Muskegon County Municipalities At Work

Jennifer Hodges - Muskegon Township Supervisor

DJ Hilson

Jennifer Hodges has served as the Muskegon Township Supervisor for seven years and recently has become the Muskegon County Housing Coordinator as well. Her township has all the services of a city. Working in local government since 2012, her understanding and respect for the people she works for and with is evident in the way she speaks about her work. Her goal is to separate politics from government. Relationships and respect are central to the way she manages her work. Jennifer’s leadership skills center on consideration and mutual respect.

“As far as local government in general, I’d like to just remind people that behind your complaint there’s a real person. And they wouldn’t be sitting in that seat, elected or hired, if they really didn’t have your best interests in mind…and when they can’t help you in the way you think that they should, it does affect them. And they wish they could satisfy everybody how they want to. So just keep in mind that they are real people…. They care and they see what you say (on social media).  Treat others as you want to be treated. If you want to be respected, you should probably give the respect.” - Jennifer Hodges
