In this deeply personal episode of In Shock, Teresa shares the story of her first cancer diagnosis—a shocking diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the lip.
What began as a tiny spot on her lip turned into a seven-hour Mohs surgery, removing layers of cancerous and precancerous tissue while she remained awake the entire time. Teresa walks listeners through the fear, trauma, and emotional toll of receiving a cancer diagnosis in the middle of a difficult divorce and what it’s like to hear the words “you have cancer” when you least expect it.
She also shares how this diagnosis led to:
