Crime Scenes with Coffee Beans
True Aussie Murders. Caffeinated.
Join your host, Belinda Brady, as she takes a deep dive into some of the most gruesome, brutal, and unbelievable Australian murders over a cup of coffee...or two. Some murders are well known and are etched into Australia’s crime history, others not so much, but each as brutal and real as they come. Coffee not mandatory to listen to this fortnightly true crime podcast, but it certainly helps!

Crime Scenes with Coffee Beans
They're Gone - The Wanda Beach Murders
It's a hot summer's day on the 11th January, 1965 and 15 year old best friends Marianne Schmidt and Christine Sharrock have made their way to Wanda Beach with Mariann'e siblings to cool off with a swim. After lunch, the girls leave the children on the beach while they go back to collect their bags, and they are not seen again until their bodies are found the next day, hidden in the sand dunes. Both girls had been brutally murdered and sexually assaulted.
The girls' murders capture the country's attention and the hunt is on to find their killer, with police leaving no stone unturned.
Join Belinda over a cup of joe or two as she discusses this tragic murder, one broke our hearts and one that is, sadly, cemented in Australian true crime history.
*** TRIGGER WARNING ***
This episode discusses the murder and sexual assault of teenage girls. Listener discretion is advised.
