The Peaceful Mompreneur

The Calling Remains even when your purpose feels unclear

Aliese Halcomb

Every mompreneur knows the feeling—you're exhausted, uncertain about your next step, and perhaps a little frustrated that your business isn't growing as quickly as you'd hoped. If that's you right now, you're in exactly the right place.

This heartfelt conversation goes straight to the core of what many Christian women entrepreneurs struggle with: the emotional rollercoaster of building a business while raising little ones. Those feelings of overwhelm or irritation? They're completely normal. God gave us emotions to help us understand what's happening within us—the key is not allowing them to become permanent residents in our hearts.

The central message weaves together a beautiful paradox that every faith-driven business owner needs to embrace: keep going, yet stay still. Continue taking faithful action even when you're afraid or uncertain, while simultaneously creating space for quiet communion with God. This delicate balance forms the foundation of sustainable, purpose-driven entrepreneurship. When you don't know what's next, simply continue doing the last thing God instructed until new direction comes.

For the ambitious mompreneur, trusting God's timing often becomes the greatest challenge. When progress feels painfully slow, remember the promise that He works all things for your good and His glory. Your fears and doubts—while very real—cannot compare to God's power and faithfulness. As believers, we have the incredible gift of self-control through the Holy Spirit, allowing us to be guided by our faith rather than our fluctuating emotions.

Take a moment today to identify one small step toward your calling. Is there something God already asked you to do that you've been avoiding? Or perhaps something you abandoned because it wasn't producing results quickly enough? Return to it with renewed dedication, remembering that you're exactly where you're meant to be because God placed you there. He remains faithful in every season, especially the challenging ones. Keep going, dear friend—you weren't built for comfort, but for purpose.

Speaker 1:

Hey friends, welcome to the Peaceful Mompreneur. This episode I'm really excited about because I'm going to talk directly to you. If you are feeling tired, unsure, bored, overwhelmed or just irritated and annoyed that things are not happening at the pace that you want them to, I totally understand that feeling. This is the place to be. If you are a mom raising littles and trying to run a business without losing your mind and ensuring that your faith and your foundation is on Jesus Christ, I am excited that you are here, my friend. So, like I said, I'm going to be talking to you.

Speaker 1:

If you are that mompreneur who is tired and uncertain or overwhelmed on your journey is tired and uncertain or overwhelmed on your journey. So these feelings while we don't like them, they're totally normal and it's okay to feel them. God created emotions and feelings and we are allowed to feel them. We are not allowed to sit in them, live in them, stay there forever, but having them is good and being able to figure out what exactly is going on with us and why we're feeling like that, that's a big deal. That's why God gave those to us, so that we can understand what's going on in our minds this fear, anxiety or worry or uncertainty or irritation, as I often have. It comes in more often than I think that we would like, right? If you're like me, then it is happening more to you than you'd like as well. So this is just the way that it is, and I have felt like this recently and I've been working through it, and so I just felt like you know, the Lord likes me to talk about stuff that's going on with me, because I feel like it's often going on with you, because, my friend, I am right here in this journey with you, trying to raise little people, little person, build my business, encourage others and just make sure that my foundation is on Jesus, right? So here we are together.

Speaker 1:

So, if you're in that boat and you're wondering, like, what is this thing that God has called me to, like, why am I doing this? Remember, this is this calling. You didn't make it up. The thing that God is asking you to do. It is from God himself. So, my friend, I want you to keep going, and that is the theme of this episode is to keep going, even when all of the emotions are there. That God has called you there, god has called you here at this moment and God has placed you in your season, in this time, with your vision and purpose, for a reason, so be encouraged by that and let him lead you and guide you. That does not mean do literally everything you can think of, because that's not right either. We need to rest in the Lord and trust that he is leading and guiding us, but remember what he's called you to do and where you are. You know as well as I, if you've been following the Lord, that he is trustworthy and faithful. He is so strong when we are weak and uncertain. Which happens, which happens.

