Last night was magical. It was the best Grammys that we've had in a while. I feel like it was spooky how good it was because the rest of this year has not been this good. I'm like, why is the Grammys this good? Is it about to be really bad? Did you see that SpongeBob thing? Yeah. You saw the SpongeBob meme and now that's what you're saying. Yeah, exactly. But I made it into my own words. So it's as if it was my own thought. Yeah. I'm like, ah, this is looking a little bit suspicious. It was very good. It was amazing. Do we want to dig into it? Perhaps. I think we should. Let's dig into the Grammys. Grab a seat. Okay. Oh my. Fuck. Where to start? think we should start off the episode very strong with Album of the Year. Yeah, let's go backwards. Oh, 100%. Yeah, that's what everyone's waiting for. Everyone's gonna wait for the album of the year. Yeah. That's what we were waiting for. Yeah. When we watched the Grammys, it was supposed to be from five to eight and they went over like an hour and a half as they always fucking do What were your original thoughts for album of the year? My original thoughts for album of the year? I will say my album of the year, like my album of the year. Was it wasn't nominated so Deep Well, Casey Musgraves, or Billie Eilish. And I really thought that Billie would have taken it. I really did think Billie would have taken it. I think Billie thought Billie would take it. No, I don't know. There was a, the category was like full of incredible albums. And then the tortured poets department. Uh, And the men and the two random straight people. And I was like only people in this category that I'm actually caring about are the women. And there's four. It was Charlie. It was Billy. It was Beyonce. It was Sabrina. Sabrina. And then Taylor. I don't care about Taylor. Oh, and Chapel. Yeah, I didn't think Chapel was going to win album of the year. Brat really could have won. Yeah. For it's cultural impact. However, as a cohesive body of work it had to be Miss Carter. There was no question about it. My thoughts were like, I was I, I knew that Beyoncé should win, but I thought Brat was going to win. Just because of the Grammy's track record? yeah. Oh, and probably two years ago, when Harry Styles won for that fucking house album. What was it called? Harry's House? Motherfucking Harry's motherfucking house. Two years ago, Harry Styles won album of the year and he got on stage and was like, this never happens to people like me. When in actual fact little white boys plucked out of obscurity by Simon Cowell tend to win a lot in life. Correct. and Beyonce deserved to win album the year for Renaissance and Lemonade. A hundred percent. she definitely should have won for Lemonade. I'm less mad about Adele winning Over Lemonade than I was about Harry. Was that the, it was that the Yeah, it was Adele and she was like, Beyonce deserves this award. Yeah, a hundred percent. And Harry said, I deserve this award. Fuck you Also, where is Harry Staz now? Where is he now? Hello? Album of the year. Goblet of Carter was, it's a beautiful piece of work. I wanted. Personally, because truly the album that I gravitate more towards to listen to every single day pretty much is Hit Me Hard and Soft. Yeah. Cause I love Bilalash. Bilalash. I love Bilalash. I love that eyelash. but absolutely Beyonce deserves it. She said, and I quote, people don't put out albums anymore. They just make songs and they just put out a quick record just to make a quick buck. Okay, maybe I shouldn't have quoted because it's not exactly accurate. Paraphrase. But then she was like, no one puts out like a body of work anymore and Beyonce consistently is giving us bodies. She's giving us body after body of like work. And body. And body. Because from the start of the album to the end of the album, it is a cohesive story. And she plays homage to. country artists of yonder yeah she gives a platform to upcoming artists yeah it's incredible i think that's so cool yeah yeah it's incredible it's just like the theory that she's taking back music that black people created and white people took over is just not a theory but that's what she is doing with renaissance with house music and then this with country music and then the next one which is going to be a rock album if the theory holds true that'd be crazy i just think it's incredible it's like It's more than music. She is the music industry. She is the person that creates everything that we do. Sorry, Have you seen how mad people are? Yeah, I know people are so mad. Like the country people? Especially for country albums. Especially for country albums. Because she won country album, which I wish. for Country Album of the Year. Like, I love Casey with all of