Hey, hey, beautiful souls! In this special Black History Month episode of *Thriving Through Chaos: Living Intentionally & Resiliently*, we’re diving deep into the roots of Black psychology, the impact of racial trauma, and the power of ancestral healing.
Join me as we honor Dr. Francis Cecil Sumner, the first Black psychologist in America, and explore how his groundbreaking work paved the way for understanding the mental health struggles and resilience of Black communities. We’ll unpack racial trauma, its symptoms, and how it affects us generationally, while also highlighting the ways our ancestors have always found healing—through faith, music, storytelling, and community.
But it doesn’t stop there—science is finally catching up to what our ancestors already knew. We’ll discuss epigenetics and how trauma (and healing!) can be passed down through generations, as well as modern ways we can reclaim our mental well-being through therapy, spirituality, and self-care.
This episode is a call to action—to break cycles, to heal, and to thrive. What generational patterns are you working to shift? Let’s talk about it. Send me your reflections through the fan mail link below, and let’s keep this conversation going.
If this episode resonates with you, share it with someone who needs it. Healing is a collective journey, and we’re in this together.
Stay grounded. Stay thriving. And as always—take care of yourself first.
