Well, it's time for John and Joe again. Hello everyone. You haven't heard from us for a few months because we've had a lot of action going on, which we'll tell you about if we're gonna have a three part podcast today, we've got something new. We've got guest yes guest visitors. First off, first time. First time we've had guests, but first off, today is Joe's birthday March. Eighth, eighth, 19. 29. 29. Joe is 97 years old today. Still kicking, still wild as ever, and still able to drive. Well tell you about that. She got her driver's license renewed couple weeks ago, and we thought she had a. Little vision problem, Joe. Tell her what happened. Well, um, the girl said to me, look in this machine and read line a well. I looked in and saw the first letter or first number. I tried to adjust my glasses and I said, I can't see the rest. And I thought, oh my goodness, I'm not gonna pass. She said, oh, that machine's not working right. Come on over and use this one. And I went, where? Where she told me to go and I read the top line, just like. Anything. So I passed. And your license is good until when now? 2034. 2034. Joe will still be legal driving, uh, on the highway. So look out, look out, look out, look out. Um, what else has happened? Well, you know, Joe had pneumonia a couple times and she's had a hidal hernia, which she's been. Fighting with, but uh, something else happened to John. Yes, it did. Valentine's Day night. John told Joe, I think you need to take me to emergency. I don't feel right. And um, a couple days before that I had kind of feel lightheaded and uh, faint and uh, didn't know what it was, but it went away. You know, like most of us men, we just brush things off 'cause we're pretty macho. Uh, and I think he's been doing that for some time. Well, yeah. Well I've had to make it or make it. So anyway, went to the hospital, went to emergency, had to get a wheelchair to get myself in from the car to the, uh, emergency. They did EKGs on me and uh, you know, first off they usually tell me I've got a body of a Greek God. But this time. That failed. And, uh, I ended up, uh, in ICU had to call a nurse in, this is like 11 o'clock at night and they said, I think you need a pacemaker. So Joe said, well, I'm gonna stay here with you, but I've gotta get some clothes. A friend of ours, neighbor took Joe home, got clothes, came back. So I was in there, what, Joe? Four days, four days. Four days. Now I've never been in a hospital before and I'm not used to, uh, hospital stuff, you know, like, uh, getting naked and then putting, not get gown on you. I didn't like that at all. I didn't like getting wiped down. Didn't like that at all. I didn't like getting moved around the sheets. Didn't like that at all. And most of all, what I didn't like was getting a cardiac cath and they said four things. You got blockage. You got blockage. We can clear we're gonna put a stent in or you get an ambulance and we drive you to Gainesville. Where to Brazelton, hospital Gainesville, and get a bypass. So luckily I had no blockage. Right, Joe? That's right. Thank God. And they said, okay, tomorrow you're getting a pacemaker. So next day went down. Uh, I told the people in the, uh, operating room there, I didn't like the music they were playing. Next thing I know, I was knocked out and I had a pacemaker installed. So here I am. I got out a couple days later. Now you gotta wait till the end of this podcast because, uh. There's a startling event that we're going, uh, to tell you about reference to my pacemaker. But anyway, what else have we been doing? Uh, we've been celebrating my birthday. Seems like Joe's birthday's been gone forever. We've had, uh, friends come over and, and I'm so visit and I'm so glad that our visitors, Bob and Jenny. Yeah. Bob and Jenny are son and his wife. Wife, Jenny, who is the, the smart one of the two Joe's birthday. And also to follow up on my pacemaker business. You know, like, what'd they do? Did you do this right? How's your incision? And Jenny is the girl who knows, knows it all, all of it, knows it all. I did go back, uh, last week to get my pacemaker adjusted, and that itself is an interesting thing. Any of you who've had pacemakers know this, but I have a Abbott MRI pacemaker, so I can get an MRI if I need it. Hopefully I don't need it. But anyway, that's right. Um, it's almost time to have our, uh, our guest. We have two guests, so one of our guests is gonna be coming and I don't know what she's doing right now, but she's gonna have to come over here. Uh, we're gonna have, this is our lovely, uh, daughter-in-law, Jenny, who sit here and Jenny is going to, uh, Jenny's. Jenny's doesn't have Mike fright. Jenny just doesn't know what to do, being on a podcast. All she's done is seen podcast on tv. So, Jenny, you gotta talk into the microphone, you know, like a couple inches away. And, uh, and you can talk Jenny. Hi. I'm Jenny, I'm the daughter-in-law, and we've been so blessed to be here to check up on John and to celebrate Joe's 97th birthday. Yes, it is. Been a party ever since they got here. So, so, uh, Jenny and Bob have, uh, a daughter, which is our granddaughter, whose name is Maya, who also shares Joe's birthday. She is 21 today. Happy birthday, Maya. Happy birthday, Maya. Yes. So anyway, Jenny, now you can talk more than that. What else you gonna tell us? Well, we love you both and we're so glad we're here with you. And thank you for sharing stories. You're, you know, we just love you both so much. Anti oaks, we have a lot of