We're opening a powerful five-part series that takes us to the very heart of the cross — and we're starting with a question that many find uncomfortable, even offensive: Why blood? Why was the shedding of blood necessary for the forgiveness of sins? Couldn't an all-powerful God simply declare us forgiven and move on?
