiers because, you know, when they have such wars they usually recruit young, young men, you know, who were not soldiers, in particular because they wanted to create a more formidable army, anyway, so these people had come to the house, you know so the king was there. So you can imagine seeing the king in your house, strange. And then you now see all this group of people with him. You see, for me, from the back door, that I used, you know, and I listened to the tense conversations, you know, between them and my father. They were all outside, they drove in.
Speaker 1:You know, I listened to the tense conversations, you know, between them and my father. They were all outside, they drove in. You know different cars, and they came in and these men came out of their the cars with machine guns. You know their eyes were like blood shots. You know, they were stoned. You could see even the way that their, their speech was slurry, you know. So you could. You know that these people are already stoned and then they were ready for, like you know, war, like they were.
Speaker 1:Just, I don't know, it was just so sinister looking at these things and seeing it, it just, it makes me, um, it made me, rather made me feel even more disturbed, because not just that, among the people that came, also, where some of my father's estranged relatives are also as well, that my dad had considered untrustworthy, you know so, even upon seeing them, my mom, when my mom was about to go, she told me you know what, even these people that were going, we were not even sure, because look at the people that are coming to take us to safety. You know, how do we know we're even going to come back alive, because our enemies are amongst these people right now. What if they just came under the guys? We don't know the truth? What if they came under the guys that they want to protect us, and then they take us somewhere and then we're gone. And she said you know what? Just pray, we're little, I was young, you know and she was like please, you guys, just pray, make sure you pray, take your siblings and then you pray for us, because we don't really know, you know, um, people that are trying to save us, you know, uh, not even people that we trust, and stuff like that. So her words sent a chill through me.
Speaker 1:I was 14, 14 years old at that time, you know, come to think about it, I think I was really quite mature for my age, also, I could say, because I was, you know, born again quite early, anyways. So I ran back to the house, to the back of the house, you know, because then, after my mom had spoken to me, like that, you can imagine now where is my mind? You know, like in Nigeria, my mind don't court like this Gosh. So I went to the back of the house. I was desperate to pray. I tried to pray. I opened my mouth. No words came out. My thoughts were frozen, you know, with fear. I couldn't think, I didn't even know what was going on. I was confused. And then now I'm like, okay, me, take care of all my siblings and my siblings are quite a lot, you know, all of my siblings. You know what to do now. So I tried again. But, you know, something extraordinary happened Instead of my usual prayers coming out of my mouth, I began speaking in a language that I'd never heard before and I didn't even know I was doing it.
Speaker 1:I was just praying. But then I stopped, my mind caught up with what was going on, and then I realized I was speaking in tongues. So I jumped, I screamed and I was screaming. I did it, did it. I did it like I completely forgot what was going on. I was like I did it. I did so. I tried again, and this time I was actually speaking loudly in other tongues. So I kept on speaking. You know so, even if my heart was troubled, my mouth and my mouth could not even find the words. Guess what? My spirit prayed. My spirit prayed, awesome, my spirit prayed.
Speaker 1:First corinthians, chapter 14, verse 14. It says for if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayed, but my understanding is unfruitful. So whoever is coming back to say it's gibberish does not know what they're talking about. Because normally your understanding is unfruitful. The bible did not hide it I. Normally you don't have understanding of what you're saying, unless, of course, you can actually ask for an interpretation of it.
Speaker 1:You know some of these things. They come, like I said, it comes with a gift of praying tongues. Another um example. This is just by the way. But there's another example I wanted to give earlier on about the fact that you know, some gifts started to open up as a prayer in tongues. You know, I know my. When I have um visions, you know it.
Speaker 1:Some gifts started to open up as I prayed in tongues. Do you know, I know my. When I have visions, you know it was very. It would just come spontaneously, but not like when I wanted to pray about something. I will not even be able to reach out and see what I wanted to see, you know, but I noticed that other people could do it. You know, like we'll just pray now, just listen to God, and then they see something. And then me, sometimes I pray and pray and then I feel sleepy. It's only when I sleep and I have a dream and it's very vivid, and then I know that that's it. But do you know when I started praying in tongues for longer periods, like I'm fasting, I'm praying for three days? I'm telling you that period when you're hungry, you know, when it feels as if your body is so weak and you're just about to, you know faint, and then you start to pray in tongues and shut your eyes. It looks as if somebody just cleared the cobwebs from your eyes and you can see into the realm of the spirit, you know, clearly, you know. So I have a lot I want to tell you, but I have to take it in stride, anyway.
