Pst. Esther Obele Season 3 Episode 1

Send us a text

We open Season 3 by exploring how prophetic words, times, and seasons provide light for real decisions and keep you from spiritual drift.

Drawing from 1 Timothy 1:18–19, I share a personal encounter that reshaped how we should hold prophetic words released at the start of a new year.

You’ll learn how to “war a good warfare” by holding faith together with a good conscience—until your faith stops wandering and starts producing results.

SPEAKER_00:

Hello everyone, welcome to season 3 of the DIY Salvation Podcast. We are beginning this season with a teaching series that I have titled Coperception. For further study, you can get my book CoPerception on Amazon. However, if you would like a free PDF version, simply send us an email indicating your interest and we will send it to you. So let me say this plainly: co-perception is the one thing that you must master if you want to live out God's will and God's vision for your life, especially in a new season. I mean, a new year is upon us and it's a new season for some. For others, it might not look like it's a new season, right? But it would unfold. Do you get it would unfold, right? So without co-perception, all your spiritual activity for the year becomes aimless. It's like you're shooting arrows into the air without any target. Although you have the target in mind, you know, you can't just wish on the target, you have to actually aim at the target. So there may be efforts, there may be prayer, there may even be faith, but there will be little or no result if you do not have co-perception. Prayer, praise, worship, and the word of God, these things cannot function in a vacuum. They draw life and they draw direction from having a co-perception with God. Now I'm going to share with you a personal encounter that I had with God while I was studying First Timothy chapter 1 from verse 18 to 19, some years ago, on the 26th of September 2019, the Lord spoke to me very clearly. He said to me, Pay attention to the words of prophecy that were spoken over you at the beginning of the year. Mind you, at the beginning of the year, 31st of December 2018, the prophetic words that were spoken, I was the one who actually spoke them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit because I was the most senior clergy at our church at that time. So I was the one who spoke the words. But here, here, God was telling me you need to pay attention to the words of prophecy that were spoken over you at the beginning of the year. So now you see God's perspective is a little bit different from our own perspective or from my own perspective, because I spoke the prophetic word, but the prophetic word first is supposed to affect me because it's coming from God. God only used me as a vessel, right? But it also affects me as a person. So first and foremost, even if it came out of my mouth, it was still a word that was spoken over me, just as it was spoken to the rest of the church, or over the rest of the church by the Holy Ghost. So the Lord stopped me in my tracks and he said, Listen, it is September now. Like at the time he was speaking to me, it's September now. You need to go back and pay attention to those words. Do not voyage blindly. Hold the prophetic word as a light in a dark place so that you do not make a shipwreck of your faith. And today I'm speaking the same words to you that the prophetic words that you have received at the beginning of this year, do not let them slip out of your hands. Stay with them. For me personally, the key words were rest, ease, and triumph. To stay with those words, I have to repeat them in prayer. I have to mutter them day and night. Even in my sleep, I discovered that I could I could make confessions, you know, while I'm sleeping. So I'm sleeping, but somehow I'm hearing myself say these things, you know. Yeah, so I discovered that I just recently started doing that. If you can, go ahead. Because your confession doesn't have to stop when your body is resting. That's something I just discovered. Anyways, so do not voyage blindly, hold the prophetic word as a light so that your faith does not crash in the storms of life. So every single year since then, that's counting 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025, the Lord has led me each of these years to teach this same truth at the start of the year. And what is the truth? That your prophetic words must be held, okay, not just admired. It's it's not enough to that you just said amen. You received it, yes, but you have to hold it as a light. Now, I've seen a lot of Christians that argue that crossover services are not necessary, and they have a lot of different things that they say concerning these issues, but I want you to bear in mind that on the surface, these things that they say may sound reasonable because, of course, God is eternal and God is not bound by time. However, for us as believers, just as we established in season one, in season two, DIY Salvation Cosmic Edition, right? We said that you are a star. God is a star, you're also a star, you were made and created in his image, you are a star. And the very first time that stars are mentioned in the Bible, God explains their purpose, which is that they are to divide the day from the night, and they are to be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years. This is Genesis chapter 1, verse 14. This tells us something very important that God is eternal, true. But you see, you and I as stars, we are regulated by cycles, we are regulated by times, we are regulated by seasons. In the episode God is a star, we established that God is the sovereign star, he is not, he does not move towards entropy, he's the star that does not move, he's the immovable star. The rest of us we are moving, and we're moving and chasing after his glory. Do you understand? But but God is the one that is immovable, he's the sovereign star. Do you get so for us? Our lives are regulated by times and seasons. This is the reason why God is the unchangeable one, He's He never changes, He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do you understand? There's no entropy in Him, there's no death in Him. So we are regulated by cycles, we are regulated by times, and we are regulated by seasons. Now, understanding what season you are in each time removes fear of the future. If you know the path that God has planned for you, if you can find it out, it actually removes the fear of the future, even when you are in the dark times of your life, because you know already that this is going to pass, this two will pass. Do you get? And then you keep on pushing and all of that. Ecclesiastes chapter 3, verse 1 supports this, and it says, To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. I mean, it reminds us that God has appointed times and seasons for everything. So when we recognize God's timing for our lives, you cannot trust that the future or our future is in his hands. Another verse that complements this will be Proverbs chapter 3 from verse 5 to 6. Now, I don't know why I brought this up, but I believe this is for someone. