Imagine treating your own need for sensory withdrawal with the same biological respect you'd give a tired, tunneling puppy. It shifts the entire paradigm from punishment to recovery.

Shaking it off — the vagus-nerve toolkit

Acknowledging the need to rest raises a practical hurdle: when you're trapped in that dorsal vagal freeze, your mind is racing.
