What makes a covenant? Jesus did it all. I already told you before that Christianity is a covenant, a real, binding spiritual covenant with Elder Leon, the Most High God. Human beings have made so many covenants with devils and demons. You know, for millennia, and you already can see the results of such covenants that they've made with demons. Right, they have to frequently renew the covenants. They have to induct their children into it. You know, initiate their children into it. Do you understand?
Speaker 1:The most binding covenants are blood covenants, and not just that. They are powerful because it attracts spirits. Do you see? Christianity is a blood covenant and it's a blood covenant signed in the blood of El Elyon, the Most High God. God died, god died. God died. The benefits of this covenant with God, it's just too much. God took your place, he died, but, thank God, he arose again. Now, like every covenant, every other covenant, this covenant with the Most High God has terms. It has benefits and yet it has requirements. But here's the good news Jesus fulfilled all of them. If you missed the other podcast about the covenant, go and catch up, because this is part five in the series. So let's break this down.
Speaker 1:What makes a covenant, even in the natural world. In both ancient times and even in modern legal agreements, covenants are sealed with the following key elements. Number one a representative. Someone has to stand on behalf of the people. Two, there must be blood or sacrifice. This signifies the seriousness or the permanence of the agreement. Three, there will be vows, very clear promises and obligations. Four, there will be witnesses who are there to confirm the legitimacy of the covenant. Five, there will be a sign or a token, a physical symbol, to remember or to enforce the covenant. Six, there will be a meal, you know, or a communion to celebrate the binding relationship. And seven, there will be a written document that details the terms of agreement, written document that details the terms of agreement. Now we're going to compare all of this with what Jesus did.
Speaker 1:The first point is that there has to be a covenant representative For us. Our covenant representative was Jesus himself. Just like Adam represented all mankind, jesus came as the last Adam, all right, standing in our place, to represent us before God. And this is this is like, it's just so awesome because God. It shows how God was so magnanimous, so merciful, so good to us. No man could have been able to do that to stand and represent, you know mankind before God, because we're all sinners. Mankind was totally lost. The first Adam had messed up terribly and worse things were happening on the earth because of the presence of evil. But Jesus came as the last Adam. That was the reason why he became a man. That's why God himself said you know what? I'm going to go serve these people myself. I'll do this by myself. And he came down and became the last aider, standing in our place to represent us before God. 1 Timothy 2, verse 5, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men the man, christ Jesus.
Speaker 1:The second point is that there must be blood or sacrifice, because this signifies the seriousness and the permanence of the agreement. The blood in our case was the cross. Covenants are never made without blood. In the Old Testament, in the Old Testament, bulls and goats were slain daily, but Jesus, our spotless lamb, he shed his blood once and for all, because his blood is eternal, once and for all. Matthew, chapter 26, verse 28,. When Jesus was instituting the communion, he made a statement. He said this is my blood of the covenant, this is the blood of the, my blood of the new Testament or of the covenant, which is poured out for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Hebrews, chapter nine, verse 22, says without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Speaker 1:The third point is that there would definitely be vows For us. God's promises are his vows and we have our response. All right, our response. We make a response as well. God made a promise to never leave us or to forsake us. He says I will be your God and you will be my people. We respond by giving him our hearts and our lives. That's how come the Holy Spirit when you say I surrender my life to you, I give my life to Christ, and the Holy Spirit is able to you ask him. He can't just come into you Like the way demons just jump in and do all manner of things. They even trick you. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. You have to invite God in, alright. Hebrews, chapter 8, verse 10. I will be their God and they shall be my people. Romans, chapter 10, verse 9, which is our response. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart, then you shall be saved.
Speaker 1:Next point is that there must be witnesses For us. Our witnesses are the heavens and the earth, the entire world, like all of creation, the heavens and the earth, the entire world. Like all of creation, the whole world, the entire universe, is filled with spirit. When I say heaven and earth, I've often said this that the heaven is a universe, the earth is a universe. Our physical universe is what is called the earth, and then there is a heaven universe as well. Our physical earth universe is a mirror dimension of the heaven universe. The whole universe, heaven universe, earth universe are our witnesses. At the baptism and crucifixion of Jesus, heaven bore witness. The spirit of God descended, the heavens opened and even the earth shook. The next point is the sign Heavens opened and even the earth shook. The next point is the sign.
Speaker 1:There has to be a token or a sign, a physical symbol to remember or to enforce the covenant. For us, the sign or the token is the Holy Spirit. In ancient times covenants were sealed with rings. I mean today we still seal marriage covenants with rings or with tokens, but in this new covenant covenant, god gives us his Holy Spirit as the seal. Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 13, says you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. I love that because it says the Holy Spirit is the earnest of your, of our inheritance, and earnest is like, is a receipt, is a token, it's proof that you have the inheritance, the purchase. So it's proof that you also belong to God, okay, and he belongs to you because the Holy Spirit is in you. So the Holy Spirit is the seal, is the sign, is the token.