Speaker 1:So that night I was telling you about, I, gathered my siblings, we prayed and then we sang, you know. And of course they didn't know what had happened and I chose not to tell them because I was protecting them, trying not to scare them even more. So I carried the burden alone, but thankfully I knew where to lay the burden right. But after putting the children to sleep, I stayed up watching and praying because outside our home had stationed ununiformed soldiers, you know, and they were stationed, their presence, you know, everywhere. So for me it was not. It was not really that reassuring for me that they were outside, but more terrifying because it felt as if something was going to happen, you know. So I kept on looking out of the window, my heart pounding at the thought of what might unfold in the night. I didn't really really sleep that night.
Speaker 1:But then, do you know, god spoke to me, you know, from Psalm 127, from verse 1 to 2. He said Except the Lord, build the house, the labor in vain that build it, except the Lord keep the city. The watchman, wicked, but in vain. That was the part that got to me, that you see all these guys stationed outside of the house. They are even watching in vain, unless it's the Lord that keeps the house and he says it is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late to eat the bread of sorrows, for God gives his beloved sleep. I said, oh God, I thank you for you, give your beloved sleep, give me sleep. And I said, lord, watch the house for me, watch everything, because I mean, I can't even trust in the, you know, um, in the people that are watching the house right now. I can only trust in you, god. So in that moment I understood there was no point in me watching over the situation that God was already watching over. God was already at work.
Speaker 1:That scripture came alive in my circumstance. Like I told you, I was young, but you can imagine I have not even forgotten. It is still fresh in my memory, you know. And so I laughed when I read it. Suddenly, my body felt light and that night, for the first time since the chaos began, I slept soundly, because he truly gives his beloved sleep. The next day, of course, my parents were returned safely. The threat vanished. We never heard of further attacks between the two warring communities again, but that night marked the beginning of my adventures with God, just like how tonight can mark the beginning of your adventures with God if you've not been practicing this wonderful gift that God has given to us.
Speaker 1:Now, when we talk about prayer, why does it have to be speaking in tongues? Because can't ordinary prayer, in my understanding, do it, you know, especially when we're talking about the prophetic word and bringing it to come to pass. No, your prayer, ordinary prayer, in your understanding, cannot do it. Okay, if it does it, it might take you another 20 or 30 years, right, but speaking in tongues is a game changer. Jesus was the first person to introduce the topic of speaking in tongues. Did you know that? That the phrase is first like?
Speaker 1:Where the word, the phrase speaking in tongues first appears, is in Mark, chapter 16, verse 17, where Jesus declares he says that all the signs shall follow them, and all the signs shall follow them, and all the signs shall follow them that believe, he says, in my name, they shall cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, and they shall speak with new tongues anyway. So now jesus promised that there are certain signs that are going to follow believers you and I. You know as a believer how do I know that you're a believer? You would be able to cast out demons. It's not specifically for pastors only, it's for everybody. If God should open your eyes for you to see that the demons that are on this earth right now are way more than all human beings together, they are way more than, and they are scrambling to get into your human body so that they'll be able to operate on the earth, you know so God gave us, every single one of us, the power to cast out demons. Then he says he gave us the power to speak with new tongues. Then he says you'll handle serpents without harm, both spiritual serpents and, um, physical sapiens. He says they will drink deadly substances without harm. Do you know that you cannot be poisoned? And you also lay hands on the sick and they will recover. So there are also things that are in this promise that Jesus said. You know, that seems so big, but then we often neglect the fact that he talked about the fact that we will speak with new tongues, that we will speak with new tongues.
Speaker 1:The speaking in tongues is listed among the signs of the believer, just like casting out demons, healing and healing the sick. But ironically, christians some christians would rather focus on external appearances. You know, your clothing, style, modesty, that's how they call it jewelry or not wearing of jewelry, and then personal grooming. You look so neat, you know. And all of that rather than these powerful spiritual signs that Jesus himself emphasized. So, when we look at the term from this verse of scripture, speaking in tongues, it comes from two words, two greek words lalio, which means to vocalize or to exercise speech, and then it means and also from the word glossa, which refers to a language that was not naturally acquired Yet you can speak it Already. Just from the definition, you see that this thing is a miracle, nothing short of a miracle. Scientifically, this phenomenon, if you put the words together, is now called glossa, lalia it's a combination of the two Greek words is now called glosolalia it's a combination of the two Greek words, you know, glosa and lalia. But again, this foundation is very, very important. So don't take it for granted, because it's something that came from the Lord Jesus. So we take it very seriously.
