Chapter 5 – Birmingham.
Birmingham, Alabama was a tough, Segregated steel town, it was so segregated, that it shut down its parks and abandoned its baseball team rather than comply with a federal court order to integrate. Between 1956 and 1963, there were 25 bombings of black homes, churches and businesses in Birmingham, not to mention an additional 30 dating back to the 2nd world war.