stories. So anyway. Bob and Jenny have a dog named Ben. And Ben did not accompany them. So Ben's a sweet golden retriever. So now we've got another, uh, guest. Bob, are you gonna talk on our podcast? Jenny? Are you, are you, uh, but I'm so lucky that. My friends who are listening to this podcast, uh, I'm their first guest. Yes, you are. Guest number one. Guest number one. Now we're gonna have guest number two come up and, uh, our son Bob and Bob. Bob, I don't think, has never been on a podcast, have you Bob? Now Bob, you gotta get your head right. You know? Right. You got it. Okay. Okay, Bob, go for it. Hi, dad. No, I have never been on a podcast before. So this is its first podcast and, uh, uh, interesting that, uh, they would be here and be our first guest, which we're happy about. So, yeah, I'm excited to be the one of the first guests, second guest, I guess second guest. And, and Bob and Jenny while they were here, they did some shopping and their problem now is how to get this new merchandise. Into their suitcases to get back to Chicago. I think they're wearing layers. I think Bob has a couple of pair of pants on Jenny's got shovel sweaters on, uh, shoes, you know, all the stuff that you buy. And purses. And purses, all that, all that good stuff. So, well, so Dad, what? I just wanted to say that Jenny and I are big fans of your podcast. Oh, thank you. You, uh, you and Joe. And, uh, big fans of the podcast and big fans of YouTube as as people. Thank you. Um, yeah, it's so exciting to come to Atlanta and see you guys. I'm glad this worked out. I, uh, try to spread the word about your podcast, everyone I see. And. Um, they're amazed when they hear that you guys are, um, as, um, mature as you are, a couple of old people doing this, right? That's right. And it's very impressive. I think it's, that's a great example for other aging adults and, uh, all the things that you can do and, um, there's no reason to not try new things. Exactly. You were 90 years old when you started this. Yes, we were. Yep. So that's really great. Wow. And Jenny and I love you guys very much. Happy birthday, Joe. Happy birthday, Maya. Or also known, sorry. Happy birthday Maya. Yep. Did you have a story to tell here at the end, Dan? I do, but let's see if I do have a story to tell. But let's get Joe back on here. Thank you, Bob. Thank you Jenny, for being our, our first podcast people. Now Joe's gonna put the headphones on and, uh, so see if she's got any, Joe always has words of wisdom to give us. In fact, on her Facebook page, I think her, uh, saying is, uh. Lady with much wisdom or something to that effect. Is that right? Well, I hope I have wisdom. Yes you do. And uh, I'm just grateful that we're able to be together. Amen. Yes. Well, we, we said are we about done? Are we about done? We're about done. 'cause Jenny and Bob have to go catch an airplane. Alright. But here we do. Our guests wanna say anything else? No, they don't. Okay, we just cut 'em off. They're done. Oh, I have to tell you, Jenny, uh, had some wonderful breakfast, breakfast, lunch today, or brunch. She had kale soup, kale and bean. And it was made by she. Yep. Our French, she, so, um, fresh out of the freezer. Okay. I promised you something at the end of this, uh, podcast, and here it comes. Uh, I have said I've never been in a hospital before, thank God. And, uh, I lost all signs of, uh, what's the word I want? Modesty. Modesty. Is that the word I want to use? I think so. When they, uh, put an orange, uh, gown, it made me look like a McDonald's clown. But we got home and one of the things I had at the hospital, I have, uh, osteoarthritis in my knees and one of my legs. I just couldn't put any pressure on. And also what? Oh, how about your arm? Oh yes, my arm. They said, you know, you can't lift your arm up six weeks. You've gotta not do that. So I said, okay. So we get home and, uh, find, we have a leak in, uh, our water heater. It's not our water heater, but it's a neighbor's water heater. Since we're, uh, all of our water heaters are kind of joined together in a condominium area. So friends came over and they cleaned that up for us and I got inside and getting ready to go to bed and of course you have to go to the bathroom and uh, I sat down on the toilet, couldn't get up, couldn't stand up. My leg wouldn't work. And we do have raised toilets. Yeah, but not raised enough. I think they're called comfort. Toilet comfort, comfort height. I couldn't put pressure on my arm, so that was a problem. So, um. I said, well, what do we do? And we said, call Gary the youngest. The youngest male in the community. Exactly. Gary's up for all things. So Gary came over after several attempts. Bingo. I was off the toilet came in order on Amazon. A riser for the toilet just for you folks know you can get 'em ordered a shower. Uh. With a large head and a large head and a detachable spray. So here we are. Not only that, John, what Now? The toilet's very high. Oh, that presents a problem for Joe. Joe, and I'm very sure. Yes. So Joe's feet dangle. However, we, we corrected that, didn't we? Yes, we did. And we bought our little footstool. So, so do, uh, it's like a squatty potty. Yeah. Everybody. Okay. I think we're about done with this, uh, event. We thank you for listening. Yes. We do appreciate you. And also we have supposedly almost 600 listeners in half a dozen countries. You know, it's amazing, uh, how this thing works, and we love you all. Uh. Keep listening for our next one, Joe. Yes, indeed. That's it. Well, bye.