Speaker 1:For me personally, in my walk with God, I've always been fascinated by how things work. I don't just like just theory, I want to see the practice of it. I want to be able to say this is how I mean you can tell from the topic DIY Salvation right, sorry, I said topic from the podcast named DIY Salvation, because I want to see the practice. I'm constantly searching for how to understand how spiritual principles could be applied to my life so that I'll be able to produce greater results. But I found out that if you commit to praying in the spirit for extended periods, you will begin to step into new dimensions of faith, of revelation and of supernatural power. You will literally unlock the supernatural. I'm not just talking about you, just speaking in terms of five minutes or for 15 minutes.
Speaker 1:You have to create a system where, if this is your first time and you've not done beyond one hour, try and do one hour daily, be consistent. Then move to two hours daily, then move to three hours daily, then move to four hours daily. Do you get? Just keep going, keep going, really, if you're a man of God and you're not doing. I heard this from Bishop Oyedipo. He says that if you're a man of God and you're not doing at least three hours a day, you are not serious. So if you're a man of God, listening, and that's your situation, I'll tell you again, you are not serious.
Speaker 1:So, three hours daily, prepare your time like, organize it, you know, do it at midnight, do it at any time. That is good for you. Break it if you want to, you know, throughout the day, you know, speak in tongues throughout as you go during the day. It will even help you to, you know, speak in tongues throughout, um, as you as you go during the day. It will even help you to, you know, reduce the talking. Reduce, you know, the the the talking. Some of us, we, we just, I think we just talk too much, you know so. But doing practice, practicing this thing all through the day, you find that it reduces issues that you didn't think you know it would reduce.
Speaker 1:Okay, so this episode is a call to action, a nudge for you to spend prolonged times in prayer prolonged, protracted, prolonged, you know so that you'll be able to unlock your full potential and you'll be able to fulfill your divine destiny. If you don't pray, chances are that you will never fulfill your divine destiny. There is no amount of crying, there is no amount of wishing, there is no amount of prayers in your understanding that will help you to fulfill your divine destiny if you don't pray in tongues. There's no other way around it. And let me tell you, nobody can do this prayer for you. I cannot do it for you, even if I decide to do it for you every day. Every day, I'm telling you, it's not the same thing. You will have to increase in capacity yourself Some prayers that you're asking God for. Let me tell you, the solution is just for you to change location in the realm of the spirit. That's just the solution. But there's no way you're going to change location in the realm of the spirit without you praying in tongues. You have to pray in tongues.
Speaker 1:So why is praying in tongues such a game changer in a believer's life? One, it's your direct communication with God. 1 Corinthians, chapter 14, verse 2, says For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God, for no man understandeth him, howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries. So it's a direct communication with God, but you're speaking mysteries. You know there's nobody else that can even use most of us. You don't even know what you're saying, because the Holy Spirit is making intercession for you. But guess what? It's the kind of prayer that you can always trust because it will put you in the right place, where you're supposed to be. You know, when you pray in tongues, you bypass human limitations. You speak directly to God. There is nothing, like you know.
Speaker 1:Sometimes we think that we can get God, with our emotionally blackmailed God, into doing something for us. So when we come, we're crying, we have all this emotional you know drama going on and we forget that God looks at the heart directly. He does not care about all your words, he looks directly at your heart. He already knows what you were going to ask him, what you're going to say and how deeply you actually feel it. You don't even need to act, any drama. You know for him. So but then when you're praying in tongues, the holy spirit helps you to pray in a way that will hit the nail on the head instantly.
Speaker 1:You know, I know my son growing up. Of course, both his parents, his dad, is not from the same place where I am. So of course, naturally, we speak English in the house, okay, but because you know why they call it mother tongue, but because I speak my language. You know, with my siblings, with my mom, my family, you know things like that. I speak my language. So somehow he just knows my language. You know somewhere inside of him.
Speaker 1:So when we visited the village one time he had a an interaction with a sister and she said to him say you know what? I believe that you know how to speak this language very somewhere. She was jokingly saying it is somewhere inside of you, just look inside and just unlock it. And he took it seriously. Well, you know, a little boy, he took it very seriously, went back, thought about it and unlocked it seriously. I don't know how he did it, but you know, I found out one day.
Speaker 1:I was talking with my mom and then he my mom said something funny and then my son was passing by and then we both laughed and then my son laughed. I was like come, come, do you understand what we just said he? He said yes. I said what did we say? He interpreted. I was like what? When did you understand? I'm telling you he doesn't speak it, but he understands it. There's nothing you're going to say in his hearing that he would not understand it. But now I'm telling you. This is cool to me because then when we have somebody in the house, I want, I want to say something, you know, a mystery or a secret to him, you know, in the midst of every other person. I'll just tell him. He will laugh or he'll respond and that's it. And it's so cool. I actually know a couple that have deliberately learned french so that they can have intimate conversations privately, even in the midst of guests, you know.
