Mercury retrograde checked into my house and I finally understood why. Hello my beautiful souls. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a cup of coffee, or if you're anything like me, pour yourself a second cup, because you probably forgot where you left the first one. Today I want to tell you a story. Not about astrology, not really. It's about an unexpected visitor. The kind that never calls first. The kind that somehow always arrives exactly when your life already feels busy enough. Now imagine this. There's a knock at your door. You open it. Standing there is Mercury retrograde. One suitcase. A knowing smile. And before you can even ask why, why are you here? They step inside like they've been invited all along. Oh good, they say. You're home. We have a few things to go through. Oh you blink. I think you've got the wrong house. They smile. Oh no, I've got exactly the right one. And before you know it, your Wi-Fi stops working. Your phone autocorrects love you into Lava You. Your GPS suddenly believes the grocery store has moved three counties away. You spend fifteen minutes looking for your glasses before discovering that they're sitting on top of your head. Your coffee gets cold twice. And somehow, your ex suddenly remembers you're alive. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe Mercury just smiled again. Now, most people blame Mercury retrograde for the chaos. Poor Mercury gets blamed for everything. Late flights, missed emails, broken printers, text messages sent to the wrong person, retro. I imagine Mercury standing in the corner saying, I didn't make you send that text. I just made sure you couldn't ignore what happened afterwards. Because there's a difference. Because maybe Mercury retrograde isn't here to ruin your life. Maybe it's here to reveal it. You see, Mercury doesn't create cracks. It shines a flashlight into the ones that were already there. Imagine for a moment that your life is like an old house. Beautiful, loved, full of memories. But there's one closet, you know the one. The closet where everything goes when company is coming. Old coats, Christmas decorations, three extension cords that somehow became fourteen, mystery keys, a bread maker that you swore you'd use. Boxes labeled important that haven't been opened in ten years. Every time life gets messy, instead of sorting through it, you just open the closet and throw one more thing inside and quickly shut the door. Problem solved. Until one day that door won't stay shut anymore. You push, it pushes back, fueling your whole body against it. Then, boom, the entire closet explodes. Shoes fly everywhere, boxes tumble onto the floor, old memories appear that you forgot you even owned. And standing beside you, Mercury quietly says, I know this feels like a disaster, but honestly, this clause had needed cleaning for years. That's Mercury retrograde, not punishment, housekeeping. Spirit isn't trying to embarrass you. Spirit is trying to free up space. Then Mercury walks into your kitchen. They open the drunk drawer. You know exactly which drawer I'm talking about. We all have one. Rubber bands, dead batteries, takeout menus from restaurants that closed years ago, random screws, a birthday candle shaped like the number seven. Even though nobody in the house is turning seven. Mercury looks inside, looks at you, raises one eyebrow. Do you really need all of this? And suddenly you realize we all have emotional drunk jurors too. Old disappointments, old heartbreaks, conversations we replay, apologies we never received, dreams we quietly gave up on, people who left, but somehow still occupy free rent space in our hearts. Maybe Mercury isn't asking us to throw everything away. Maybe Mercury is simply asking, what still belongs here? Now let's talk about that GPS. Have you ever ignored your GPS? In five hundred feet, make a U-turn. No thanks. Recalculating again. Recalculating again. Twenty minutes later, you're hopelessly lost. And your GPS, with the patience of a saint, simply says, recalculating. And I wonder sometimes if spirit sounds exactly like that, not angry, not disappointed, just endlessly willing to help us find our way again. Sometimes Mercury retrograde is simply like saying, let's recalculate. Not because you failed, but because you've learned something new. Maybe the road that you insisted on taking isn't the one that leads where your heart truly wants to go. And here's one of my favorite thoughts. What if Mercury retrograde isn't taking anything away from you? What if it's returning you to yourself, to the version of you that existed before fear convinced you to settle? Before heartbreak convinced you to stop trusting. Before disappointment convinced you to expect less from life than you deserve. Sometimes the interruptions are invitations. Sometimes the delays are protection. And sometimes the silence that you've been frustrated by is making room for a conversation that could change everything. So before we finish today, I want you to picture one last thing. Imagine your favorite book. You're halfway through the story, and suddenly the author taps you on the shoulder. I need you to go back three chapters. You sigh. Well, I already read them. The author smiles. I know, but this time you'll understand them differently. You go back and suddenly you notice a sentence that you completely missed. Clue, a warning, a quiet act of kindness, something that changes how you understand every chapter that follows. Maybe that's what Mercury retrograde really is. Not a punishment, not bad luck, not cosmic revenge, just an invitation to reread a chapter of your life, but with wiser eyes. So the next time your phone freezes, your plans change, your printer declares independence, or someone from your past suddenly reappears. Before you blame Mercury, just smile and ask yourself, what is life trying to help me notice? You might discover that your greatest gift Mercury retrograde ever brings, it isn't chaos, it's clarity. So I thank you for spending this time with me today. Until next time, be gentle with yourself. Keep your heart open. And remember, sometimes the universe doesn't interrupt your plans to make life harder. Sometimes it interrupts your plans because it can see a better road just ahead. So take care, my beautiful souls. I will see you next time. Bye bye.