Speaker 1:The next is that there must be a meal to celebrate the binding relationship, and the meal know that you've already guessed this one is the Holy Communion. Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper as a covenant meal. Just like in ancient covenants that were celebrated, they also shared bread and wine. Jesus did the same thing, and Jesus said in Luke, chapter 22, verse 19,. He said do this in remembrance of me.
Speaker 1:So every time you want to reenact the covenant, you take the communion. This is very important. Every time and you should do it as often as possible you reenact the covenant. If you're sick, you've prayed for healing, you've made declarations and it seems as if it's a little bit slow Take the communion. You will be healed instantly. This I'm telling you. It's a way of enforcing the covenant. It's like Jesus being killed afresh, do you get? So you just enforce it instantly, because God is obligated, angels are obligated. Everything that God owns is now at your disposal because of this covenant. So just reenact the covenant, all right.
Speaker 1:And then the next point is the document. There must be a document, a written document that details the terms of agreement. What is our document? It is the New Testament. It is the covenant, written, preserved and eternally binding. That's why we say read your Bible. Second Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 6, says that God has made us ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. Glory to God.
Speaker 1:Now, the best part of all of this is that Jesus met all the covenant terms once and for all. You don't need to shed any more blood. If you go to any ministry and you're asking for prayers for a particular challenge that you're having, and they tell you they need to buy a goat or they need to buy a cow, they need to buy chicken and all of that, please run away. Do yourself a favor and run away. Those sacrifices are not being made to God Almighty, they are not being made to El Elyon. They are being made to demons and spirits and half-breeds. I'm telling you they are being made to demons and half-breeds, not to God Almighty. They will tell you it's in the name of God that all these things are, after all, in the Old Testament. We are no longer in the Old Testament. We are now running by a new covenant in different sets of rules.
Speaker 1:This covenant, this present covenant, does not require blood, because the blood has already been shed once and for all. Do not accept it, because it is not of God. You will only end up inviting demons into your house. God has already prescribed the method with which he was he's going to save you, or the method with which he's going to come to you or talk to you or be with you or help you, and it is in the New Testament. There is no more shedding of blood. So please run away.
Speaker 1:People that say they are going to make prayers for you and then you should bring salt and you should bring this. No, this covenant was made in such a way that you have access to God yourself. Now, do you understand? Stand by your covenant and tell God. Stand by the sacrifice of Jesus and tell God. But you said this.
Speaker 1:Or even if you don't remember what the Bible says, say tell God that pastor. He said that this belongs to me, that I can ask you directly and you would answer me. Quotes me, do you get quotes me, because the Holy Spirit will answer you. The Holy Spirit is not some far-fetched being, or God is not some far-fetched being that you know. He's trying to get your respect. He wants to be with you. He wants to be your friend. He wants to. He's your father. He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants to be the closest person to you, ever, ever, ever, ever. So go to him straight. If you don't know the scriptures, do you understand To quote back and tell him say, pastor, he said that you would do this for me. Talk to me, show me, then read your Bible. That's not an excuse for you not to read your Bible. Okay so, but talk to God. Talk to God on your own. Glory to God.
Speaker 1:So, no more sacrifices, no more rituals, just faith and your words. Believe and confess whatever you want to see. Speak it, believe and confess. Just say yes to the covenant. That is already complete.
Speaker 1:So how do you enter into this eternal covenant? I often say it is as simple as A. B, c. A accept that you're a sinner and you need a savior. B believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God, who died and rose again. C confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and give him your life Like a wedding vow.
Speaker 1:Of course, this decision has to be a heart decision, but it's also going to be a public confession. Okay, somebody must hear it. And if it was not a public confession, you have to talk about it. You have to share with someone that you did. All right, the covenant has already been signed in the blood of Jesus. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 14, says For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. One sacrifice he has made you and I perfect forever. Glory to God. So now you know why wait, if you have not done this before step into the most secure, most powerful agreement in the entire universe, which is the covenant with El Elyon, your creator, your redeemer, the eternal father and the creator of the heavens and the earth, the most high God.
Speaker 1:How do you do it? Accept that you're a sinner, believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Many demons or people that are even possessed by demons cannot say Jesus is Lord, so try it. If you can say Jesus is Lord of demons, or people that are even possessed by demons cannot say Jesus is Lord, so try it. If you can say Jesus is Lord, of course, if you're listening to this, you definitely belong to Jesus. If you have someone that you want them to come to God, share this podcast with them so that they would also know.
Speaker 1:Christianity is not a religion. Many people think it's, and it is not even character modification. A lot of people think that when you tell them, come and give your life to Christ, they feel like they are giving more than God is giving to them. They feel like they're getting the shorter end of the stick, but you have to explain to them that no, there's nothing we actually give to God. We just accept the sacrifice that he has made. We are the ones that have all the benefits. I don't even know what God has to benefit, apart from the fact that he has a family now. Glory to God.