Speaker 1:So that kind of private conversation where you know, nobody really knows what you're talking about, but then it starts to manifest, it's hitting here. It's hitting here and Satan is taking on our ways. It's like when did this happen? How is this? How did this happen? That's why Satan is constantly working against you praying in tongues, because so many things God can do without even announcing it to anybody, even you don't even know it. But it starts to manifest in your life, announcing it to anybody, even you don't even know it, but it starts to manifest in your life and you're like, wow, this is the result of me praying in tongues. And Satan is like oh no. So Satan tries to fight it. You have to find a way to pray in tongues. He would not want you sleep will not allow you food if you're not fasting, if you don't have the training to fast, food will not allow you. But you have to find a way and get this thing done.
Speaker 1:The second reason why praying in tongues is a game changer is that it builds your faith. This is the only way you can build your faith. You can believe more. You know, if you feel like you're not able to, especially like maybe you're trying to believe God for a particular miracle that seems impossible, let me tell you pray in tongues. After a while, you find that that thing is not looking like. You don't deserve it anymore. It's not looking like normal, something that anybody can believe god for. And the moment your heart is in that state and you start to make declarations, guess what you will get. What you say okay. So, um, jude 120, building yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the holy ghost. All right, the next, um. The next reason why praying in tongues is a game changer is that you unlock the supernatural, and that's the topic that you unlock the supernatural. I've said this throughout this broadcast that every major breakthrough that I've experienced has only come after prolonged prayer in tongues. So do the same, of course. The next point is spiritual warfare. Speaking in tongues is a weapon.
Speaker 1:Romans, chapter 8, verse 26, says that we do not know how to pray. Oh, my goodness, you don't know how to pray. Don't think you know. This realm that we live in is a blind realm. Sometimes your prayers you know your prayers, the things that you're saying as the solution to that problem can never be the solution. If God was to follow some of your prayers, there is no way you would get answers to your prayers Can never be the solution. If you're sick of a very terrible disease, right, and then you're sick, sometimes your prayer will be terrible disease, right, and then you're sick. Sometimes your prayer will be God, please just reduce the pain. But if you were to pray in tongues, what you're saying is that that thing should be completely removed, and not just that it should be reversed. Do you think I mean so? You don't know how to pray. You don't know how to pray, but when you're praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit intercedes for you in the way that you're supposed to pray, and he does with groanings that words cannot express. He also tells us that you should also, in your prayer, you should, leave the area of petition and enter into groanings where your tongues have entered, you know another level. You need to spend more time praying in tongues. Okay?
Speaker 1:So in this realm, like I said, is a blind realm, and blind people often have to be led by other people who can see. So for us now, the realm that we cannot see is the realm of the spirit. So you need a spirit to lead you. This is the reason why human beings have a special affinity towards the spiritual. All right, whether it's juju voodoo or god himself. Okay, because you need a spirit who can see in the realm of the spirit to lead you, and that's the reason why the bible says you have to be led by the spirit. But some of us cannot even hear when the holy spirit is leading you. You can't even tell how he's leading you, or when he's leading you, or what he's even saying in his leading. The only way for you to know is that you have to marinate yourself, you know, in his presence by praying in other tongues Glory to God.
Speaker 1:Now, if you desire the gift and you have not yet received it, this is what you can do. You're going to ask in faith right now. I'm going to pray for you. You ask in faith and receive it immediately, like, just believe it. Now, after I've prayed for you and you've received it by faith, I'm going to pray in tongues, just for a minute, you know. And then, as you hear me praying in tongues, you feel the Spirit of God moving in you, because I assume for you to want to do this. You're already a Christian, you're already born again. You receive the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit can move in you. He's in you already, so you'll feel the movement.
Speaker 1:Don't overthink it. Just begin to say the words that sound like gibberish to you. Just begin to say it out loud. It might sound strange at first, but trust the process and afterwards make sure you do it as often as you can. Amen, let's pray.
Speaker 1:Father. Lord, we thank you for the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit. Lord, you said that for us that ask you for the Holy Spirit that you will give us, because a man cannot give a scorpion to a child who is asking for bread. And it's even easier for you, as a father, to give the Holy Spirit for those that ask you. Father, god, I ask you for these ones who are listening, lord, that they will receive the Holy Spirit come upon you. Let the power of the Most High overshadow you. Let the Holy Ghost come upon you now. Let the power of the Most High overshadow you. Let the Holy Ghost come upon you. Let the power of the Most High overshadow you. Let the Holy Ghost come upon you. Let the power of the Most High overshadow you. Let the Holy Ghost come upon you. Let the power of the Most High overshadow you. In the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you, heavenly Father. In Jesus' name, amen.
