EP #80: From Naval Moves to Professional Organizing: The Gale Force Story
What makes Tami Gale with Gale Force Organizers a good neighbor?
Ever wondered if the chaos of your cluttered home or office could be tamed by someone else? Tami Gale, founder of Gale Force Organizers, reveals how her journey through 31 military-related moves and managing elderly family care led her to discover a critical gap in organizing services—especially for seniors in transition.
"We're not here to throw away your stuff," Tami explains, addressing the biggest misconception about professional organizers. Instead, her Colorado Springs-based company helps clients declutter items that no longer serve them, creating space for what truly matters. Whether you're a senior rightsizing your living arrangements, a family struggling with an older home's functionality, an empty nester reclaiming space, or a small business drowning in inventory and paperwork, Gale Force Organizers transforms chaotic spaces into organized, stress-free environments.
The conversation shifts to the true value of professional organizing services. As Tami points out, we readily hire professionals for haircuts and lawn care—why not for organizing? For busy professionals juggling careers, children, and aging parents, the investment in professional organizing isn't a luxury but a practical solution that creates lasting peace of mind. Drawing from her extensive military background and senior care experience, Tami's approach isn't about perfection but functionality—creating systems that work for how you actually live today. Check out Gale Force Organizers online or through their social media channels to discover how they're helping Colorado residents simplify their lives one organized space at a time.

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Tony Hills.
Speaker 2:Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of a great professional organizer? One might be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing our good neighbor Tammy Gale with Gale Force Organizers. Tammy, how's it going? It's great, awesome. We're excited about your business, so tell us about it and what you do.
Speaker 3:Well, we're a full-service organizing business that serves El Paso and Teller counties. We are here to simplify your life by improving the functionality of your space. We'll take your home or your office and make it inviting, organized, stress-free and manageable.
Speaker 2:Okay, okay, awesome. How did you get into this business?
Speaker 3:Well, I am a Navy spouse and my lead organizer also is a retired Army officer, and between us we have moved 31 times. As adults, we know how to do this right. In addition to that, I was responsible for managing the care of my parents and my mother-in-law, and that journey convinced me that there are huge gaps in the services for seniors. Particularly at a time that is stressful, as you're moving your family member into assisted living or memory care, the last thing you want to do is deal with their stuff, and I certainly would have preferred to just hire somebody to take care of that so I could focus on other things. And those two elements of my life really convinced me that it was time to leave corporate America and start Galeforce Organizers. So that's exactly what I did three years ago.
Speaker 2:Okay, what are some myths or misconceptions in your industry?
Speaker 3:Well, most folks believe that we're going to come to your house and we're going to throw away your stuff, and I assure you that that's not the case. We will only help you declutter and take away the things that no longer serve you, and the intent of that is so that you can have space for the things that you treasure and the things that you love. Another myth is that organizing services are expensive, and the reality is our time is valuable, and if you run a business or work in a busy, hectic life and you're raising kids and trying to take care of mom and dad, the last thing you probably want to do or have time to do is organize your stuff, and so, actually, this is a service that you can hire, just like you hire someone to cut your hair or mow your lawn. You really need to think of this as just one more professional service to add to your busy life.
Speaker 2:Okay, who are your target customers and how do you attract them?
Speaker 3:Our target customers are really four sets of folks. The first are seniors those people who are choosing to transition or right size, possibly to age in place in their home or move to a senior community. It could be a couple or a family who maybe live in an older home and it just doesn't function for how they live today. They can't figure out how to make their space work for them. It could also be an empty nester who's trying to reclaim rooms in their house for the things that they enjoy, and it can be small businesses who need to tackle inventory control and organizing paper management.
Speaker 3:All of those folks find themselves stressed and without time, and so those are the four groups we tend to work with. We attract our customers really by being involved in the community. So, specifically here in Colorado Springs the senior community we're members of the Senior Resource Council and the Senior Advocates Collaborative, and we try to work with other people who are serving seniors so that we can share resources. We're also affiliated with our national group, the National Association of Productivity and Organizing, napo, and we're also the Colorado Springs exclusive agent for Home Transition Pros and, like everybody else, we're on LinkedIn, facebook and Instagram, sharing our tips, our inspirations and educating people about organizing, whether they hire an organizer or they want to do it themselves.
Speaker 2:Okay, outside of work, what do you do for fun?
Speaker 3:We are huge travelers. During my husband's Navy career we spent about 10 years overseas, so we are convinced that you always have to keep a bag packed. Now we're really touring the US. We're about to start a Southeastern road trip for 14 days just to revisit places we've been and we're finally taking the moment to see the things that skipped by while we were busy with the other things. So, in addition to that, we're huge outdoor enthusiasts. We live in Colorado for a good reason, and we always love to read. I will gladly escape for a couple hours into a nice little mystery or thriller for the afternoon.
Speaker 2:Okay, awesome, awesome. Tammy, please tell our listeners one thing they should remember about Gale Force organizers.
Speaker 3:Well, organizing doesn't necessarily come naturally to everyone, and this is something that everybody just assumes that you have to take care of yourself, and I'm here to tell you you don't. You can be good at many other things and we can take care of your clutter. The intention really is to help you live a simpler life that functions for how you live today. It really is an industry that's growing and one that is burgeoning here in the Springs area, with a lot of organizers who specialize in in almost every aspect of your life. So we're here to help. This is the time that you call in expertise to take care of the things that you don't have time for.
Speaker 2:Okay, you had mentioned that people can learn about you on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. What other ways can they learn about your business?
Speaker 3:You can always visit our website. We're at galeforceorganizerscom. You can check out any of our Google reviews to hear a little bit about us. We were on Fox 21 last year, so there's a nice clip on our website that highlights that, and last year we were focused on the cover of the Beacon Senior News. You'll also see that article linked in the website so you can find us anywhere. You can reach us by phone, email or fill out the contact form on the website.
Speaker 2:Okay, Well, Timmy, I really appreciate you being on the show. We wish you and your business much success moving forward.
Speaker 3:All right, thanks so much. I appreciate your time today.