my heart, and that was the one I wanted deeper well to win. Yeah. I mean, Even Beyonce was shocked. Yeah. I'm very happy that Beyonce won both. I wish that Casey did win Country album. but I know why Beyonce won. But there are so many country fans that are like, this isn't even a country album. Oh shut up. I'm like shut up, yes it is. She is a genre defining, defining? She's a genre bending artist. Genre bending, yeah. Genre bending. She's doing everything. We're bending genres. We are creating trends. We are like, we are the music industry. That's what I would say if I was Beyoncé. Also her platinum blonde hair. Live. And I'm like, oh my god, okay, so what am I going to wear for the cabal choir? He was actually, he was like one of the highlights of the entire evening. He was so tall, he was a good 6'5 and his cowboy hat on top. What I will say about this is that I love that he is an award winner for being such a fucking hater. I love that. I eat that up. That is true. You wrote a song about being a hateful little bitch. Yeah, for me, a hundred percent. Dochi's performance was incredible. It was more than incredible change. The outfit. OK, the outfit she wore was the best outfit worn to the Grammys this year. though, like blazer with the cinched waist and in the pants, Tom Brown came and he said, I'm going to eat these bitches up. Period. And the face tape. Yeah, I know. And it wasn't, I think the face tape was like bedazzled question mark. I think it had little bedazzled around the edges of it. Was it sparkly? Wasn't it? It was so good. And then she took that off and then she was wearing just like, Nothing. She didn't take it off. It was ripped from her. Yeah. Yeah. And the wait, the production, the choreo the outfits the, just like the fucking treadmill thing that was on. So cool. Oh my God. It was sick. The choreo felt like it was so good. The choreo felt like, there was so many body parts moving around in such a fun way. I was like, this looks like an organism. This looks like an organism made of 20 humans. Just like I'm glad that everyone that I wanted to win an award, apart from Ray Won an award. I don't know if Ray was like, the most relevant in the past year. she already won six Brit Awards last year. She took home what was needed in that one work show. In the UK, yeah. I don't know if she It's also been so long since then and she hasn't like really released like a lot of music since. Yeah, she released like that one Genesis Part 2, I think. but like look at chapel. I might come on. Yeah. The impact is way more. I want to pivot for a second. We can't talk about the Grammys without talking about. The host. I feel like Trevor Noah did a good job last year. I feel like he was like fine. I feel like he's been doing it every year. Why does it feel like he's been doing it since the beginning of time? Did he do it the year before too? I feel like Trevor Noah is like a very he was a safe option for the Grammys, again, to have a host like that. Nikki Glaser. Put her in there. Nikki Glaser hosted the Golden Globes and I don't think I've Ever experienced an award show like that, like I've not even seen the award show, I've only seen her best bits because she is, she was that award show. Put her the fuck in there, she's so funny. And like nobody, there was like no laughs, there was no like anything in the Grammys last night. Is the Grammys, is it because more people watch the Grammys than the Golden Globes? No, No, the Recording Academy is completely different, it's like way more like strict. The Academy is like the Oscars and like the, and the Grammys. It would have been so much more funny if she like, because they don't poke fun at the celebrities there. Cuz was there an award show that didn't happen that was gonna they push the Oscars back it was, I think it's just like the proximity that to the fires but they did a lot of tributes. Like the Billy performance was a tribute. Okay. Because they had the, oh, I missed that. And it was like pictures placed exactly of people who took pictures at that lookout exactly where it is on the screen. So it like lined up and I was like, that was a great tribute. Well, Especially for just like prioritizing white eyes. Yeah, the CEO gave a speech. Yeah, we're so sorry about being really shitty. Here's the weekend. I didn't love that. Here's the weekend. Dissect them. It's a no fucking brainer that Beyoncé is well past due her flowers. Totally. The Weeknd, however I like That was a weird performance. I like, I've liked some of his music. I agree. And I just feel like he what? Huh? What was he doing? I feel like all of his performances are the same. I didn't see him. No, because he's always drowning in a mountain of clothes.