Speaker 1:

So we're going to talk about let's. Let's talk about teaching like the balance between, like moving forward and like keeping going, like I was saying, and resting in God's timing. Keep going. It means taking action in faith, even when it's hard, when it's scary, if you don't really know where you're headed or what's going on. I want you to keep doing the last thing that he told you to do.

Speaker 1:

I often find myself thinking where are we going? What are we doing? What do I need to do? And if that's you, because I have to remind myself of this, is I need to keep doing the last thing he said was right. Keep doing that, if you've not gotten new instructions, keep doing the thing that you've been doing. And also, the other part of this keep going is this stay still. And I know that sounds counterintuitive, right, keep going, stay still. They sound like different things, but here they are. They can work together.

Speaker 1:

Staying still means making sure you're making that time to spend with God, just you and Him, whatever that looks like 10 minutes, 20 minutes, two hours but if you have little people, it ain't two hours. We all know that, right? So stay still and rest in God's peace. Trust his timing and know that, even if it's irritating that you don't know and that you're annoyed that things aren't moving as fast as you want them to, that God's timing is perfect. He wants to do it at the time that he knows is best, right. We're told that he works all things out for your good, for yeah, for our good and for his glory. So when things aren't going the way you wanted or the way you expected, just remember that promise. That promise gets thrown around a lot because, well, it's freaking good, right? So just remember in that, remain in that and stay still in that.

Speaker 1:

All of our fears, all of our anxious thoughts and our uncertainty and all of those things. They are worthless compared to God's power and His promises, and sometimes we just have to remind ourselves of that, even when we aren't really feeling it. We just say, lord, I trust you because you are who you say you are, and I know you have been everything you've ever told me you are, and I can look back on those promises that you have told me and so our feelings, all of them that are good, that are god, do not dictate our decisions. Christ and your, your faithfulness in him and the leading of the holy spirit and knowing what, the next right thing to do, that is what dictates your decisions. We, as christians, are self-controlled. It's one of the fruits of the spirit that god has given us. Praise the lord, for. It's one of the fruits of the spirit that God has given us. Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the spirit, because, if not be a wild mess over here. So, and I'm sure with everybody right. So like, one of the fruits of the spirit is, excuse me, is self-control, and so we are to control ourselves the way it says, and that means our feelings and our actions. So we're not dictated by our feelings, we are dictated by what we know.

Speaker 1:

Christ's mission for us is, even if we don't know the entire picture, which we almost never do so trusting him and following after him. This is the encouragement to you. Do it anyway, keep stepping forward, despite your fears and your doubts. God is faithful even when we're not. Ask God to show you what to do, where to go, and if you're doing that, stay still part. You'll have the time to spend with him and figure out what that looks like, where you're going and what to do. And maybe you won't know a next step because maybe you're still in the step previous, or maybe you're trying to go too fast. Guilty, right here, 100% guilty, always guilty of that. And so just be reminded. Remind yourself, look through a journal, talk to a friend, talk to your spouse, somebody who knows you, loves you and knows, and you know what that last step was. Where were you supposed, what were you supposed to be doing? And do that supposed to be doing and do that thing.

Speaker 1:

God is faithful in every season, especially the hard ones, especially the ones where you don't know where you're going, you're irritated that things aren't moving along. Bring all of those feelings to the Lord and give them to him, then trust he is going to be faithful. Keep, keep going, my friend. You are where you are because God called you there. God called you there, you didn't make this up. Keep focusing on him and moving forward in faith, resting in his timing.

Speaker 1:

So let me ask you, what is one small step today that you can take towards your calling, even if you don't feel ready? Is there something that the Lord has already asked you to do that you're not doing? Is there something you need to be continuing to do and you kind of just gave it up because you didn't feel like it was working the way. You expected it to Go back and start doing that thing. And if you're doing the things, keep going, my friend, be encouraged that we are not left by the Lord. He is always with us and he is going to be with you right now, in this season too. Now, this was short and sweet and I hope that it lifted you up, because I know this is an encouragement that I need, and I hope that you are lifted up by it too. So, my friend, I will talk to you next week. Thank you so much for being part of the peaceful mompreneur community. Bye, ladies.
