When it comes to being a Christian woman, we have to live a fully surrendered life. We can't be out here being a Miss Independent, out here saying like I don't need anybody, I can do this on my own. I got this. You know, I'm a girl boss. We can't be like that and be a Christ follower. It's either you're going to be Miss Independent and depend on yourself, or you're going to live a surrendered life, be a true Christ follower and depend on God. So, girl, we're going to talk about how to depend and surrender to the Lord in your business and in your life in today's episode. So welcome, thank you for joining me. I'm your host, whitney. So let's talk about surrender. What does surrender mean? Surrender means to voluntarily yield to an authority, and God is our authority, right? So, as a Christian woman, our authority is the Lord. We're even commanded to obey the Lord's word and to be living a surrendered life. When it comes to surrendering, though, we can't just give God parts of us. To surrendering, though, we can't just give God parts of us. He is asking for total control of everything in our lives, and that's where the problem lies with some of us. Is we only give God parts of us. We only give him access to parts of our lives and we don't give him the full control. And I feel like, when it comes to these businesses, a lot of us have the mindset that these businesses that we're running are ours, when in reality, these businesses are God's. We are just stewards of these businesses. We are the managers of these businesses. At the end of the day, this is something that God has given us and he's watching and seeing how we are stewarding over these businesses. Are we doing it properly and are stewarding over these businesses? Are we doing it properly and are we honoring him in these businesses? And for some of us, I just feel led to say that you haven't given him control of it. He wants total control. And you're sitting here wondering why things are going the way they are in your business, why there's so much chaos, why it's just not going right. And it's because you're the one in control and not the Lord, Because the one thing about God God is a God of order, he is a God of peace, he is a God of control. So when God has control and is taking over the things in our lives, there's always going to be order in it. There will never be no confusion. There will never be no chaos. God is a God of order. That chaos and that destruction, that unsettled, that unsettledness that's going on in your business, that's from the enemy. The enemy loves to distort, the enemy loves to confuse Everything, that stuff like that is not of God and we have to understand that. So I just encourage you to just sit down with the Lord and have him reveal what's going on in your heart and he will show you whether you're surrendered to him or not. And girl, I'm speaking from experience. I was that Miss Independent girl Speaking from experience. I was that Miss Independent girl Like I was out here just running my business, just thinking I was a girl boss, thinking I didn't need nobody, thinking I could do everything on my own.

Speaker 1:

And the Lord had to really humble me and show me like no, you need me. Okay, I gave you this business, I gave you the idea of this business, and you're not running it in a way that's pleasing me. And you're not running in a way that's pleasing me because you haven't given me full control of it. You are still, the Lord was telling me. I was still wanting to be in control. I thought I had given God control of my business, but I really didn't.

And once I fully gave the Lord full control of my whole entire life, that's where some of the most amazing changes have been happening within my life. Not saying things are going perfectly and splendidly, girl. No, honestly. Once I surrendered it all to the Lord, that's when I was really getting spiritually attacked. I was going through some serious warfare. The enemy was trying to get me back to to his side and it was a lot Right. So I'm not going to sit here and make it seem like once you give your your all to the Lord, it's going to be peachy and amazing, girl. No, it's going to be peachy and amazing, girl. No, it's going to be hard.

Speaker 1:

And when you are a person who likes to be in control, like I am, giving over full control was a hard thing at first, but I knew I had to do it because I desired the Lord and his presence in my life. I desire to please him so much and I knew that giving him full control was going to be for my good. Anyways, I trusted him in that because as I read his word, I saw how good of a God he is. I knew that I would be going through some things. Still, I knew that. You know things weren't going to be perfect. I knew I would still have moments where it would be like man, what's going to happen in this business? But I, because I knew God's character and how good he is, I knew it was going to be worth it to give him full control. And that's what I want to tell you. It's going to be worth it.

Speaker 1:

There's so many benefits to being fully surrendered to the Lord. You're going to have less anxiety, you're going to have less fears. When you're fully surrendered, you have an increased sense of clarity, an increased sense of peace of mind, like God is going to provide those things within your spirit, because he's that good of a God. You can't just give him parts of you. He's asking for full control. He wants you in total. He wants the whole of you, everything of you. He wants it all. But you have to give it to him. He wants you to choose him. Oh my gosh, that's how good he is. The enemy is the one who steals from us. The enemy is the one who takes away our joy. The enemy is the one who's out here wanting to destroy us. But God is like just choose him, he's going to take care of you. It even says in Lamentations, chapter three, verse 25,. It says the Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So if you just fully depend on the Lord for everything within your life, within your business, he's going to take care of you.

Speaker 1:

I've seen it in my own life. Even when you know my business wasn't doing the best it could have been financially, the Lord was continuously providing for me. I was still taken care of. I still had a peace of mind, whereas before, when I was in control and I would see my numbers slip in my business, girl, I was so full of anxiety, I was so full of fear. I just thought I was thinking I was going to have to shut down my business.

Speaker 1:

It was just so much chaos in my mind. First of all, I wasn't seeking God, I wasn't allowing him in my business, I wasn't praying to him. I was just so much chaos in my mind. First of all, I wasn't seeking God, I wasn't allowing him in my business, I wasn't praying to him. I was just thinking about well, what can I do to fix this? Instead of going to God and being like God, just help me, god, I trust you. God, I know things look bad, but I'm going to trust you that it's going to be okay. Okay, and I just thank God that he. He revealed himself to me, revealed that I needed to humble myself to him for one, to get that pride out of my heart and to allow him in my business. But now, when situations happen like, say like um, cancellations or, you know, not having a fully booked day, when those situations arise, I have more of a peace in my mind now because I know that the Lord is going to take care of me. I know it's going to be good. Like it may look like the numbers ain't numbering on this day right now, but I just trusted God that it was going to be okay and it has been. Ever since I fully gave him access to my business, it has been OK.

Speaker 1:

So I want to share with you just a couple of steps you can take to fully surrender to the Lord. The first thing you need to do is to really go into prayer with the Lord so that he can give you the strength to do that and so that he can renew your mind to be fully surrendered. I think for a lot of us we have. You have to go through a mindset renewal in order to be fully surrendered. I think for a lot of us we have. You have to go through a mindset renewal in order to be fully surrendered. You know you have to ask God to renew your mind daily. You know it's a daily thing. You have to ask the Lord to really reveal what's in your heart and to show you the things that you may not have surrendered to him, so that he can help you with that. The Lord will help you with that. You know God's not asking you to be surrendered and obedient and then not going to help you with it.

Speaker 1:

Girl, like that's the amazing thing with God is he is, he's always, always there for us and he will always lead us and guide us. But we have to go to him first. You know he's not going to just barge in. He is just waiting for us to come to him first and he's going to draw right near to you. But you have to draw near to him first and in prayer and you have to be intentional with that prayer. So the next thing also is to be patient in the process.

Speaker 1:

No, surrendering isn't like an overnight thing, it's the process. You know, surrendering isn't like an overnight thing. It's a process. It will take time and you have to, you know, allow God to take his time in you. We have to remember that God's time is not our time. God works on his own time, you know. We have to remember that God's will, his way, his time. It doesn't make sense to us, but it's bigger than us, but it's all for it's all for the greater good, and you know we just have to trust him and be patient in that and just know that he is going to do a good work through you.

I just hope it just leads you to our Savior so that he can do the amazing things that he wants to do through you. And living a surrendered and obedient life is a beautiful thing. It's not an easy thing, but it's going to be worth it in the end, because our goal, our focus, is eternal life with our Lord.
