So this is actually like an impromptu episode and this wasn't planned. The Lord dropped this in my spirit a couple of days ago and I'm like, okay, I need to sit down and record what he's downloaded into my spirit so that I can share it with you. So, girl, here we are. Okay, welcome to today's episode of Beauty Businesses for Christ podcast. I'm your host, whitney, so let's get into it. Today, I just feel the Lord just leading me to talk about preparation and how it's really important that we are prepared to receive what he's going to give us and how we are needing to prepare for when he comes back. So I feel like a lot of us are in a space where we tend to think too much about the natural things that's going on within our businesses instead of really focusing in on the spiritual aspect of things. So when you're focused on things like money and making profit in your business and wondering why you don't have clients and just the day-to-day things that you're not even supposed to be worried about, you're focusing too much on the natural, on the worldly things, when you need to be more focused on our eternal life with the Lord, right? So I remember I was reading in the book of Matthew, the parable about the 10 virgins, the 10 bridesmaids Right. The 10 virgins, the 10 bridesmaids right. And I remember the Lord speaking to me about this last year, about how it's key to be prepared because we do not know the hour or the day when he's coming back. But I know when the Lord first brought me to this parable, I definitely felt heavy conviction about this and I was like, wow, I'm literally just been twiddling my thumbs and just been focusing on things that don't even matter, when I really need to be, you know, in tune with the spiritual sense of things and I need to be focused on the eternal aspect of when he does come back. So, girl, you know we're going to bring scripture into this. Okay, so I'm going to be reading from the NKJV version. This is the women's study Bible and this is Matthew, chapter 25, and is verses one through 13.
Whitney:So this is the parable. This in this Bible called it the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. So I'm going to do a summary of it, but I am going to pull some exact scripture lines from this particular parable. So, pretty much this is about 10 bridesmaids preparing for the bride groom to come. So five of them were wise, five of them were foolish. The wise ones had the oil prepared and ready for when the groom was coming. The other five did not have the oil prepared, right? So I'm going to go into verse three, where it says those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps Verse five. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
Whitney:Verse six and at midnight a cry was heard behold, the bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise answer is saying no, lest there should not be enough for us and you, but go rather to those who sell and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding and the door was shut. So this is important.
Whitney:The five wise bridesmaids they were ready, you know they. They went to sleep, but they were already prepared. They had the oil ready for when the bridegroom was coming back. They didn't know when he was coming. They knew he was coming, but they didn't know. But they were prepared and ready. The other five weren't ready.
Whitney:So I'm going to go into verse 11 all the way down to verse 13, and it says afterward the other virgins came also saying lord, lord, open to us. But he answered and said assuredly I say to you, I do not know. You watch. Therefore, you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man is coming. So imagine that. Imagine you were just sitting around not doing nothing and the Lord comes and you go to him. Lord, lord, I'm here. I'm here for you and he's not going to let you in because you weren't ready for him. That is not a good place to be in and he does not want his children to be in a place like that.
Whitney:This is an important lesson about. We need to continuously be preparing for his kingdom. We need to be building, we need to be encouraging, we need to be out here helping each other. We need to be ready for when he comes, so that when he is here, we can go and rejoice with him. But you can't do that if you're not doing the things that he's calling and leading you to do, but you're ignoring the messages, you're missing the messages you know. You're just thinking, oh you still have time, when you don't know the time when he's coming. So it's important, as we are running these kingdom businesses that he has gifted us, it's important that every day, we are focusing on how can I build for him for eternity. Let's not focus on the natural in the world and getting money and making profit and doing things that's not even going to satisfy you, that's not even going to last. We need to focus on things that is lasting. We need to focus on things that is going to build for his kingdom. That's what it's about and he is telling you. He is urging his daughters in Christ. He's urging all the kingdom builders, all the kingdom businesses out here. He's urging us to be prepared.
Whitney:And, girl, you know what's going on in the world right now. There's so much going on in the world right now. There's so much going on in the world. I swear one side of the coast of the states is with a whole bunch of snow. It's snowing in unknown places. It's in all this stuff happening. The other side is up in flames and it shows you, especially the fires going on in California. Anything can happen. You can have something here one day and gone just like that, so unexpectedly. You just never know. So it's important to understand that when it comes to Jesus and when he's coming back, it's going to be unexpected, but it's our job as his servants, as his daughters, to be prepared when he does come back, because he's going to take account of everything that we do while we're here. So it's important to be prepared for him, it's important to be obedient to him, it's important to just continuously be working and building for his kingdom, be working and building for his kingdom.
Whitney:So this message I just felt the Lord just wanted me to share with you, because I feel like some of us aren't doing what we're supposed to and, girl, I'm one of them. Okay, I'm not out here throwing stones. Okay, like this message speaks to me just as much as I'm hoping it speaks to you, and just especially, seeing what's going on in the world, we can't take things lightly. We truly can't. You know, we cannot continue to. I feel the Lord saying.
Whitney:We can't continue to tie our identity into our businesses. We have to remember that our identity is in Christ. Right, we identify in Christ, we are made in his image. We can't hold on to things of this world that is not lasting, that's not going to be here anymore. We need to focus on him, we need to focus on eternity and we need to focus on sharing the gospel with others, because our businesses, they're part of him, they're part of God. Our businesses that we have is something that he created and birthed through us and through us. We are here to be speaking about him in these businesses, to be ministering to others, to be encouraging to others. You know that's what we're supposed to be doing. We're supposed to be portraying the image of God, because there's a lot of people who don't know who Jesus is, and the only way they'll know who Jesus is is because of how you are out here in the business that he's gifted you with portraying him in every way. That's how they're going to know who Jesus is. So that's why it's important that we prepare daily for his returning kingdom.
Whitney:Okay, girls, I hope this message brought you some encouragement. I hope it uplifted you. I hope it got you ready to get prepared and do what you got to do. You know, you know what God is calling you to do. You know, you know. So I'm hoping this is giving you the push to go ahead and do it and not to, you know, wait around anymore.
Whitney:We can't wait around anymore. Like the time is coming where he is coming back and we're just seeing some of the signs of it now, and it's just important that we stay right now. It's so important that we stay rooted in our Bibles, we stay rooted in prayer and we continue to just talk about him and share about him so that other people can know who he is before he does come back. So, stay encouraged, girl, persevere, keep going, keep building. Know that Jesus loves you.
Whitney:Know that you are not building this alone, right? That's why I feel like the Lord led me to even start this ministry so that we can have a community to keep building together. You're not in this alone. The Lord's with you, I'm with you. Your other sisters in Christ are with you. We are in this together. We are building together, right? We're part of his church and we have to keep building and keep going for him. So, girl, drop me a comment.