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not onto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path. So, as I was saying, knowing your season would involve trusting that God is guiding you. Do you get? And when you do, you don't need to fear what lies ahead. Like I've said, God already has set your timetable. You need to just trust him with all of your heart. Anyway, so ideally, when a person understands their season, you are no longer afraid of the future. You can move with clarity, you can move with confidence, even in the night times, like I already said. This is the reason why many people without God they turn to seers, they turn to dark prophets and magicians, astrologers, and so on and so forth. Because they are searching for insight into their times and their seasons. But the Bible tells us that we are not meant to seek direction from darkness. Based on everything that I've said now, you can now understand the reason why the prophetic word for each season or each year is important. They matter. We need direction for each new year, we need clarity for each season, and if possible, we need light for every week ahead. If possible, even every day, because we are regulated by time and we are stewards within time. So prophetic words help us walk wisely through our seasons instead of you know wandering blindly through them. There was a time I used to also think that crossover services were not important and was the use of all these prophetic words, because I mean there are a lot of people who report that yes, we've always been receiving these prophetic words, it's exciting to be you know in a in the service like that, you know, and you receive the prophetic word, but not everybody sees the result of that prophetic word in their lives. So I used to also think that way as well, you know, until I noticed something. When I started pastoring, I noticed that God himself ensures that there is a prophetic word to cover every new year. He does it on purpose. At least I've in my ministry I have seen him do it. Imagine me who in the past I didn't really give much thought to crossover service. I mean, I knew that God loves me. I was young and naive, so I didn't really give much thought to those words that are coming from the pulpit. I rejoiced in them, I received them even, but the rest of the year, by March, I probably don't remember the theme for the year. When I started pastoring, God now took time, right, to make sure that there was a prophetic word to cover each new year. By September of each year, right? As early as September, do you know that the word for the next year would have already come to me and I would have started meditating on it by the end of the year? I already, my heart is full of the word to be able to deliver it, you know, on the 31st night. Do you see? So for something that God Himself ensures, you know, you have to understand that anything that God consistently gives attention to, it matters deeply to him. And anything that matters deeply to him has to do with, you know, building his church, making us better people, or making us come to the full stature of Christ, making us to grow in maturity. So it is important to God. And if it is important to God, it ought to be important to you as well. Because in this crossover services, prophetic directions are released. These things are coming directly from God. It is important, but you words are weighty and some people just treat them anyhow, and they wonder why their year did not go as planned. When you treated the prophetic word, you know, carelessly. So this is not just a tradition by the Nigerian church. I don't know if other countries do the same thing, right? It is a move of the spirit. This is what I've come to know. It is a move of the spirit. And until God changes the way he does it, for now, this is how he chooses to do it, and our responsibility, therefore, is to respond correctly. Therefore, the question is not whether we should be holding crossover services. Of course, we should, you know, even without holding services, aren't people all over the world keeping watch until the new year? Are they not keeping watch until the new year? Even without it, whether they're keeping watch in the nightclubs or they're keeping watch outside with fireworks and so on and so forth, everybody is keeping watch. What better way as a believer for you to keep watch into the new year than to spend it in the presence of God? So now that we believe that this is a move of God, what should be our response to the prophetic word that is given every crossover service? In 1 Timothy chapter 1 from verse 18 to 19, Paul answers this clearly. He says, This charge I commit unto you according to the prophecies which went before on you, that you by them might war a good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience, which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck. So we see here that Paul reminds Timothy that the prophetic words were given for a reason. What is that reason? The reason is so that with the prophetic word we might wore a good warfare. Now you can see that God is a good father. What father will see his son traveling for a long journey, probably will not be able to see him in an entire year, and would not give him words to go with him. You will pray with him, and then you will talk to him, you would advise him, you know, avoid bad friends. Do like this, you know. When you face this, this is what you're going to do, so that you'll be able to, and don't worry, make sure you call me. I'll be able to reach. If you can't reach me, make sure you send me a text message. That is the duty of a good father. Do you understand? So the Lord knows that you're venturing into a new year or a new season blindly. He knows that you can't see because you're in a three-dimensional realm. And then as a good father, he comes to you and he says, You know what? I'm going to give you words to go with. A more sure word of prophecy. That's the way Paul puts it. A more sure word of prophecy. I will give you words to go with you. And let me tell you, when God gives you words or a prophetic word, you must know that it is already accomplished. That you're worrying a good warfare. That's why it's a good warfare because you're going to win eventually, right? That you're warring a good warfare, you know, does not mean that it is not already accomplished. In God's eyes, in the state where everything is, it is already accomplished. But what God wants you to do is your participation to be able to bring it to your reality. Do you get? You have to bring it to this three-dimensional reality, and that's what the whole idea of the prophetic word is. So, how do we war a good warfare with the prophetic word? You do it by holding faith and a good conscience together. You hold faith in one hand and a good conscience in the other hand. Imagine you are a soldier and your goal is to remove an obstacle this year, and the the obstacle is let's say delay. And the prophetic word comes to you that says triumph. For you to war a good warfare, you will hold faith in one hand. What is faith? Faith is activated by words. So it's essentially your faith in that word. The word of God came prophetically as triumph, right? In your mouth, when you speak it, triumph, it becomes faith. Do you say it? The word of God is a two-edges sword. One God speaks it, the other edge of the sword is that you repeat what you have heard God say. When you repeat it with faith, with belief in your heart, now that is faith. Do you understand? So when God says it's a prophetic word, when you say it, it is faith. So you take with you words, triumph in one hand. Now add to that word a good conscience in the other hand. So what Paul is saying is this faith alone is not enough. You've heard the word, you said amen. You believed it. You believed it because probably the man of God had, you know, healed you before, prayed for you before, and you has healed you. You have seen miracles happen from the man of God praying over you. So you believe, but you hold faith in one hand, and he says the next one you have to have to add to faith a good conscience. Remember, this word is something I've been preaching every single year since 2020. I've been preaching the same word, and God has not changed it. At the beginning of the year, he always urges me to preach this exact same message. Although it will seem different because of this, I mean, the cycle of life is different, right? And the space I'm in is also different. And so he may add additional information as well. But all these years I've been preaching the same thing, and the reason is this God knows that this message is important for you to be able to hold it the entire year, for you to be able to win the entire year. This is the information that you need. Faith alone is not enough. That is why many people believers would pray, they would confess, they will act in, even act in faith, act out to a miracle and all of that. Yet sometimes it looks as if it's not changing. Because your faith must be held together with a good conscience for it to produce results. Why is it then important to hold both faith and a good conscience? Because the Bible tells us that the the many people who failed to do this eventually made a shipwreck of their faith. They had prophetic words, yet they failed to first translate that word of prophecy into a statement of faith, that's one. And secondly, they did not have a good conscience, therefore, they now traveled blindly through the air and they crashed against the waves of the storms of life. That means that their faith did not produce any results. So, what then is a good conscience? You already understand faith. I want to believe that you already understand faith. The Greek word translated conscience in the New Testament is the word synadesis, and it literally means co-perception. That's the first word you see. It's co-perception, and co-perception means to know together. Right now, you're listening to me, you do not have co-perception with me because you're not seeing what I'm looking at. You don't know where I'm sitting, you don't know where I am, you know, you don't have any co-perception with me. You don't know where I'm facing, whether it's to the north, to the east, to the west, or the south. So co-perception means to know together. If you have co-perception with me, it means we're seeing the same thing, we know the same thing. Now, in the Bible, when you see the word conscience, there are other words that are translated as conscience, which is co-perception and consciousness. Now, these three words, conscience, co-perception, and consciousness, they are three layers of the same inner spiritual reality or inner spiritual faculty. So sometimes they can be used interchangeably. Even I could use it sometimes interchangeably. But let me just tell you the difference between them. The conscience is the voice of your spirit, you know, your three parts spirit, soul, and body. The spirit is the real you. Your soul consists of your mind, your will, your intellect, your emotions. Now, the conscience is the inner witness, is the voice of your spirit. Right now, you're listening to my voice, and this voice is coming from my body. Okay? But the conscience is the voice of the spirit, is the voice that hears that you hear, only you you hear, that advises you most of the time. Right? That's your conscience, is the voice of your spirit. The conscience is also what the Bible calls the inner witness. Do you understand? The spirit is the inward man, of course. The voice of the spirit is the inner witness. So co-perception is seen as God sees. If you have co-perception with God, that means you have a good conscience, then you are seen as God is seen. You are holding God's perspective only instead of yours. You're not even see co-perception, you're not mixing your perspective with God's perspective. You're not putting it together and you know take some of God's and then you take your own.

