Welcome back to the Rambling Psychic Show, our ongoing series. It must be Saturday. Um, I wanted to do a special chapter, and I'm calling it the story keeper, the one who remembers. So before every beginning, there is a story. Before every story, there is a choice. And before every choice, there is someone who remembers. There is a place beyond time, not above the clouds, not hidden among the stars, somewhere far more mysterious, somewhere that exists between moments, a place where the stories of each soul are kept. A place called the Library of Unfinished Stories. Now, you may be imagining a very large library, tall shells, old books, perhaps someone walking around quietly saying, please keep your voice down. But the library of unfinished stories is nothing like that. There are no dusty books, no ladders, no overdue notices. Although there was once a soul who suggested a return date system. The story keeper politely explained that eternity makes deadlines rather complicated. The library is alive. Instead of shells, there are glowing threads stretching in every direction. Millions upon millions of them. And each thread represents a soul's journey. Some are bright, some are just beginning to glow, some twist and turn through unexpected paths, and some find their way back to another thread they promised to meet. And walking among these threads is the story keeper. No one knows when the storekeeper arrived. Some say the story keeper was created when the first story was ever told. Others say the storekeeper simply appeared when the first soul appeared. And one more, some believe the storekeeper appeared when the first soul asked, Will I ever find my way home? Perhaps both are true. Perhaps some things are meant to remain mysteries. Every moment when someone almost gave up, chose to continue. Every time someone showed kindness when no one was watching, every time a heart broke and someone found the courage to love again. The storekeeper remembers them all. There is one role, the most important rule. The storekeeper may watch, the storekeeper may guide, the storekeeper may tell the stories, but the story keeper may never choose the ending. Because a life without choice is not truly a life. One day, a young apprentice walked beside the story keeper. The apprentice looked around the endless threads. Wow, how many stories are here? The storekeeper smiled. All of them. The apprentice's eyes widened. Well, that must be impossible. The storekeeper nodded. It would be a pause. If I had to organize them. Well the apprentice looked confused. Then how do you keep track? The storekeeper gently touched a glowing thread. They organize themselves. How? The storekeeper smiled. Usually through mistakes. The apprentice thought about this. Mistakes? Oh yes. Souls make many of them. Do they? The storekeeper laughs softly. Of course. Well, then why are they allowed? The story keeper looked towards the endless threads. Because sometimes the wrong road teaches a soul exactly what it needed to learn before finding the right one. The apprentice grew silent, then asked, Do souls always find what they're searching for? The storekeeper paused. A thousand years of wisdom seemed to pass through that silence. Then not always in the way they expect. The apprentice walked further into the library and then suddenly stopped. What is this one? The story keeper followed the apprentice's gaze. Two faint threads shimmered together. One silver, one gold. They were not connected. Not yet. But they moved ever so slightly towards one another. Those two, the apprentice asked. The storekeeper smiled. Yes. Do they know each other? Not yet. Well, have they met? Not yet. Will they meet? The storekeeper looked at the threads. A gentle smile appeared. That depends. The apprentice asked. On what? The storekeeper watched as the two threads continued their journeys on who they become before they do. Well, the apprentice looked puzzled. But if they promise to find each other, yes, well, then why don't you simply bring them together? The story keeper smiled. Because finding someone is not the greatest gift. It isn't. No. The greatest gift is becoming the person who can truly recognize them when they arrive. And so the story keeper watches, the threads move, the choices are made, the lessons unfold, the laughter happens, the heartbreak happens. The growing happens. And somewhere among billions of stories, two souls continue walking. Not lost, not forgotten, simply becoming. Perhaps your story is here too. Perhaps there are moments in your life that seem like delays, but were actually preparation. Perhaps the people who changed you, even the ones who left, were chapters in a story you didn't understand yet. Because sometimes the universe is not keeping someone from you. Sometimes it is preparing you for something you are not ready to receive. The story keeper closes the book. Not because the story is finished, because it is just beginning. And somewhere, two threads move a little closer. Until next Saturday, remember, you are not simply walking through your life. You are becoming the person your soul came here to be.
