SPEAKER_00

Right, good morning, everybody, and welcome to Friday's episode of Trending. I hope you're well wherever you are in the world. You've made it to the end of another week. This morning we're going to talk about a few different stories, some from Europe, some from the US, and some that affect the entire world. But there's only really one place to start, and it's with an incredibly sad story all round. There's nothing about this story that doesn't just make you feel incredibly sad inside. I'm recording referring to the story that was making major headlines yesterday to do with Noelia Castillo, 25 years old, a Spanish lady who sadly is no longer with us as of late afternoon. Yesterday, she chose to end her life after a number of different things have happened to her over the last few years. There was a long legal battle between her father and her slash the state as to whether she could end her life. And unfortunately, her father lost and she was able to do that, and the state ended her life yesterday through euthanasia. Now, there's so many things to unpack here. Lots of people I've seen online are saying this lady was severely disabled and she wanted to end her life. If she wanted to do that, she has every right to do so. I don't disagree with that, but the problem I have is did she want to do so? And what checks and balances are in place to ensure that the decision made is the decision that's really wanted. Now there's lots of stories coming out suggesting that she was having second thoughts over the last few days. And if that is even a smidge true, if there's a shred of evidence to suggest that that's true, one conversation, one passing comment, then this shouldn't have happened. Because in order for this to be on somebody's terms, then it has to be ultimately absolutely on their terms. And if someone's making comments suggesting they're having second thoughts, they're not convinced, are they? If somebody was about to do something like get married, and a week before was making comments suggesting maybe they're not quite ready, maybe it's not quite the right person, da da da, you wouldn't shrug that off. You'd have a conversation with that person about it, and that conversation may well conclude with them postponing their wedding. And a wedding isn't something that's quite as final, is it, as being euthanized? That's not a decision you can turn around and go, oh, I made the wrong one, let's do it differently. Once it's done, it's done. And the story goes that the reason that that this legal battle ensued right back to 2023 when she first wanted to do this, apparently, was because her father believed there was pressure from the state to do so. And that's kind of been proven in the last few days as she was having these second thoughts, and doctors were convincing her, well, actually, you know, your organs have kind of been already not sold, but they've kind of already been designated for other people now. So it's not just you involved. If that's true, which obviously, you know, it's very difficult to prove whether that's true or whether that's not, but I can quite believe it. If that's true, then all those doctors need striking off. Because their job is for the patient they are looking after. And if that patient is having second thoughts, then they absolutely should be heard, they should be talked to. This thing should have been postponed until there was a an absolute certainty, one way or another, what she wanted to happen. Now, the reason this is such a sad story, the obvious, but the reason that we she kind of got to this point is this lady was this lady was raped. This lady was raped, gang raped, actually, a few years ago, and then tried to take our own life in 2022 by jumping out of a building, and then was left severely disabled as a result of that. Now, this is a this is a young woman, she's 25 years old. So when all these um things happened to her when she would have been attacked, you know, you're talking about pre-2022, so she would have been what 21, 20 years old, maybe all of her life ahead of her. Beautiful young woman. And and you just see how one thing again, the actions of other people, sick, twisted, psychopathic people, have destroyed and ultimately ended this lady's life. And all of those things that should have been there to protect her, i.e. the state, law and order protecting these men from doing what they did in the first place. And there's a lot of evidence to suggest they're men that shouldn't even been in the country. And then the state, in terms of the checks and balances and protection, when it comes to this assisted dying law, making sure that this is not something that happened on a whim, which it feels like it is. You might say it's not because she's talked about this for years, but if you're having second thoughts, then you're having second thoughts regardless of how long you may have talked about something. So this this for me is it's just a really sad story. Because, like I say, some people have committed a horrendous act, and the person who they've committed it to has decided that their life's no longer worth living. And I can understand that, but the trauma that would have ensued this lady following that is unthinkable. And this takes us to another another kind of bigger picture story with this, which is this assisted dying bill that was passed in Catalonia, this is being passed everywhere. It's in Canada already, it's in the Netherlands already, it's being going through reading here in Britain and will come into law. It's been rejected for now in Scotland. We covered that a couple of weeks ago. So we spoke when this was first raised about the dangers of this being manipulated, of this being abused, exploited, particularly people who are maybe on their own, who don't have somebody to fight for them. This lady obviously had her father, who my heart goes out to. I can't imagine how he's feeling this morning. He would have lost his daughter really a couple of years ago, after what happened to her, in terms of what happened to her afterwards, in terms of her suffering, but he's never gonna see her again now. He's never gonna hold her hand again. He's never gonna talk to her again. And I I can't imagine the pain that must feel waking up today. And the anger and resentment and bitterness