No.

SPEAKER_00:

Co-perception means that you have jettisoned your own, you have abandoned your own perspective, and now you are seeing how God sees, and that's it. That's it. Now, good conscience means that you have co-perception with God. Evil conscience means you have what? Co-perception with the sin nature, with Satan, with anything that is not of God, even with your mind, yourself. That's an evil conscience. You know, sometimes your intellect is the your major problem, okay, because you try to rationalize so much until you you rationalize the Holy Spirit out of your life completely. Now, consciousness is the settled awareness that is formed by what you repeatedly agree with. If I tell you that you are one with God, you agree with me first mentally, like yeah, because I'm able to teach you and show you through scriptures that you are one with God. Over time, you start to ruminate, think about these things, you know, you begin to say it, you begin to see it. One day you become conscious of it that you are one with God. The way it drastically changes your prayers, everything just begins to align because now you know, even your walk is different. The way you relate with people is different because you now know that you are one with God, you're no longer afraid of bad dreams, you know that you are seated with Christ in heavenly places, you are one with God. Do you understand? So, consciousness is the settled awareness that is formed by what you repeatedly agree with. Now, here is the connection, and it is very deep, and I want you to listen very carefully. When co-perception with God shapes your conscience, the voice of the spirit, it will produce in you a Christ consciousness. A Christ-centered consciousness or a Christ consciousness, and your faith will undoubtedly produce results effortlessly. That's the connection. But when co-perception is lost, your faith may remain, but it becomes unstable and unproductive. That is how shipwreck happens. Now I want you to take a moment to reflect on last year. How was it for you? Were there things you looked forward to achieving, but you didn't? Were there things that you believed for? Were there things you prayed about, things you fasted over, but you never saw manifest? If your faith did not produce results, the issue may not have been the faith, your faith itself. Because, like I said, you could maybe your man of God is someone who is very powerful, you know, and you've seen lots of miracles happen, and yet yours did not come. So that means it may not be your faith because you know that you believe, right? But let me tell you, it may have been a lack of co-perception or a lack of mastery of co-perception or a mastery of a good conscience. Some of you you waver like the water. Today you believe. The next minute your mind has started, you start to, you know, rationalize back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Before you know what's happening, the thing that you once held on to has slipped out of your hands. You know, so it's possible that you did not hold faith together with a good conscience. Because faith by necessity must operate alongside a good conscience for it to always produce results. And I've told you that a good conscience, in simple terms, is seeing what God sees, holding that picture and never letting it go. When God speaks a prophetic word, he is showing you something that he already sees as done. So your job now is to carry that perspective until what God sees becomes what you see and you hold it in your hands. In essence, what is a good conscience? A good conscience is about seeing the pictures of God and retaining those pictures in your memory. If you lose that picture, your faith will lose direction. I pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus. I pray in the name of Jesus that your faith will never lose direction in this new year. I pray for you that your year will be different, that this year your faith will produce results, and you will walk worthy of your calling in this new season. That this new year you will walk in ease, in rest, and in triumph in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