towards the people who hurt her and the state's failure. I sincerely hope he finds some solace in something. But how many other parents, how many other wives and husbands and children are going to be having the same emotions waking up the day after the state makes the final ultimate decision on their loved ones? Because that will happen. We know the state abuses the power it is given. Almost every story that we have covered in our 300 plus episodes of trending relate to the state doing things not in the interest of the people they are elected to represent. If the state cared, and there was actual evidence the state cared, not blind ignorance and hope that it did, then half the laws that we talk about having an issue with, maybe you wouldn't have so much of an issue with. But when you know that the state does nothing but it's follow its own interests and the people who really control it behind the scenes, then when things come out that can be manipulated and abused to attack damage humanity, you know they will be done. Most people sat listening would probably say, if I was terminally ill, if I was in a position where I was physically disabled to the point I couldn't do anything, I'd want the right to end my life. And I, you know what? Most people, including myself, would go, I can understand that viewpoint. I really can. If you were in some kind of accident or some kind of condition where you literally don't know your name, you don't know what's going on. I can understand why people would want that or think that's what's fair and right. But again, you're working on the assumption that the state is not going to manipulate that, it's not going to exploit that for its own interests. Well, it is. And you don't really have to look too far back in history, less than 24 hours, to prove that it will. So these kind of stories, and there's a similar one from Canada a couple of years ago, sorry, a couple of months ago, that for countries like Britain, where this isn't in law yet, this is still going through debates and conversations, people need to look at these as cautionary tales of, well, okay, this is what this actually means. This doesn't mean somebody with a degenerative disease who's just turned around and said, look, you know what, I want to go out on my own terms. I don't want to decline and decline and see my family suffer through all of all of the various things that's going to happen and see me lose myself and die not knowing who my kids are. It's not that. That'll be the sales pitch. That'll be the foot in the door moment they will use that look, we care about you and we want you to have the right to do this. That'll be the sales pitch. Didn't care much about the rights of people in other areas, though, do they? In areas that involve them living, in areas that involve children, in areas that involve your livelihoods, they don't care about your rights there, do they? They'll gladly take them away whenever it suits. As I've said many a time, this is a power grab. It's always a power grab with the state. And what we should be doing is clawing power back, not giving it more. Because with every time we give the state some power, firstly, how many times have we given it power and it's given it back without a fight on our hands? And secondly, how many times have we given it power and it's made people's lives better? It doesn't. It just gives the state more power, makes it more emboldened, more brazen to do whatever it likes. That's why we're at a point now where the interest in this country in politics, in policies, in stories, is basically nothing. And those that do take an interest oppose pretty much everything that gets done, but they still do it. They're not going quietly. This abortion law that we spoke about last week, abortion up to birth, something like less than 1% of this country support that. Give the state power, it becomes emboldened to do whatever it wants. We need to claw that power back. We need to take it and return it to ourselves, not give it more. So this is along with digital ID, one of the hills to die on. It really is, because the precedent for this is unthinkable. Because this will lead ultimately to the demise pill. The demise pill that Rockefeller Insider Richard Day spoke about all those years ago. Where you get to a certain point, you take this pill and off you go. They've already tried so many times to create a war between the young and the old. The young people, they've got no future because the old people have destroyed it. We've got an aging population, that's why we're in such a financial crisis in this country because the pensions outweigh what's being paid into the tax receipts. Too many old people. Can't afford them. Useless eaters, as Henry Kissinger called them. That's where it's going. If we let it go there, that's where it's going. 70 out, 70 and out, 80 and out, whatever they decide, a number they decide to pluck out of the air. I don't want to live in a world like that. I don't want to live in a country like that. I don't want to live in a society where somebody tells me and somebody tells my loved ones or tells you when it's time to go. Right. Like I say, this is just a such a sad story. I don't I don't I don't really have too many words on it, apart from just heart goes out to her loved ones and people around her and and her, wherever she may be in this infinite reality. And I hope she's not suffering anymore. I hope she's out of pain now. And the people involved that have caused her all of this devastation, I really hope they face justice one way or another one day. Because far too much justice goes unserved in this world. And one way to correct the imbalances that we have is for that to change. Right, we're gonna carry on talking on iconic.com. So if you're watching with us on YouTube or Twitter, thank you very much. Have a great weekend. I'll be back with you on Monday. We're gonna head over to the Iconic channel and we're gonna talk about screen time, we're gonna talk about Iran, and we're gonna talk about the International Olympic Committee, who actually have done something rather sensible in the last 24 hours for once. See you there.

Don't mention the wreck to those days. Even less is said about the Grey Pope, who some believe to be the true ruling power in the Vatican.
